FUN-loving families can test their sense of direction as Redditch Council hosts a free orienteering taster session at Arrow Valley Park.
Harlequins Orienteering Club, in partnership with the council, will be holding the event on Saturday, May 18 between 10am and 1pm.
Orienteering is an activity (or sport depending on how competitive particpants are) which involves finding your way around a course using a map. Orienteers walk, jog or run the course and is suitable for individuals, partners and even families.
Council leader Bill Hartnett said: “For children in particular this event will promote self-reliance and independent decision-making, as well as getting them out into the fresh air to burn off some energy.
“This taster session is perfect for all age ranges and is a great recreational activity to get involved in and just one of the many events we will be holding in our parks this summer.”
