Pederson, Lowe and Murphy - not quite the midfield to frighten the opposition! We'll do well to pick up a point tonight

Well that's it now lads

Only chance we had of winning today was if we got the first goal and managed to shut them out. Unfortunately we haven't figured out how to take the game to the opposition yet under MA.

Not funny anymore....Appy the defensive attitude you've instilled in the team gives the opposition the upper hand before a ball is kicked....confidence is a massive thing in football....instruct
ing a team to defend at all cost is not the way to win games....and winning breeds confidence.....Appy at this moment in time you are a backwards step for the club....changed your attitude/tactics

being overrun by another team out of form leading into this game, not a good sign, appletons defensive approach hasnt made the slightest difference in checking their advance, cant keep going into every game withthe same tactics, slowly getting worse and worse in terms of quality, nothing for rhodes and campbell to bite on, wouldnt have mattered if they didnt turn up today

Appy not doing well at moment K Gallagher says he is playing too narrow. Pederson Cambell and Rekik very poor. We have better players on the bench just itching to get a game. For goodness sake give them a game in second half. Why pay their wages if you won't play them. Olsen and Givet better than Rekik. Gomez and goodwillie better than DJ at the moment. If MA doesn't use subs in 2nd half he is becoming too stuborn for his own good and will show he doesn't know how to adust a game when he has a problem.

youre better off going for it in the long run, teams always fear you, three draws are equivalent ot two defeats and a win, nothing much worse than losing a match you went in to draw, you feel youve wasted your effort in not giving the other team hard time of running back to stop your attacks

I agree steve18gls - I feel really sorry for the fans who made the trip expecting something better than this sorry shower of rubbish that they saw tonight. The players let the fans down, and it is not for the first time this season, Murphy in particular is just not doing it - but there is no-one else in midfield either.

It is obvious that this squad - without the missing players - is simply not strong enough to compete against the decent teams in this division.

I think we all knew that anyway - but it still hurts when we see it proved like it was against Cardiff and was again tonight.

Venkys have to back MA now and let him bring in at least one decent midfielder...

just coming back from tonight game what a absolute joke to say we were not far from the play offs places you would of thought that these players would of been well up for the fight. How wrong one of the worst games i have seen i`ll start with the captain yes the captain Danny feckin lazy Murphy how appleton let him stay on the field ,must of completed all of 3 forward pass to one of our players. Please look at the second goal he is stood on the line behind jake for the corner not on the post yet made and i mean made no attempt to try and stop the ball fu(king ****. DJ and owe were very poor.Got to say if it was not for jake in the first half it could of easy of been 4-0 1st half. Leicester`s left winger was taking the mick out of Orr and Orr just took it .Real real disappointment would really like to hear what Appleton and the players have got to say about this just when we though thing were getting better certainly not from that performance and put us further away from the play off`s

the problem is 100% the manager's. I can see what he's doing, even what he tried tonight but instead of putting a team out that plays to the available players strengths he actually does the opposite and goes out of his way to highlight their weaknesses. its almost like a calling card to say i want to play 442, i want a target man and two quick wingers, now i'll put out a side that proves i'm right and the owners need to go and buy them. Utter rubbish. He's no intention of making the play offs and I can't really blame him as he doesn't like his playing staff and without the right investment he'll be potted; but doing his best to achieve the playoffs is what he's being paid to do. Every Rovers fan knows that centre mid is the biggest issue so why the hell would you take a man out of there and stick two, isolated lads up top who are probably the most lightweight pairing in the division. He's basically played 2 narrow banks of four, hoping we can make the most of a breakdown in their play and whilst their back four have stepped up put a range ball in between their full backs and centre halves for one of our lads to run on to. That and hope for a mistake that JR or DJC can latch onto, but that's not tactics, that's utter garbage and not what Rovers fans ever want to see. We want to go down fighting, creating chances, imposing ourselves on the opposition not this sh1te, hoping for a mistake. We've got one more point than we deserve out of the last three games, I think that's fair to say and isn't it just horrific to know that we've no chance the moment the starting 11 is announced. Deflated, frustrated and angry!

OUT WITH SHAW AGNEW SINGH HENDRY VENKYS AND MAYBE APPLETON.

