Kean: Ref got it wrong on crucial foul

AS a late winner from Andy Carroll tipped Liverpool on to a 3-2 win at Ewood Park, Steve Kean insists a crucial decision in the run-up to the goal cost Rovers a point.

Just before Carroll's 90th minute winner, an altercation between Grant Hanley and Martin Skrtel seemingly went unnoticed by the referee; with Kean claiming Blackburn should have been awarded a free kick.

He said: "There was big decisions in the game. I think he got the sending off of the goalkeeper right and the yellow card for their sub goalkeeper - but not the foul on Hanley."

With Liverpool conceding two penalties for decisions against their goalkeepers, Blackburn were given two golden opportunities for goals.

However, the home side only managed one of the two and whilst they fought back with another goal to match the early two from Maxi Rodriguez, they must surely feel this decision cost them a point.

Kean added: "I can understand the ref's decisions and I can understand why he's given a yellow card for the goalkeeper. But I can't understand why he or the linesman didn't give the foul on Hanley when he was trying to get up."

Woah woah woah, Steve, the reason we lost that match was the ref? I would say David Dunn's lack of effort and the defence's lack of organisation was a bigger factor.

Can anyone tell me how many points Rovers have dropped in the last 10mins of games this season? Must be well in to double figures now. There's only one thing to blame for that Steve - coaching.

Time is running out for excuses and former player testimonials of how good he is and how badly he has been treated by fans, he is just not the guy to get the job done @ BRFC so time for a change

I did not see the game but read live commentary and if you cannot beat 10 men and miss a penalty what can I say

This may be the first time in Premier League history where a relegated manager get voted 'Manager of the Season' by a national newspaper. Oh the ludicrous irony! That's 4 games on the trot we've lost. Kean is oblivious to the reality that he inept and delusional. Statistically the worst manager in Rovers' history. The owners silence and absent speaks volumes and only amplifies their cluelessness towards the needs of a modern premier league club of which Rovers look soon, under their ownership, to lose membership

What about the two goals in two minutes because neither of the Olsson boys could remember which one was the better left back? Maybe you should get Givet to answer that one.

What about Yakubu's pitifully poor attempt at a penalty? What about the lack of urgency? The long lumps from Robinson to the two shortest strikers in the Premiership? The inabilty to stretch and get behind a 10-man Liverpool reserve side? On and on and on, excuse after excuse and you seriously expect punters to part with cash next season to listen to the same sh8 over and over again?!!

Well my mind is made up well and truly. No ST for me next year (up or down) whilst Venky's and their puppet (that's you Stevie boy) are around. I'm very sad to say that.

I've spoken to 2 guys tonight with 80 (yes 80) years of ST ownership between them, and no they won't be renewing either.

Kean, your excuses are finally worn out - we've got behind the team (always) and also laid off you. When you said "we need to go on another run" - well guess what, we just did - 4 defeats back to back. And to make it worse, 3 of those games were more than winnable.

Your tactics are inept, ineffective & naive. Once the truth comes out about what's really going on at OUR club, you will be prosecuted for fraud.

Disgrace, an absolute disgrace.

Good summation from RobbyRover.
How do you take the positives from tonight Steve ?
Team Selection poor - overrun in midfield yet again.
Giving away 2 early goals.
Tactically Inept - playing against 10 men and only using one wing.
Substitutions too late and ineffective again.
A 3rd string goalkeeper hardly tested by our forwards.

So how much of this is the referee responsible for ?
Can you really blame this defeat by nitpicking the performance of the guy who gave us two pens and sent off a goalkeeper ?

Take a look in the mirror will you, who is coaching this team to play with so little shape and organisation ?
Wo is preparing a team to such a level of fitness that they grind to a halt after 88 minutes ?

I'm truly gutted to see the club I've supported for 40 years being destroyed by lack of leadership throughout the club.

a competitive team has to learn how to defend. questions - how many goals conceded this season? how many goals conceded from crosses? why is our best defender on the bench?

.
why is our midfield all over the shop - n'zonzi plays it sideways more than steve metcalfe and dunn has no clue. did anybody see dun pick up a paper plate in the first half...the bloke next to me said he was just looking to see if there was a pie underneath.
.
loads of crossfield balls to olsen that went nowhere.

when oh when is kean going to accept responsibility - we didnt lose tonight cos of a ref error, we lost tonight cos we are hopeless at defending and the midfield couldnt run a bath and the forwards were as agressive as the andrex puppy....AND KEAN, THAT IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!

