I personally am still concerned about what has gone on and what the BRAG information passed on to the authorities was. The sooner the information is out the better, as the supporters are enitled to know exactly what the wrong doings are. I know plenty are boycotting next year, but that doesn't mean we love the club any less.

It appears to me that rather than being in the last chance saloon or 'on trial' as some people believe Kean to be, that he is actually more secure now than he was last season. These are clearly his signings, unlike Formica/Rochina/Vuck
evic. There no longer appears to be any dissent against him at Ewood and they have appointed his two chums to the board to protect him further.
To me if there was even the slightest doubt as to Kean's position none of that would have been allowed to happen.
If the season started tomorrow our squad would be the best in the Championship. Unfortunately we are without an adequate manager, which is the most important person at the club. A competent manager is key. Look at Norwich and Swansea who managed promotion with average squads. Its a real shame that a decent manager does not have the opportunity Kean has. If somebody like Bruce, Warnock, Grayson or Mowbray had such money at their disposal I think we'd win the league. Recent appointments of Bruce at Hull, Clark at Birmingham and possibly Zola at Watford mean that's another 3 clubs to finish above us next season. Poorer squads but better manager. I also expect the departures of Olsson, Formica, Hoillett, Robinson, Nzonzi and Rochina minimum over the coming weeks, leaving us with a weaker squad.

I dont care how much they allegedly spend on players, how is it going to make any difference with Kean in charge?
If you think by spending a little cash will win promotion, how many clubs have tried with better managers' than ours and failed?
All they want is your MONEY AND WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET IT THEY WILL DO IT.
Dont be taken in,KEEP AWAY OR WE WILL NEVER GET RID OF THEM

How much is Steve Kean's severance package though do you think? What therefore would that money be better spent on, for instance to get us more season tickets or the fans more excited for the coming season:
1) Any amount of decent signings like this?
or
2) Getting rid of Kean?
I know what the answer is. The fans simply can't get past the fact that he is still in charge and it's bizarre the owners can't realise that.
As I've just said on another article; football managers are second only to kamikaze pilots in having the shortest career. Everyone knows that. If the team is doing badly, you don't sack the striker, you sack the manager. But not with Steve Kean, a man with little to no experience and has done worse than any other manager that I've certainly lived under.
It just begs the continued question; why are the Venkys pulling out all the stops now, when it's only in a flailing attempt to save Kean?
Sack the goon, then we can get on with the season.

Can he / you manage successfully you ask? If you are a genuine fan who's just woken from a coma, then apologies, we'd had that question answered categorically over the last 18 months. No, is the answer. He couldn't manage the few short steps to his own front door after he'd just driven home. But you do the maths on that one Steve.
We all want Rovers soaring not plummeting next season, it's just we all can't get past the fact that the manager is still in charge. It's just really really weird in the world of football. No one can disagree with that.

Do not be taken in by the money being spent - it's chicken feed (sorry!) in comparison too what they have got in and will get in before the start of the season from all the outgoing players sold and the Pem. League money. If they had sacked Kean in December after the Bolton game none of this would have happened and we would still be in the Premiership. With Kean still in charge going down to League 1 is still more likely than promotion. He is still as bad as he always was and the talent pool will be worse.

I have attended the previous meetings but was unable to make the one at Longshaw WMC due to other commitments. From what I can gather though the facts were not spoken about at the meeting.
I am sure you are right about the biggest corruption story this country has ever seen, but why nothing yet from the authorities?
I for one can't wait for all this to be exposed, as I feel sure that an agent, manager and the owners will be brought to task. My worry is, it will damage the club too and may mean points being deducted or even relegation, as it seems to be serious stuff.
Given that it was the fans that brought this to the attention of the authorities, this would be unfair in my opinion, as the club is the fans deep down.