We are crap Mate, pure and simple. To think that we have gone in such a short period of time from a mid table prem Club to one that needs 4 or more likely 5 loan players just to compete in this league, is not only heartbreaking but downright criminal. Just to think of the Club and squad that we had before 'the fowl ones' slithered into Ewood makes me retch . MA is doing all he can,but he's on a hiding to nothing... R.T.I.D. Since 1969
Agreed, not Appleton's fault. The problem is Venkys, as it has been all along.
Nothing to do with the Walker Trust then or are you excusing them because there were not enough of us true supporters prepared to pay for Premiership football?
Look Angry, Venkys bought a stable Premiership club, or have you forgotten.
The rest is history and well documented.
Do you ever criticise Venkys?
Exactly, the Walker boys never hid the fact that they didn't wish to own the Club, and it was an open secret that they had us up for sale for quite a while before anyone came forward with an offer, so they were out in the open about sellng .While ey had the Club though they left the running of it to the right people and didn't start cashing in by selling players to line their pockets, and when they did sell ,they sold us with a decent manger,a decent squad and directors worth their weight in gold (Coar being the exception) Also remember that the venkys didn't ring any alarm bells with the F.A. either, so the Walkers and the Directors were duped just the same. But as soon as venks had the Club, they made sure anyone who would object to what was coming next was either sacked or forced out to make room for less able.but more pliable staff or shysters who would put into action their systamatic dismantling and asset stripping of our Club, and make no mistake, this is exactly what they have done to leave our club in the precarious position that we are now in. Why was Berg sacked before he was allowed to bring his own list of players neded in the coming transfer window ? And then, why was Appleton not allowed his signings in the transfer window? Anyone who believes that it was a mistake with the paperwork has learnt nothing from the last two years, namely that the venkys control everything at Ewood, their arrogence will allow nothing less. The only answer i can come up with as to why it happened, is that the club has no further interest to them, especially after the frosty reception they got at Ewood recently, not to mention the equally frosty missile that found its rather large target before the match . I fear that they're only interested in keeping the club ticking along until they have the last largish parachute payment in their pockets come early next season,at which point in my opinion they could either strip us one last time and flog us cheap in the Middle East or asia (we've been touted around the Middle East since before we were relegated i'm reliably informed) or they'll strip us totally and send us to the wall along with venkys London (no connection to their other enterprises of course ) ..I Guess you and a few others would still refuse to criticise these bandits even then .... If leicester didnt win this game it would have been an injustice, what can you expect from jake kean when he has no breathing space to come out and catch the ball, you have defenders so deep they are nearly treading on his toes, each time the attacker showed more hunger to be first to the ball, all three goals came from routine crosses into the box, one things going to happen if youre giving good players free headers 5 yards out while youre doing nothing to put them off their concentration and timing,

Well said RoverInRotterdam,
These have been my thoughts all along but you have put it far better than I could. I have never trusted Venkys from day one after all the lies. Add to that their 'Silence' and I think they clearly have something to hide.

Of course I am critical of Venkys. They have been naiive and have foolishly taken the advice of self serving agents, consultants, advisors and washed up lower league directors, which is why we have now ended up with Appleton. For the record, I did not support Steve Kean`s appointment and he should have gone before we were relegated but having begun the campaign in the Championship it was ludicrous to force him out without a credible, strategic leader lined up. This was the fault of Shaw and Singh but ultimately Venkys for listening to them. So now we are lumbered with Appleton but we need to start looking for his replacement now, regardless of the compensation we will need to pay him.

I agree with a lot of the points you make in your good post Mr. Dutchy - but the critical flaw in the argument is that if the Venkys are purely in it for the money, then they would surely have made a smaller investment (than the one they will need to make now) and kept us in the premier league where the riches (just for being in the league!) are unparalleled compared to anywhere else in world football.

why would they sacrifice over 100 million from just two seasons prem money against 32 million for two years parachute money? It just does not add up. The Venkys are many things but stupid with money - nope -I don't think so...

You're right on that, the venkys are not stupid with money,or naive about business in general,so why leave the Club in the hands of a nameless agent and an obviously incompetant manger for so long? If the odious one wasn't told to 'walk' by his agent,he would still be at Ewood I'm sure,he was,as she said 'unsackable'. Why? why also has the Club been dragged down to such levels in just two years that we now have to rely n 4 possibly 5 loan sigings just to field a half decent squad ? why would the venkys not have the business nous to invest in the last window to give us the best chance of gaining promotion to the riches you mention? I'm not pretending that I know any more than any of he posters on here, but I just cannot ignore all the signs over the last two years that, in my mind point to a very corrupt regime at Ewood, and a winding down of the Club...