Morst The 88th Min Heartbreaker of Dingles! says...

By far the best journalism on Rovers in recent months has been by long term Rovers fan (he did the Rovers Mag in the 90's) Jim Wilky alias "Blue Eyed Boy" in the Accrington Observer. The LT should do everything they can to at least get him to do a weekly column!
.
I give you part of this weeks analysis - "The many sycophantic and congratulatory messages aimed towards Kean and the team after last months consecutive clean sheets / victories have been ridiculed and exposed as the vacant-headed pen-jerk non-sense most of us knew they were.
.
Easy with hindsight Jim's critics may say - not so as this was his column 2 weeks ago - whilst Kean must get credit for two wins there is an uncomfortable feeling we caught Wolves and Sunderland at the right time. Has he become a tactical genius over night? Are his dodgy signings suddenly looking good?
.
And last week he said - You could understand one team at the Reebok being affected by the weeks events. Players and manager in London for 4 days. No training and no planning and the emotional issues which can drain you. Unfortunately that team was not Rovers whom seemed most affected. All Kean had to do was tunnel vision and keep them focused on the match and yet he has the audacity to use it as an excuse.
.
I hope from memory the above was fairly accurate brief review of your columns Jim!
.
The real fear is that the Kean and Venky madness has left us with little more than 12 or 13 worthy players of premiership quality as Andy Cryer rightly covered this week and some of them are home grown youngsters being asked to do too much too early - Shame on Kean - Shame on Venkys.
.
PLEASE HOLD BACK ON YOUR RENEWING YOUR SEASON TICKET UNTIL WE GET SOME ACTION!
.

Kean (the "man" who blamed a supporter for spiking his drink) has NO dignity.

Kean "the man" who has cited BRFC supporters as threatening his life and now needs to employ a bodyguard - has NO dignity - (P.S. he's your chauffer really Stevie boy - you can't drive because you were too p@ssed - so stop inventing Jerome Christian Anderson fairy stories!).

Kean "the man" who receives hundreds of letters and e-mails from supporters, telling him they got it wrong / what a good manager he is / how they were too quick to misjudge him, blah, blah, blah - has NO dignity (just show us 1 letter Stevie boy thats not signed "from Mrs. Kean").

Steve, when was the last time you addressed the fans, told them the truth or accepted any propotion of blame - NO dignity.

Yes, Stevie boy - you have NO dignity. You must be the most thick-skinned, hard faced f@cker ever to grace this earth - unfortunately the media luvvies seem to interpretate this as "dignity" - only we who watch week in week out, game in game out, know differently.

Praying for a miracle (and I don't mean survival, I mean new owners and new manager)
He really is a despicable human being.

THE MAN IS UTTER FILTH.
On the 08 April 2012, Kean managed his 60th game in charge at Rovers, a 3-0 away loss to West Brom leaving Rovers in the relegation zone with only 6 games of the season remaining. This was his 30th defeat as managing Rovers in 60 games. When compared to former Rovers manager Sam Allardyce's statistics whilst manager of the club, it would reveal at this point that Steve Kean has only lost 4 games less as manager during his reign, with 30 games to spare. In fact statistically, Steve Kean is Blackburn Rovers worst Premier League manager in history. Which tell's us that there is something very very wrong going on at Ewood Park. We need to up the auntie to find out what that problem is..???? "We need a spy on the inside to sniff out that problem.

Gift-wrapped 3pts and we still bolloxed it up, it doesn't bode well. Bad performance all round, individually (Nzonzi, Hanley...) and as a team. Why wasn't our set piece specialist Pedersen brought on against their 3rd choice goalie? We hardly tested him.

What if we do stay up? Next season we will have the same manager, an even weaker team and likely to be a higher points total to stay up. I'd rather get relegation over and done with, if that's what t takes to get a new manager appointed, and build again.

Yesterday’s game was massive for us, yet once again the team didn’t turn up! We played a Liverpool team in their worst form in ages, playing their reserves, against only ten men, getting two penalties in the process and we STILL can’t bother to put in enough of an effort to get the three points!

This more then winnable game was probably a game we needed something from in order to stay up – now I doubt we will! Even with maximum points in our remaining home games (which I doubt we’ll get) we’ll probably still need at least another point to stay up, and with the remaining away games and current form I just can’t see us getting any!