I firmly believe if there is corruption of the highest order, the authorties need to come out now and tell us what they have and more importantly what they are going to do about it.
I am sure BRAG do have some excellent evidence of wrong doing as 400 pages were presented. I just worry that this is still not out in the open. We kick off the new season in just over 6 weeks and the fans deserve to know.
8:52pm Mon 2 Jul 12
J.C - Rishton says...
.
I don't think they want it out in the open yet as they are still investigating many many leads but what they can prove (which is staggering), they are keeping it fairly quiet as they are showing some deference/respect to the FA who need time to study it (they said the FA already knew some of the info and were already investigating it). In the meeting with the FA both the complainance officers for the fit and proper tests and the agents complaiance officers were there.
.
As for it being exposed - it will be, but not for a long time. The FA are studying the file from the fans and cross referencing it with the infomation they already have. Also, they have many other leads to follow as it seems that only the tip of the iceberrg has been touched so far. Also, no doubt the FA will have to bring in the police at some stage (if they already havent done so?) - so basically I think it will not be on the front pages for a while yet.
.
As for the club being punished when it all comes out - I suspect we will have to be - along with the individual criminals concerned, however, like you, I think the only hope we have is that most of this has been exposed by Rovers fans. But that is a long way down the line - whatever the resulting punishment (if any) coruption/crimes/rul
e breaking at any football club cannot be tolorated by anyone and has to be rooted out.

It just goes to show what an unbelievable job the Rovers action group have done by GETTING this evidence where everyone else has failed. They have also done exactly the right thing by passing onto the FA and the goverment - this is SERIOUS stuff and before the happy clappy brigade start coming on here poo pooing "conspiricy theories" - that 400 page document contained IREFUTABLE EVIDENCE of serious wrong doing (league rule and law breaking).
9:01pm Mon 2 Jul 12
carlmc says...
Cheers for the reply. It is very worrying, here is hoping that common sense will pervail with regards to the future of the club. The ideal scenario would be the criminal element are jailed and the club is handed over to the fans without too much damage done to the future of the club. If the owners have done something illegal then they should have the club taken from them. How this would be done and how the future of the club can be made secure, if this does happen, is anyones guess.

I am no legal expert, but unless clear evidence of wrong doing is available, announcing what they have and what they are going to do about it, is foolish.
I would hope that some sort of announcement will be made by the football authorites before the season starts, just to be fair to the fans, but who knows!

The FA already HAD some of this infomation and ARE already investigating Rovers.
.
I also said that this won't break for along time as this is a COMPLEX investigation which many many leads are still to be followed which will be a time consuming process.
.
Do you really think that they would get to see the PL chief, ALL the bigwigs at the FA AND the head honcho for sport in the UK with a file full of "unsubstantiated conspiricy theories" ?? - do you really beleive you can meet these people without having something worth showing them ??
.
Infact they got the FA meeting after Scudamore looked through the file. They said he was so "BLOWN AWAY" with what he read that he organised the fans meeting with the FA there and then, whilst they were still there.
.
You have always defended Venkys from day 1 - everyone on this site knows this from your previous posts and no doubt you'll even defend them after the story breaks. No doubt you'll even blame members of the action group if we end up being punished as a club, rather the CRIMINALS which are currently within our midst.

Nice to have a bit more than was on the minuted website.
Most fans have this feeling of being 'used and abused', and as a result of that, the vociferous backlash, misunderstood from the outside, at times, but strengthening all the time.
More and more football followers of various clubs have expressed to me their dismay at events at Ewood. I have yet to meet one who would employ Kean as their manager (am I surprised?)
JC - I come on here mainly to get snippets of information on what happens at our club. Most of the posters on here cannot give me that that. You do. Other sources also.
You get a hard time here occasionally but not from me. Keep giving us what you know. Information is power. We need to know.

