FULL TIME: Blackburn Rovers 2 Bristol City 0
4:57pm Saturday 5th January 2013 in News
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
GARY Bowyer's 100 per cent record as Blackburn Rovers' caretaker boss continued this afternoon with a comfortable win over Bristol City.
In front of just 5,504 at Ewood Park, goals from Danny Murphy and Grant Hanley were enough to see Rovers cruise into the fourth round of the FA Cup, as Bowyer made it three wins from three.
In a low key first half, Danny Murphy's eighth minute strike was enough to give the hosts a deserved lead.
The former England midfielder picked up a loose pass from Mark Wilson, drove forward and his 25-yard was helped into the net by goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
Rovers looked in control against a punchless Bristol city with Ruben Rochina having a strike cleared off the line and Colin-kazim Richards blasting over the bar.
Kazim-Richards also saw a clever curled effort tipped wide by Heaton as Rovers dominated without ever having to hit top gear.
At the other end Ryan Taylor's 45th minute was tipped over bar the otherwise inactive Jake Kean.
The second half continued in a similar fashion as the hosts doubled their lead on 58 minutes, with the first meaningful action of the half.
Ruben Rochina's chipped pass found the unmarked Scott Dann and, as he tumbled, Hanley was on hand to slide the ball home.
With the game effectively over, City continued to offer little resistance while Rovers carried on in second gear.
Martin Olsson saw a shot turned wide by Heaton, while Martyn Woolford volleyed hopelessly wide for the visitors.
Kazim-Richards was denied from close range late on as Rovers eased into the next round of the competition.

You lot are mostly to blame for the demise of Ewood.
If you all pay to watch the glory boys then there's money to spend on players and a decent management team.
However if you lot stay away then what do you thinks going to happen? Yep your learning fast- down and gone CYA.
Another problem you have had with the vast majority of fans is they were only at TRAMPWOOD to see the likes of Man U , Man c , l/pool etc etc in other words there weren't true wrovers fans, they were fans of the prem.
Sort your so called fans out then that's when the re-building will start comprehend boys and girls its as simple as that.

Come on you clever people playing russian roulette with the club, what's your answer?
Rovers will almost certainly go into administration without the Venkys, what's your plan to save us from extinction or is it all hot air?

The reality of the gate money is that Venkys are losing hand over fist....long may it continue. Congratulations to all who stayed away. Oh! by the way 8 ball, our lowest first team gate since 1991 - how ny Christmases have we had since then? You can work it out, can you?
Guys, you don't understand the way present day football works and hence saying this rubbish that if fans boycott Venky's will go. I will give you an example - Assume we sell 20,000 season tickets a year (never going to happen but just assume) even then that will raise just 5 million pounds a year. Now to put that in context, just to pay one player £50,000 a week will cost the club 2.6 million pounds a year. Rhodes cost (even before wages) us 8 million. So even if all the fans boycott it will only cost the Venky's only 5 milllion a year which is nothing in the big scheme of things.
So some facts to remember in future before flooding this forum with invitation to boycott...
1: The money is in TV and advertisement/merche
ndising
2: Venky's are not loosing money hand over fist - the loss is minimal I mean
3: They will not leave even if every single one of the fans boycott
4: The Jack Walker trust desperatley tried to find a buyer for us for three years without success before Venky's turned up so if they leave don't think a knight in shining armour (read Arab Sheikh) is going to come on white horse coming to buy us.
5: Also don't even think the fans will be able to buy the club and fund all the other expenses using the ticket money - those were good old days
Dangerous Dave, A Darener, IsEkersely playing and all the other supporters of the boycott, please have a good read of the above, accept the facts and support the club and the players.