This is the worst I’ve ever felt supporting Rovers! Not so much for the results, we’ve been there before, but because of the total mismanagement of the club!

The sad thing is that the Venkys/Kean/Anderson
/Hunt PR-machine will now be able to use the relegation as an excuse for the falling season ticket sales, the media & pundits will once again buy into it and the Rovers fans will once again be blamed………. It makes me sick!!!

Hopefully the results of other teams still help us to stay. I've been supporting Rovers for 20 years, this is the first time I feel no hope for this club. Even the last time we dropped to the Championship, I was still supporting it. Venky knows nothing about football. They recruited Kean, they let him continue even he did not get results. This says how well they know about football. If they don't sell, I'm afraid that I cannot see the blue and white shirt playing on TV anymore.

managers that have leapt to steve kean's side:
1) Alex Ferguson - two league titles at ewood under kean's reign and enough red wine to make baconface's cheeks glow. Also see phil jones for a knock down £16m
2) David Moyes - 3 out of 3 points last season and 4 points this season.
3) Wee Jimmy Krankie - Horwich double for rubbish team over rovers this season. Also see agent - a certain North London Dane
4) 'Arry - 3 points so far this season and no doubt a revival in spuds prem form in a couple of weeks. 3 out of 3 last season. Also see Ryan Nelsen.

In the Cold Light of Day after I have calmed down, I offer the following assessment of last night. RUBBISH. I have had my season ticket for 15 years and have followed Rovers all my life ( Many more than 15 years). I am making a statement now , that I will not renew mine of my sons Seasons Tickets whilst these clowns are still at my Club. I don`t really blame Kean, lets face who would not have accepted a highly paid well protected job, that can set him up for life, even if he only ever coaches lower leagues in the future. I blame the clowns that allowed these Loony s to buy our club. You have allowed Mr Walkers legacy to be taken apart piece by piece, for no other reason that Profit.

What ever happened to the Fit and Proper persons test, Surely when they met Mrs Desia and her Boys they realised that they were dealing with Bumpkin Farmers who thougt Old Trafford was a Test Match venue and Paul Robinson was an England Wicket Keeper

They had done absolutely Nothing for Rovers in the two season that they have lorded it over us, and already have the money back that they borrowed to buy the club, in outgoing transfer fees. (Jones, Kalanic, Samba) to be followed this summer by Hoillet, Olsson, Formica, Rochina Robinson, Givet, Hanley, Yakubu.

If that is not asset stripping of the worst kind, then I am a Chinaman.

I hope MY Club does well next year, but for the first time in many many years, they will have to manage without my support on matchday.

After the end of this season I will not set foot in Ewood again until the Circus Leaves Town. I suspect I am not alone in that sentiment.

I think you need to consider observing their pay cheques before you consider shedding a tear for them.
Make no mistake, they are just going through the motions with half a mind on where they would like to 'ply their trade' next term.
They will for sure not be going down to the social in order to pay their bills, or expensive mansions, dining out, luxurious holidays, flash motors etc.

I wouldn't want kean managing my sunday side.

Can't say for Div 1 and 2 - but is there a worse manager in the top two divisions (possibly Connor aside)?
.
We are tactically inept
We are unfit
We are disorganised
We are incapable of changing the way we play
We have no change of pace in the team
We can't defend
We don't use subs effectively
We are disgracefully led
We are constantly lied to
WE ARE DOWN
.
And French Rover - do you still believe that Givet is just not being selected cos Dann and Hanley are keeping him out of the side?

Very well observed and documented. Although you forgot to mention the Glasgow connection. I wonder if any of those other Scots don't know what whisky tastes like? Firstly like to apologies for my part in last night’s slanging match on the other thread…..My excuse was.. really cheesed off after another poor performance, only to be told I’m not a ‘proper’ fan, really grates you after travelling 3+ hours home on wet Tuesday night.
Right, Just to clear a few things……

1. I’m not an apologist for Kean/ Venkeys/Andersen…q
uite the opposite I’m a Rovers fan, no other side to me.

2. Staying away/ boycotting at this stage of the season will not rid anyone from our club the only possible effect it will have is a negative one on the team.

3. The protest didn’t have my support but acknowledge they did what they thought best for the club, ‘proper’ fans
4. 5 games to go I fear we are down; we look a poor team now, that is solely down to the mismanagement.

5. I have not re-newed or going to renew our season tickets for next season; can only take so much disappointment. Hopefully a new owner/manager is in place, then I will pick my games which to attend …Burnley home might be a good one!

