Blackburn Rovers target still part of West Brom plan
10:14am Wednesday 27th February 2013 in News
WEST Bromwich Albion have insisted that Jerome Thomas remains part of their first-team plans despite continued interest from Blackburn Rovers.
Thomas was due to join Rovers on a permanent basis on the final day of the January transfer window but they were unable to complete the deal before the deadline.
Michael Appleton, a former coach at Albion, has since been attempting to bring Thomas in on loan, reiterating his interest this week.
But, although not completely ruling out a temporary switch, West Brom assistant manager Keith Downing said the Baggies are likely to hang on to Thomas for now – even though the 29-year-old wide man was not in the squad for Saturday’s game with Sunderland.
Downing, assistant to Albion boss Steve Clarke, said: “Michael (Appleton) had the interest before the deadline day so he’s continuing that.
“We have a squad of 19, 20, 21 players at the very most, so from our point of view Jerome has been in and around it.
“He was out on Saturday as he was the 19th man but he was in the 18 at Liverpool and he played against Villa so he’s very much part of our plans here at this present time.
“It’s a decision for Steve (Clarke) but from the point of view of our squad size, Jerome is very much part of things here.
“Anything can happen over the next few weekends and you can be down to the bare bones.
“I wouldn’t say it's ‘highly unlikely’, as it’s Steve’s decision.
“But at the moment I would say Jerome is very much part of our squad, having had a part to play in recent times.”

Look elsewhere or aim to build in the summer where more (better) players will become available.

Blackburn Rovers fans planning to attend the forthcoming FA Cup sixth round tie against Millwall on Sunday March 10th should note that the rail network between London Bridge and South Bermondsey – the closest station to The Den – will be suspended on the day of the game.
Therefore, supporters travelling by train would need to get the underground from Central London to Surrey Quays and then walk to the stadium.
I know Surrey Quays area quite well and the pub on the corner across from the station is called 'Surrey Docks' and even though it is a Wetherspoon pub it is where all the Millwall nutters will congregate before and after the game...a very dodgy place best avoided!
If you want a few beers before the game best to go around London Bridge station before you get on the tube to Surrey Quays. And don't take the short cut through the local estate when you come out the station either.... but apart from all that then it could be a good day out for Rovers as we progress to the semis..!

Modan' posting about Venkys how rich they are like the royal family over there with palaces rolls royces and bodyguards.
India is a place of inequality of wealth distribution with
10% of the population are super rich owns 50% of the wealth in India
10% of the Indians are dollar millionaires owns 42% of the wealth
80% of the poor living on 10% of the wealth in India.
The gap between rich and poor is so vast that 50% of the population live on a $1 a day and and 50% of the children suffers from malnutrition in India.
India might be a rich country but the in equality of wealth distribution has led to one third on abject poverty and living in squalor.
India is the second fastest growing economy in the world but the 400 million poorest people are not benefiting from this booming economy in India it's the rich are getting more richer like the Venkys.
The corrupt politicians need to act in India and help the millions who are poor in India the people living in squalor and abject poverty.
Spending billions on space programs defence and buying rolls royces for elites when over one third of the population are hungry .
Modan's posting is about India cause the owner's of BRFC is in India and Blackburn has a large Indian population.
Me i just laugh it off cause modan is just boasting about India when one knows India has a lot of problem like poverty and corruption in the country,

g usually to strip it of any remaining value, then to either sell it of as a failed business or send it to the wall, which is why they set up the satelites with no monetry links to their main body ie; venkys London ,which owns B.R.F.C. but is not linked to venys India ofcourse. You'll also know that firms such as venkys have accountants that can make their accounts show exactly what they desire them to show, which is why the accounts and bank accounts concerning B.R.F.C. where quickly transfered to The Bank of India & their own paid accountants. I would therefore like to ask you,as someone who knows how Indian big buisiness operates ; What do you make of the situation at Ewood presently? And what do you think venkys plans will be for the Clubs future ? considering that the Clubs main assets have been cashed in over the last two years, leaving the Club in need of a very large cash injection to keep it afloat .. I would begratefull for your answer Sir ...R.T.I.D.

Rob Coar, what is your explanation for presiding over such a shambolic decline?. You are the John Prescott of football (without the gumption to get your leg over your diary secretary). For G0d's sake man, have you no self-respect? Just do the decent thing and resign. I don't know how you can live within the Blackburn community.

As for BRFC this was bought by Venkys of Pune India not as a profitable business as we know when Venkys bought BRFC the club had a debt of £25 million which Venkys took on board. The club is loosing money and Venkys are now keeping the club afloat with large cash injection from Venkys other profitable business around the world which made profits of £100 million last year.
Football clubs are a rich man's toy in their spare times and football club do not make profits it's just a sport people enjoy.Thats why the English sugar daddies have sold all our clubs foreign Billionaires.
Abromwich bought Chelsea and spent £300 million in this club to this date.
The shiekh at Man City has spent £280 million
Some billionaires will spend crazy money on their football clubs but some billionaires will not break their bank and spend crazy amount of money.
Venkys did promise to spend between £15 million to £20 million a year in BRFC.
Shebby Singh made statement recently saying the club was in healthy financial position than many clubs in the Championship despite Rovers being relegated and if the oucome was if Rovers failed to get promoted back to PL this season.

I think the Venkeys should reduce the wage bill by streamlining the management staff down to the people Appleton respects.Forget this season whats the point of second rate loan signings we have lent out better players than we can attract in.

Anybody that can't see the profiteering carried out by these 'owners' simply has their head in the sand. 35 million recouped in transfers alone, more when Rhodes is inevitably sold on, a lovely set of parachute payments and a whole host of dodgy dealings for the likes of Myles Anderson and Ruben Rochina.

Might be good addition on loan.
Surely the youngsters we have that play in england under 18's etc, one must be pretty good or worth a shot to build for next year.
As this year we are unless little bit lucky going to come up short. Which is fine as we will clear wages for a lot of the players down. And move on with motivated grop of ambitious players.

It is also how over 50% of football clubs are run these days. Barely legal deceit, barely legitimate dodgy dealing, minimisation of risk, agents all over the place and hangers-on a-plenty....all can be easily spotted at your typical English league club. The higher you go the richer and dirtier they all become.
SKY TV money gave 'birth' to these new breed of 'devil spawn' and gave the death knell to any semblance of decency that was left in our game.
The Venkys are no better or worse than others of their ilk who are everywhere around us in the game today.

The expectations of Appleton should be that he gets us promoted during his 2.5 year contract. That is what he has been employed to do.
He is barely a couple of months into that contract now and what a mess he had (and still has) to sort out. We cannot keep changing managers just because a few results don't go our way. We have no divine right to suddenly improve from our lowly position and start beating teams like Cardiff, Hull and Leicester who have been working on their squads for a couple of years to get them to this point now. It takes time.....
Appleton needs to be given that time to turn this mess that he inherited around - there are no better alternatives.
There are no top line managers waiting to come in - there are no money men waiting or wanting to buy the club. This is it.....sad but true. Support MA.