Lowe lloks more comfortable at Right back while Vuckevic must start if fit - he has vision control and flexibility - he did not look out of place at fullback. Not sure we can afford Rochina - he is either brilliant or frustrating> you want all the strikers to score but they need a bit more awareness in the box chances went beeging because of taking the wrong option more than once. Rosado struggled to make an impact too often hustled off the ball easily but he will learn.
As for the crowd well the FA Cup is secondary to the Premier League in the money stakes whilst at Ewood the lack of programmes by 2.40and only 1 Catering hut open on the Riverside shows how much the club appreciates it supporters.
Well done Venkys - will you ever show your face at Ewood again or maybe you are worried you will be recognised like Lord Lucan. Just sort it out behind the scenes or cut your losses and go back to something you might know about - cos Football you do not

nchester and Liverpool. As a fan of Blackburn Rovers FC ,i did foresee the future that football has moved to another level after 2000 and a small town club like Blackburn Rovers FC would not compete with the big city clubs. In the 1990s things were different then Jack Walker bought players like Shearer for £3.5 million,£5 million,Flowers,Batt
y,Warhurst,Le saux,Ripley,Sherwood
,Newell ,Gallacher for £3 million and under. Now top class players are worth £20 million and over, which simply mean BRFC cannot compete.Walkers paid £7million for Andy Cole in 2001 and now the Venkys have paid £8 million for Jordan Rhodes.Blackburn Rovers FC have a healthy financial backing to get back to Premier League but BRFC cannot compete with the ten or twelve Premier League clubs.Even QPR with backing of two Billionaires found that life in the Premier League is tough.Attracting top qualty playrs to small club is not easy as it seems. We want Blackburn Rovers FC back in premier League as a mid table club with prudent spending on players like what Walkers and Robert Coar did throughout 2001 until 2010.Maybe Venkys need right people in the Boardroom to guide them how to run a English football club.Maybe the the people now like Shebby Singh and others in Boardroom are just not the right people.Only time will tell what lies ahead.

That's why I called them.
They automatically get carried away and start going on at the dingles regarding results when I as a season ticket holder will not get carried away with the results of late.
We have just been fortunate with the fixtures.
We've got a god awful Wolves on Friday to make us look like we've turned a corner.
Yes we beat Forest but McLeish is garbage and has negative tactics hence Oldham easily dumping them out of the cup.
These fortunate run of fixtures have pulled the wool over supporters eyes as well as the owners and I fear a few more wins against awful opposition will seeGB get the job for the season.
We need a real manager with a real back room setup.
The minute we get a few tougher fixtures, it will be back to blaming Venkys and Singh but as supporters we are to easily pleased.
No to Sven, No to Robinson.

If memory serves, Kilby was bemoaning the low attendances at the start of the promotion season. Some came back when it looked like you'd go up; "glory hunters" galore when you did. Down when you went into the "we will go straight back up" season then plummeted when you realised you wouldn't the following year.
Shock, horror; more people go and watch a high quality of football (from both teams), fewer when it's worse; what's so unusual about that?
Not a criticism or jibe at your lot, just an observation of the natural way of things at the smaller clubs. And before you jump on me thinking I have a misguided belief we are not one of those, I would certainly include Rovers. In fact virtually every club, large or small, sees a proportionate drop in attendances when they get relegated. Any argument of "dyed in the wool", "through thick and thin" supporters against "glory hunters" is fatuous at best.
We do have of course the additional demoralising effect of the incompetent owners which should be factored in.

India's Billionaires are powerful people they controlled the economy of India and bought out many top firms in UK like Corus,Land Rover/Jaguar,Tetley Tea,Blackburn Rovers FC,QPR FC .With India destined to become economic superpower by 2025 these Billionaires of India are in for more billions.India will have the third largest economy by 2025 and second largest after China in 2035.Venkys have funded £8 million for Jordan Rhodes and spent millions on other BRFC players too.

The Rovers board may have been 'delighted' at the time but trust me, given half a chance to turn the clock back, anyone associated with the running of BRFC WOULD NOT sell to those parasites Venkys.
So, what is my problem? Read and understand this: Venkys, however they got their hands on BRFC, have systematically destroyed a 20 year legacy due to their blatant ignorance of what Blackburn Rovers is about and football in general.
Also, suggesting I stay away whilst you support Rovers through thick and thin is comical. I very much doubt you have traveled the length and breadth of the country supporting BRFC over 35 years, as I have sunshine, so think twice next time you post such tosh.
Finally, I want you to explain in detail what you mean by 'your lot'?

