Blackburn Rovers confident Kazim-Richards will stay

BLACKBURN Rovers last night remained confident Colin Kazim-Richards would be staying at Ewood Park until at least the end of the season – despite sources in Turkey expecting a move to Bursaspor to be confirmed today.
Rovers were left bemused at reports emanating from Turkey yesterday claiming that Kazim-Richards’ parent club Galatasaray had agreed to end his season-long loan deal at Rovers and sell him to their Turkish rivals.
The terms of his loan deal in East Lancashire mean that Rovers, Galatasaray and the player himself would have to agree to the cutting short of his stay at Ewood Park, with the club having had no approach from the Turkish giants.
Club officials insist Kazim-Richards’ representatives told them last night they were unaware of any developments, with boss Michael Appleton fully expecting to have him available for selection once the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
Turkish sources have told the Lancashire Telegraph Bursaspor are confident they will capture Kazim-Richards’ signing and expect Galatasaray to make contact with the Ewood Park outfit today.
Rovers owners Venky’s meanwhile had given the green light for the club to make Kazim-Richards’ stay in England permanent this summer – should Appleton decide he has a long term future.
Kazim-Richards’ departure would be a blow to Rovers’ hopes of securing an unlikely play-off spot after the Turkish international’s last couple of performances, with time running out to find a replacement.
Meanwhile, boss Appleton will today continue his search for new faces before Thursday evening as he looks to strengthen with at least three signings.
Departures from Ewood are also expected, with David Goodwillie understood to be attracting interest from several clubs including Championship rivals Blackpool.
Want-away French defender Gael Givet remains in limbo at Rovers with a shortage of suitors prepared to match his desired personal terms.
Givet’s representative has made it clear Givet wants an Ewood exit, unless a request for more money is accepted, but no official bid has yet been received for the centre back.
Paul Robinson’s future is another that is shrouded in uncertainty but it is understood Rovers would listen to offers for the former England number one - who is expected to resume training this week after a lengthy absence through injury.
Portuguese giants Benfica are chasing Rovers’ summer signing Diogo Rosado, who has struggled to make an impact since signing from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.
Meanwhile former West Brom defender Darren Moore will be unveiled as Blackburn Rovers’ new first team coach, after Gray Bowyer opted to stay with the development squad.
Moore, 38, has been working as a youth team coach at West Brom, where he worked with Appleton.
He joins assistant manager Ashley Westwood, Portsmouth’s former head of recruitment and fitness coach Chris Neville in making up Appleton’s backroom staff.

I suspect that the reports from Turkey have been a ploy by his agent to secure a contract at Ewood.
Players are notorious for performing well for a couple of games whilst contract negotiations are taking place.
A good example is David Dunn.
Who can honestly say that Dunny was worth his last contract extension?

as someone on here suggests - sounds like his agents are stirring it up a bit. simple, if he doesn't want to be at rovers - off you go and let the club that has your contract do what they need to do.
we need players committed to the cause at the moment, not ones that prance around on and off the pitch.

With so few of the "GIMMIE THE BALL PUNK" players left at Ewood who will get well and truly stuck in it's a breath of fresh air having him. Ignore the Turks they're simply trying to rock the boat. For £600,000 though I think we should get him signed and offload some of the Portuguese deadwood and deliver Rochina an ultimatum - perform or **** off.

If Rovers sign him up on the huge salary he is alleged to be on already, its a no brainer, as there is no way on gods earth he will get anything like that out in Turkey, or anywhere else IMO.
His agent is pressing the buttons to get him a nice juicy/wealthy continuation of his very attractive salary here.
It may well be that MA has been asked what valuation does he hold the player at, this based upon he will have only so much to spend !
Who knows what input he has got.

With regard to Dunny, what I said is that since securing his contract extension from Steve Kean after a couple of decent performances, he has not proved to be good value to the club - especially in view of the high wages he is on as a 'senior player'.
Dunny's injury record had been poor for years and the club should have linked his pay to appearances - (the fault of the club not the player).
Whether his few appearances since signing the contract extension have been down to injury, feigning injury, not being allowed to play - I don't now.
I've obviously touched a nerve - perhaps you could enlighten us all.
With regard to your comment about cheap seats - I sit in the centre of the Riverside where I have a perfect view of both halves of the pitch.
Finally, I have just read that Vince Grella has decided to retire after breaking down in his long awaited debut in the Australian A League.
