Dunn: Samba is welcome to stay at Blackburn Rovers

UPBEAT David Dunn UPBEAT David Dunn

DAVID Dunn insists Chris Samba will be welcomed back into the Blackburn Rovers dressing room after backing the want-away defender to continue giving his all for the club.

Rovers’ skipper handed in a transfer request last month, having strongly expressed his desire to quit Ewood, but with the transfer window shut and Samba still in East Lancashire, Dunn is confident Samba can play a key role in keeping them in the Premier League.

Kean will make a decision on Samba’s involvement in tonight’s visit of Newcastle this morning but Dunn believes he will be an important player and said: “As a club without question we are better as a team when Chris Samba is playing.

“The club feels he can still play a big part. I understand as a player you get an opportunity to move on in your career and maybe fulfil your ambition.”

Will the next Rovers manager please step forward.

There is more credibility and sense coming Dunny than any other employee there.

Even if he has swopped sides, perhaps he can see voicing your true opinion does no harm..

There is just no sense or logic to banishing Samba to the reserves.

blue_n_white99 - your absolutely right the next mouth piece for Kean and the Venkys with a 'new contract and fat back pocket' - if Dunny was a true Blue he would be up front and speak out for the Rovers fans and tell Kean and the Venkys that they are at fault for the 'hostility' against them by their own actions-but perhaps this is asking to much of a so called 'true blue'!!!!!!!!!!!!

the bottom line samba will be gone in the summer unless venkys sell up or come clean. There got to be chances in the summer with the owners and steve kean.

If Dunny speaks out then Mrs d will stuff a fat wad of dubious chicken products in his mouth to silence him. He will then spend the rest of the season sidelined with an "injury" before leaving in the summer. Oddly enough he will remain quiet about what is happening at Ewood.

We need him on the inside where at least he can have some influence until the despicable venky's do one.

he may as well stay we're doomed anyway and besides kean has struck a deal with sparky to release samba to QPR (thats just my opinion)...we needed to spend about £25-£30m this window...and what have we spent £5.50 with a money off coupon...Venkys you lot are a joke and in my opinion the FA should be able to vet individuals/groups that want to buy british clubs to make sure they have a buisness plan and ensure they stick to it....a song comes to mind.."promises and lies" by UB40

Easy win for the geordies tonight probably 7,0 Remember venky chicken soup is available inside the ground at half price when your dole card is shown.

Chris samba gets paid a significant amount of money each week to play football for Rovers and as an employee he should fulfill his contractual obligations to the club. People have worked hard and given their best to buy tickets to watch samba et al many earning through hard graft less in a year than samba does in a week. Samba needs to understand he has a privilidged highly paid job, stop sulking and do what he is paid for. We are all p*ssed off with what is going on at ewood but we are were we are and we need every player to give their best in spite of Kean and venkys and keep us up. Looks like we have seen what dunny got for signing his new contract, 30 peices of silver

What on earth is all this sudden slagging off of Dunny, the lad is a genuine blue and white and has always and will always give 1000% in a rovers shirt. Okay so he is not coming out and slagging venkys off but then again how could he. They are his employees, so it wouldnt be in his best interest.........wou
ld it????. Just look at any player who has criticised a manager or an owner before and the only person who ends up losing out,is the player and with the ruthless, thick skinned, ignorant, parasites that currently own our once proud club, then im sure he is just as worried about his future at the club he loves, as the fans are about the future of our club.. Dunny obviously just wants to play and help rovers try to get out of this dire situation we find ourselves in under the current regime. Why dont people just get off his back and start targeting the real and only villians here........VENKYS. My feelings towards kean has even started mellowing, he's just a pawn in their game........yeh, he's been guilty of saying and promising some **** stupid things sometimes but at the end of the day he can only do what he can do with the abysmal funds he is being given. Okay we would all love a manager like Martin O'Neil or Mark Hughes but until these muppets have finished their little P.R game or whatever it is they are playing, then i'm afraid Steve Kean or some other lower league manager who fancys trying to prove themselves in a higher league is about the best we could hope for. No self respecting manager with a decent background is going to come to a club to be promised so much and given so little and then told who to buy by a bunch a scum who dont know a thing about football. I really hope Kean does keep us up but it could well be a double edged sword as i really cant see them selling while they are in the premiership (hope im wrong). I doubt any protests will do good either as i would be surprised if we see them back at ewood again, especially with the growing condemnation they are recieving around Ewood and in the newspapers in India. These people are obviously very thick skinned, and have the morals of a sewer rat, so imho, unless we get relegated or they get bored, i cant see them moving on................( lets hope i'm wrong)

We need another penalty taker when Yakubu isnt playing I am sure we would have won if we had buried that pen.

I also feel Samba should be fined for refusing to play he is in breach of contract.

Dont mellow over Kean as he is still telling loads of lies ,why does he persist in lying is it his upbringing on a Glasgow estate or is he told to lie by someone at the club?
I hope the LET reissues all his quotes when we go down in April and put them next to his picture on the front pageof the relegation issue,

Venky's are cheep (geddit?) and have shown that they won't spend money on either decent players or a decent manager. They could have gone for Hughes or O'Neil, they could have stepped up and bought some players in the transfer window. They didn't, and will be content to see the Rovers go down, sell all the good players, take the money and then sell the club. They are business people, don't care about football, just making money. Hats off to the players we have for trying really hard, there is no denying the effort they put in.

Quite an interesting read, especially what they said when they first took over the club & they have the cheek to keep it up on their website http://www.venkys.co