Venkys paid £23m for a premiership club with a squad worth £60m and a debt of £21m, and average gates of 25,000.
The WT sold because it was costing them £2m-£3m a year to run, and they finally got someone who came along promising they would invest in the club and respect the traditions.
So where are we now?
Losses at £2m a month, all the debts still there,(but to Venkys in India rather than Barclays in the U.K.), playing squad worth £20m? average gates below 15,000.
'Our lot' were doing a half decent job by comparison.
If 'your lot' had left it alone and simply invested the money as they promised the club could have been a growing business. But no, the same ignorant and arrogant views that come through in your posts have dragged a proud club deep into a black hole.
And like the famous black hole in india, calling it by a different name won't help.

Once again your post is littered with utter ****. When Rovers dropped into the championship in 1999 and returned to the Premiership in 2001 the average attendance was between 19,000 and 21,000 - NOT 15,000! so get your facts right... oh hang on though, you support Rovers through thick and thin so you'd have already known that wouldn't you? Obviously not because you were probably running round the school playground in your Man Utd back then....
Everyone of your posts is the same boring pro Indian **** and NOBODY IS INTERESTED! Do you understand that? Nobody gives a to55 what f*cking Indian businesses own what company or who Britains richest man is! Does he own Rovers? NO! Indias richest man wants to buy Utd eh? So f*cking what, no body is interested!
All we care about is Blackburn Rovers and how those w4nkers Venkys have all but destroyed a football club and made us the laughing stock of world football in 2 years.
If you think Venkys will ever turn Rovers into a profit making football club with their atrocious track record then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. Venkys have brought nothing but carnage, embarrassment and misery to a once proud football club. All Venkys have managed is to suck the life and soul out of Rovers and you think they're willing to invest? Don't make me laugh.
If they want some good advice I'll give it them for free: Sell up and stick to what they know - chickens and cricket. That goes for you too modan.

Walkers and Robert Coar sold this club to Venkys of India and they were delighted at that time.So what is your problem? Please lower your tone ,do not swear or use f words against the Venkys or current Blackburn Rovers management, players ,owners or staff. The players are happy at Ewood Park so is the management.
In 1990s then late Jack Walkers time this club was is in old division one the ground was like cow sheds the players were from old first and second division. It was Steel multi millionaire Blackburn born and bred Jack Walker spent millions to buy players from Premiership Clubs like Shearer,Sutton,Hendr
y,Le saux,Flowers,Sherwoo
d,Batty,Gallacher,Ri
pley,Berg,Newell which won BRFC the league in 1995 season. He appointed King Kenny Dalglish of Liverpool as manager of Blackburn Rovers FC.At that time football was another level ,when top players were costing around £3 to £5 million .Today after 2000 football have moved to another level where top players cost around £20 to £50 million.Only some of top CLubs in premiership clubs have such financial muscle to buy the top quality players.
Blackburn Rovers FC since 2001 was a prudent spender like they bought Andy Cole in 2001 for £7 mllion and ever since 2001 to 2010 Blackburn were not top spenders in the Premiership league.Just a mid table mediocre club with average gate of 25,000 and under. The WAlkers were about to sell the club for over two years and there were only two intested parties were intrested in buying BRFC one a Indian man based in MiddleEast and the Venkys of Pune,India. The BRFC board under Chairman Robert Coar and the Walker family were delighted at that time to sell BRFC to VEnkys. We have no other choice but to accept Venkys as current owners of BRFC and move on.Venkys have made a mistake by sacking SAm Allardyce an appointing Steave Kean as manager plus some of the rumours of that Venkys were going to sign Ronaldinho and Beckham which didn't materialised but it was true Venky did approach Ronaldinho but the lad was home sick so he wanted to go back to Brazil.
Many top fooball clubs in UK are sold to foreigners ,the Multi millionaires of UK wanted to sell off top football clubs to Billionaires in Russia,USA,Middle East ,China India and Malaysia. Some clubs have had lot of investments from their new owners from abroad like Manchester City,Liverpool,Chels
ea and Arsenal.Venkys did promise Brfc Investment of around £5 to £10 million a year.I think right now we need to calm down as BRFC supporters ,Venky have made a mistake in the last two years and if they could appoint a right manager and allow him more transfer funds then who knows BRFC could be back in Premier League again soon.So we need to wait and see again what the future holds for BRFC.Brfc is not a laughing stock ,Bolton,Leeds,Man City,Newcastle,Notti
ngham Forrest were all relegated so BRFC are no bigger club than these clubs.

