RIP Chris. I always remember away to Forest when they where European Champs under Cloughie (I think! - or not long after) and we drew 1-1 away in an F A Cup tie. Chris rounded Shilton in the last min, slipped a bit and poked it wide of an open goal.

We thought we had blown it but two goals from John Lowe (or Lowie?) one a free kick cracker saw us turn em over 3-1 in the replay at Ewood.

I am starting to agree with you and it is of great concern. I do note though, that Morst's memory is beginning to fade a little. The great Forest matches precis is out a bit. Big Sam will be recalled as a great manager next!

I was at that Forest away game…..started snowing at half time, it took us six hours to get home……think we won the reply 3-0

I went to the game at The City ground too.From what I recall,we were standing in the open away end and I'm pretty sure it was snowing.There was fans from other teams supporting us,as their games were postponed.Thanks for the memories and great away days in the 80's.Rip Chris.

..then it's back down to the reality...Chris Thompson, I was a ball-boy at the live televised FA cup game of Rovers v Southampton 1980 (something) at Ewood, we got beat 1-0, Armstong scored, but before that, I recall Thompson taking the pee outta Mark Wright on the wing and cross in for Garner who's shot was creeping in before cleared of the line...Thomo patted me on the head at full time when I was walking down the tunnel...small gesture, but as a lad who looked up to footballers, it was mint! Sorry your gone Chris and all the best to your family.

Only the good die young. Remember the scrappy goal most at Goodison in a FA cup tie but Lineker was in a different class on the day, and we ended up losing 3-1 but didn't deserve it. The Blackburn End was bouncing for 90 minutes, fantastic day out. Thanks for the memories Chris. RIP.

Northampton and Fulham fans joined us to support the underdogs. Great day. Won the replay 3 - 2, but should have won at Forest.

Very sad news indeed. Last time I saw him was about 20 years ago when he was the landlord at the Station pub in Lytham. Had a chat with him and he said he had a few of the old Ewood lads down now and again. A lovely fella. RIP Chris. Best wishes to your family.

Agnew, Venky's, Kean, etc - In 2010 season we had 20,000 (Yes That's Twenty Thousand!) Season Ticket Holders alone.

It breaks my heart to see the selfish, greedy way you are misusing our club. Rumour is only a quarter of those fans have renewed for 2012 despite the early bird discount. Many of those will now be thinking after recent events of the refund they would be entitled to under LAW if they want or can simply cancel their direct debits.

Its now more clear than ever that Rovers fans must dig in and stick together on this until change arrives.

Agnew will not pacify us if his first action is not to sack Kean.

Hendry will not pacify us if Kean is still here and is likely to lose his status with Rovers fans if he stabbed us in the back an unprecedented third time.

RIP Chris, and as others have said, great memories of the 80's.

Some of them from when the lads would have a few pints with the fans in the Woodlands at Billinge. Its a good job we didn't have camera phones back then ;-)