6. Can’t see us picking up another point this season, without the fans backing at this crucial part of the season we are most definitely going down, whilst there is a slight chance I urge you to rethink your boycott, next season by all means but while we have a chance we should all grasp it(might never see the Rovers in the top flight again) Then by any means try to oust the regime, either by not renewing, protest or whatever method within the law you feel fit, but now is not the right time, after the season finishes.

Maybe Kean should ask the Premiership to shorten the games to 80 minutes. He clearly doesn't get it that the game lasts 90+ and that he has to prepare the players to last that long. No tactics, no stamina.
This is Kean's team, the one on which he wanted to be judged. The fans cannot lift such a poor set of ill-predpared and untalented players - if this side had a full house chganted non-stop they couldn't have beaten Liverpool reserves
Kean is there as long as Venkys own Rovers.
I am not renewing my season ticket now and putting cash into Venkys pocket.
When they clear off, I'll renew.

Love how all you deluded inbeds are getting your excuses in now so that you don't have to buy a season ticket for next season in the Championship.

Kean is doing a fantastic job, and how I laughed when that donkey Andy Carroll scored in the last minute.

You clowns laughed at the likes of Burnley when Fat Jack's money was bankrolling you and now you don't have a pot to p*ss in and are being forced to watch your team get dismantled, your 'best' players get sold and you team get relegated.
.
Venkys - I take my hat off to you, you are doing a better job than a team of Burnley fans could have done.

My brother and I have an idea to draw media attention to our plight - I predict that we shall already be doomed by the time we play Wigan. So let's turn up at the match and then when the whistle blows to start the match all walk out.
it has never been done before (well as far as i am aware) and will surely attract huge media attention even in India.
How can we get this organised?

Also come on guys - stop deluding ourselves, we are relegated. I was also at West Brom on Saturday. What chance do we have in our coming away fixtures really. We need action again - don't renew your STs and let's organise a real march through Blackburn. We need thousands not hundreds. What is wrong with these supine servile people who spout out "I'll always renew". They are missing the point. We all feel the same about our beloved Rovers but we can't just sit and take it. Surely?

HiIiiii, you go your way and there is nothing wrong in that, but believe you me ST and low gates are the main minutes of meetings at BRFC, Hunt has actually come out and said as much, so it's boycotting for me (and thousands more) as this hits them where it realy hurts. It's sad to say but watch your/our team disappear at the end of the season WHEN we go down, of the players will go, remember its just a job to them, it's us that hero worship them, long live the boycotters.

Before I start I have held a season ticket for 31 years, but this HAS TO STOP. The only way we can rid our club of the cancer that is Venky's is to boycott the club next year.

They seem blissfully unaware of the huge amount of money the club will lose next year when we are relegated. The season ticket early bird offer was conceived after the two recent wins to con people into buying now, don't fall for it. A crowd of under 1000 for the first game in the championship will remove Venky's.. If we simply keep putting up with this the club will continue to spiral down.

Turning your back on the club you have supported for many years is not easy but in this case continuing to support them financially will ruin the club. I plan to return when Venky's leave or they show some ambition by sacking Kean and investing in the team.

I didn't desert them last time they were relegated as the ambition and belief were there but this is an entirely different situation.

hi Hasslem....your excellent post encapsulated all the things I was going to say - so thanks from saving me from the terrible experience of writing down all my desperate frustrations from last night.

But having said that I will add -

That any single one of us on here could have 'managed' the team in a better way than Kean did last night.

If there are any people left (if ever there were any at all) that had any sympathy for Kean - then surely it is gone after the inept managerial display and his total dereliction of duty during the game.

Liverpool were their for the taking. Three points were there for the taking. All Kean had to do was organize the Rovers to play the game to take advantage of the extra man and put Liverpool under pressure and score a couple of goals.

But the manager did absolutely nothing tactically or vocally to achieve this...we just kept on playing the same old way we always do - simply relying on picking up the pieces from long balls and free kicks.

No skill no tactics no hope....

The footballing gods gave us every opportunity to take a big step towards securing our prem status last night and we ignored every offering and wasted the opportunity totally.

Not sure we will get another chance of a win between now and the Wigan game and even that would be beyond us currently.

On the floor this morning with disappointment.

Not quite accepted we are down and out finally now - as there are still points to play for - but have to accept we are almost out of the prem.