However, one last thing I will say to give you a small reminder of how wrong things actually are below the surface at Ewood.
.
Cast your mind back to the leaked BRFC memo from JA to Martin Goodman TELLING HIM to make a payment to an unknown man in south america involved in the MF deal. (this was given by one of the ex-Rovers directors to sportinginteligence who published it about 6 months ago).
.
This memo shows an agent, suposedly with no ties to the club ORDERING a club director to do something ?
- how is that possible ?
- I'm sure we all appreciate JA "unpaid help" during the transfer window of Jan 2011, but how can he ORDER a club director to do anything ?? (If he was "requesting" MG make a payment then maybe I and 100,000 read it wrong or maybe he simply meant it as a request and wrote it down as incorrectly as an order )- I don't know ??
(funny how transparent/brillian
tly run clubs never have these wierd queries and anomolies ever crop up).
.
Why do I need help - I have gone to listen to what the action group have said, I have also spoken to someone else (not an action group member), someone I have known and trusted for 40 years who has had full access to the action group file and he also said it was "mindblowing stuff" - you have done nothing but call anyone who thinks there maybe problems at Rovers "conspiricy theorists" - how have you come to your decision, have you talked to Action group members, listened to what they say before making up your mind or have you never left your settee ?
I suspect the latter.

I am still of the opinion that the protesting at home games last season had an adverse effect on the performance of the team. If this is to happen at away matches next season, then BRFC have only one solution. Make away games all ticket, and sell to season ticket holders only. That way the true supporter will be able to encourage the team forward, time will tell if this is the correct course of action.
Kean should have gone long ago, however, he is still here and there is nothing more the supporters can constructively do. Results in the opening games of the new season will seal the manager's fate, but I for one hope for a successful start to the season, not for the sake of Kean, but for BRFC. Points in the bag are far more attractive than sacking the manager and playing "catch up".
Things in the past have been in a real mess, however, you have to ask yourself why would Murphy and Best sign for the Rovers in view of past problems. Venkys at last have seem to come to their senses, all far to late, but it appears to have happened. Communication is coming from the club, selective I know, but when do football clubs and businesses open up to everything. In my business I am selective as to what is available to others, it is purely business common sense.
Just going into the air raid shelter I still have in my garden from WW2!!

i know gomes is another very long shot, but having that kind of experienced backup is not too bad an idea. he's pretty good in the air, so may be a decent impact player who can sneak a goal or two when we need one.

The fans cannot expect to be listened to unless they also accept that their actions on match day also have a bearing on the outcome of the game and league table position.
The negativity at Ewood is worth a goal start to the opposition.
I would like to see all the Kean Out chants cease with the kick-off whistle and be kept on hold until the final whistle.
If anyone expects next season to be easy because we are in the Championship they need to think again. It is a horrible league and the players will need all the support they can get.
Let's not forget that the current rot at Ewood started before Kean became boss with the booing and barracking of our own players by ur very own morons on the terraces. A very small number of fans were involved but their actions were very damaging. Some contributors on here would have us believe that Rovers fans epitomise loyalty and fervour. Nothing is further than the truth. Even on a good day Ewood is like a morgue.
There is not one Rovers fan who does not want Kean Out but the fact is we will be starting this vital season with him in charge and I for one want to see us winning games and challenging for promotion - even if this does strengthen Kean's position.
Sport is about winning - not crying about people's characters or personalities.

It is their pride that is stopping them from changing the manager.
Whether this will prove to be folly on their part, we shall have to wait and see.
As for the money being spent, I like you don't buy into it. If you consider their 'dealings so far and then consider the 'likely' out dealings yet to transpire. Then add the incoming parachute payments. Then the promised £5m min 'investment' per window. To spend on the two latest guys is not so big a deal.
As said if they really wante to fire the support up they only need to do one thing. But they won't, so I am not buying into any of this.
It is normally commendable to give give everyone/anyone plenty of chance to come good, but in all honesty I believe SK has been given more than his fair chance.
For me SK is currently at best a potential Div 1 standard manager.
There is many a more illustrious manager attempted promotion from the Champs and failed, so omens are not particularly good.