'Walkers and Robert Coar sold this club to Venkys of India and they were delighted at that time.So what is your problem?'
Whats my problem? Is that some joke question? I've already answered that in response one of your previous cut and paste posts but just incase you forgot I'll answer it again:
They may well have been delighted at the time but if they could turn back the clock there is NO WAY they would've sold Rovers to Venkys knowing the absolute misery and shame they have brought to the club and surely even someone as biased towards Venkys (because they're Indian) as you can understand why? Just look at the carnage they have caused!
Every one of your posts is just the same repetitive tosh about billionaires from India and various countries. The facts are you are constantly attempting to convince Rovers fans that we should be grateful for Venkys involvement in Rovers. Grateful for what? They are a disease within the club and quite frankly a school boy would've done a more professional job of running a football club.
Trust me, BRFC IS a laughing stock. And the only people responsible for that are Venkys - 100% without any doubt. They are an absolute joke and have destroyed everything good about Rovers.
Nobody is saying Rovers are any bigger than the clubs you mention and Rovers have no divine right to be in the Premier League but there is one simple answer to Rovers demise in such a short time - Venkys.
Now rather than cut and paste another of your pro Venkys tosh in another desperate attempt to make us all feel grateful of their involvement, realise that until they sell up and go away, BRFC will never ever be the proud, honest, well run family club that the good folk of Blackburn were once so very proud of. Fact.

For the millionth and final time I don't care about other clubs, only Blackburn Rovers.
The ironic thing is of all the clubs you mention not 1 of those owners has made such an absolute shambles of running a club as Venkys. They've well and truly cornered the market in how to destroy a football club in as shorter time as possible and win first prize for asset stripping and doing things on the cheap. They have spent ZERO of their so called wealth on Rovers, ZERO!
As for staying away from Ewood I did not renewed my ST, nor did half my family members, some who have been going to Rovers for 50odd years and why? You've guessed it - Venkys. The poison from Pune. Club wreckers.
I'll buy Rovers in a couple of years when Venkys have sucked every last asset from it and the value is in the region £100. Then I'll approach Messi and Ronaldo eh? What a joke.

There is not one aspect of the club that has improved since they took over, and I know you like lists so.....
League position has dropped,
crowds have dropped,
squad value has dropped,
club revenues are down,
sponsorship is down,
club losses have increased,
club debts have increased,
clubs reputation has fallen
manager turnover rate is the worst in history
If you cannot tell me what has improved, by comparison, then please just say nothing, because if you give us another rant about how marvellous and rich India is I will start another list,
Things in which India still leads the world,
Poverty
Malnutrition
Sex-specific infanticide
Oppression of Women
Child Labour
Which kind of puts 'we bought poundstretcher' in the shade.
So just once, as a Rovers fan, without resorting to critcising Walkers Trust or other Blackburn fans, can you tell us why you support Venkys, and how Venkys buying Blackburn Rovers can be shown to be a good thing for Blackburn Rovers ?

As for India a second fastest growing economy in the world after China and will become economic superpower by 2025.Britain will no longer give economic aid to India by 2015 as the the British Government told parliament that India now is one of the richest country in the world and the fourth biggest military might in the world, space program can fly rockets and put up sattellites and bought British Steel,Land Rover/Jaguar ,Tetley Tea,Northern Foods,Blackburn Rovers FC,QPR FC, NEW LOOK,VOI JEANS,LAXMI MITTAL an Indian richest man in UK ,India defenitely does not need economic aid.
As for India's crime rate as you say there is more murders, rape in USA and South Africa.Gunmen in USA kill small childen, women gets raped in USA every 13 seconds.
India is the World's largest democracy with free press, free votes, free courts, free to practice your religion whether you are Hindus,Muslims,Chris
tians,Buddhist,Jewis
h etc etc.India did not invade other countries or attacked any countries.India was at war with Pakistan tthree times and China one time over a border disputes.
India has 1.2 Billion people and has 400 million people on poverty while 600 million are well off .Thats is called free market economy where some are rich and some are poor just like USA and UK.Indian government is spending £70 Billion a year on welfare to lift millions of Indians out of poverty every year.India has just started handing out money to the poor just like state benefits for the unemployeds in UK.It's the biggest challenge India has to tackle to eradicate povertyin India.