We need action again - don't renew your STs and let's organise a real march through Blackburn. We need thousands not hundreds. What is wrong with these supine servile people who spout out "I'll always renew". They are missing the point. We all feel the same about our beloved Rovers but we can't just sit and take it. Surely?
We need to what the political prisoners did at the Maze in the 80s and cover ourself in our own turds!

If you are going to go down to 10 men, then Blackburn are the team you want to be facing.
totally one-dimensional and that isn't Steve Kean's fault, neither is it his fault for the miserable effort from the Yak's first penalty.
If Blackburn had tried to get the ball down and pass it, get behind Liverpool's defence but that isn't their way and hasn't been for nearly forever, still lump it up, just what Liverpool wanted.

As long as the Venky's Kean and Anderson regime continues at BRFC the club is "le sh@gged" The results are awful, the tactics and heart for the game are non existant, and the financial state of affairs could only be classed as "criminal"
But what really concerns me is the fact that a "family club now has fan fighting fan, something i never thought i would see, I'm now almost 3000 miles from Ewood so matches are v few and far between, but to anyone that bothers to read this.... please please stop the infighting. protester, non ST renewal, and those who still believe that a cheering fanbase could still save us, and of course the guys/girls who just couldn't imagine a Saturday without Rover's. I have e mailed Andy Cryer to ask if he reads the comments posted on this column and if so why does he not put across our views in the strongest possible way. My feelings are the he has no 'back bone' he says that he puts across a fair view both from the fans and managers point of view but I disagree when Kean makes stupid comments/excuses the flaws are there for all to see yet never does Andy Cryer ask the pertinent questions - last night performance was abysmal against an under strength Liverpool side reduced to 10 men and Dunn - well past it but with an extended contract and more cash in his back pocket - a disgrace!!
Kean says there are more twists and turns to come - what a plank!!!

The biggest travesty of last nights game, was Scott Danns defending for the first goal. He just had to cover the line of the ball to the only Liverpool player in the box and he does not cover the line...instead he just jogs aimlessly on the 6 yard box and boom 0-1. Scott Dann is an absolute joke.

Unless defensively Mr Kean starts picking defenders who positionally know which way is up, we are going down.

Yes we need to completely starve these parasites of any cash. No fans coming to the games and no sales in the shop and the Venkys will be selling quicker than you can say "Cowboy and Indians".

If Kean is not picking Givet on the basis of our clean sheets against Wolves and Sunderland then he's even more clueless than I imagined. Perhaps you are right about Kean wanting consistency at the back, 102 goals conceded in 54 PL matches is very consistent.

I just don't know what I am going to do with my Saturday afternoons, or is it Sunday afternoons or Monday nights, the middle of the night, or whenever. However, I shall keep an ear close to the grapevine and pray that one day a heart may return to the club so that I can renew mine with it.

Venkys are the worse owners ever and Jerome anderson and kean should be charged with fraud, that aside we still were in a position of being 6 clear of relegation and Kean blew it with his awful managment and subs, playing against an awful liverpool team with 2 dodgy keepers and ten men he never brought on his only striker of the bench in Goodwillie, the one he said reminded him of rooney and he paid 3m for, you are clueless kean, your subs in the Bolton game and last night a disgrace, the lack of subs v Man utd are terrible too, Any chance of teaching the olsson twins how to block a cross? where is Givet you clown?Does Scott Dann give everyone free headers in training too? you and Erick Black/clement/Jensen are clueless, Losing all our best players makes it difficult but with a decent manager rovers would of still stayed up in the worse premier league i remember, you havent a clue kean resign and take the indian acid strippers and myles and Jerome with you.

Kean says we played well for the first 5 or 6 minutes??? Is this guy mathematically dyslexic or something? I dont know why I felt as angry and desperate as I did when that 3 rd goal went in. I have always expected relegation this season when they didnt sack Kean and our better players started sailing away into the blue yonder. I expected that goal last night at the death. Could feel it coming. Why is it that bad then when you know its coming?Venkys are responsible but did they even know what was going on last night or did they think it was a good game? What I accuse Kean of though is putting up with the circumstances he has had to work in. Being prepared to humiliate himself for the status of the job and the money instead of resigning and telling Venkys to find another mug. Would Redknapp, Moyes, SAF, Coyle, Howe, Warnock, Flitty anybody accept having players transferred in and out behind their backs and being told they cant select players in their squad because they wont pay them? Would they concoct stories to cover up for their negligent employers actions? Would they deflect their employers and their own inadequacies onto the helpless fans? No Steve, they wouldnt you moron.

Sorry mate, (its my age) but i totally agree with your input, I admire some peoples loyalty but it is beyond that to just keep going down in blind faith watching this standard of football whilst the owners, agents, and the manager feed there bank acounts.
When the money runs out as it surely will and the club is bankrupt (Take Rangers as an example) there wont be a club and its to late to boycott or protest then.
Fans need to do something now, what ever they can do to stop this lot bankrupting the club.

I think that we all have to resign ourselves to the fact that Rovers are relegated. On the bright side I think the Venkys could well consider selling and cutting their losses. Their is nothing left for them here. The gates in the championship under their ownership will be very poor and the players are not worth much and the likely hood of promotion minimal. A couple of players are premier league quality; Robinson and the leading goal scorer other than that the rest are championship players at best. The club will not be worth a lot after their disastrous tenure. So I wish the Venkys goodbye.

Last time we were relegated from the Premier League we had a pair of central defenders who spent most of a game trying to get as far away from each other as possible.
Hanley & Dann are doing the same, and its going to be the same result. If they play much farther apart they will need their mobile phones to keep in touch. And another thing. Would Kean please tell them not to stand near the centre circle at the same time - it leaves a very big gab between them and the goals. Just like lots of other occasions this season the game was lost by an inept back four. Why is Givet - our best defender - sitting on the bench watching? Has he been asking to be paid?

Unbelievable results tonight. Just shows theres no point doing the predictor. You dont know whats going to happen other than Rovers will lose with Kean. Why is he at the QPR game? Surely he doesnt think theres any point going to learn something for the game at weekend? Nah, he will have had a jolly day out, hospitality at rovers expense. Criminal

Could it be that Kean got it wrong? Well face reality we are looking at an abyss thanks to your inept Management
Inept I say in terms of
a. Team selection Jason Lowe our only defending midfielder left on the bench. Subs make no impact
b. Inept signings only Yakubu can be said to be a good signing - most have failed to make more than a handful of appearances - a joke
c. Inept running of the club _ Hughes focuses on the games where he sees points - Kean just likes to rub shoulders with the elite. Wigan have passion in the shirt sadly too many mercenaries at Ewood.
d. Inept planning - would Rovers with a fit Ryan Nelsen have sucumbed last night - we dont have a captain on the pitch and that is down to the Manager

Fans have a right to be angry with Kean and Venkys they have destroyed a club in 18 months and failed to be honest in their dealings - an Inept disgrace but will Kean resign no nay never(as the song goes)

I admire supporters who will be buy next years season tickets early but I fear more will vote with their feet and stay away.
As for the players I think 2 or 3 may be Premier League squad players - a few Championship level but with Venkys to run the show what does it really matter

Tough twist of results tonight which does not help the cause and puts winning all remaining games top priority but probably impossible to achieve

Why was SK at QPR? Who knows he may as well be attending a darts match for what tactics he will bring back to match up with Swansea, boy what a sorry state of affairs the circus clowns have got us into!!!

I asked the same question last season and was told subtly to wait and see - as it happened the official who replied left the club soon after while SK remains

Come on Telegraph lets raise the stakes with Venkys before we fall faster through the divisions than Portsmouth

Sorry, but i jumped to that conclusion long ago. the club we all knew is dead...even in the bad old days we knew the management/owners wanted the best for the club....all this shower are interested in is stripping the club to it's bones in order to line their own greedy pockets. Jack Walker's legacy is being systematically stolen by Steve Kean, Venky's and their associates.

The quote that you have produced relates specifically to one particular area of Burnley which I barely recognise as part of the UK let alone Burnley, I think most people from Burnley would agree. So your assumption that I'm "summing up my own town" is somewhat exaggerated. Unlike my assumption that in 3 years time Stanley, Morecambe and Fleetwood town will be your BIG games.

Losses? They bought the club for 25m and didn't clear the debt as promised, then:

+38m on transfer sales (replaced with about 15m worth).

+cut operating costs (directors/players).

+receive parachute payments for relegation

+sell all remaining valuable players (N'Zonzi, Olsson, Robinson, Yak, Dann, etc)

+any money they get for the resale of the club.

There's only one party at a loss here, and it certainly isn't Vileky's, Steve Kean or those crying on the telly.
