Fingers crost we beat the dingles but please Berg sort out Robinson. The amount of long range shots that are now beating him is embarassing, his weight has also ballooned. We really need a keeper to backup and challenge Bunn should never have been let go. Other changes needed also, lets start with Vuckcevic and Richards who made a big impact when he came on last night, prior to his introduction we lacked anything up front and no service again for Rhodes. Changes in midfield needed a.s.a.p and also Givet needs to be brought back as nobody seems to be taking any leadership. big job on your hands Henning and changes needed a.s.a.p before this season turns really sour.

GAZHAY - you are spot on with every change that is needed - whats really worrying is that its 5 or 6 and he made 1 after the Millwall debarcle and he got that 1 wrong as the lad (King) and a stinker.

I am going to be going on Sunday more in hope than expectation but lets keep it in perspective - we have done much better away from home and Burnley are no great shakes themselves - a fact that all the Dingles who come on here always ignore.

As soon as we put another striker along side Rhodes instead of this just behind rubbish we split the two the defenders that were smothering him, this helped to create the space for his goal (not rocket science). It will take Henning Berg time to turn round the playing staff after what has gone before but we need to get on the front foot in the center of Midfield, "Murphy"?????

Everyone will have a different opinion, but for me it's the same old problems, far too weak in midfield, especially wide players not defending well or contributing. I wouldn't bring Givet back, he's too slow for this team. I would play 4-4-2 with a physically stronger midfield.

The new Batistuta (Formica) on the right tries hard, but his defending is pitiful and he contributes very little to the attack. Difficult to know why the managers persist with him. I would play Lowe on the right, Pedersen on the left with Murphy and Etutu in the middle, perhaps not so creative but far more solid.

Richards and Rhodes playing up front. King looked lost out on the left in the first half hour, first time I've seen Richards last night and he looks a much better player than King.

Rochina is still just a substitute, he will improve once he realises that he has team mates.

Its quite amazing what a couple of bad results can do for fans opinions of players...three weeks ago according to the vast majority of fans Kazim- Richards should have been kicked-out of the club cos he was absolutely rubbish and a liability to the team. Then they said that Berg should play Rochina every game and we should build the team around him! Now they say he shouldn't even get a start! In that same time frame fans said that Murphy was rubbish - then he is great - and now he is rubbish again....

I just hope Henning Berg has a more educated and knowledgeable view of his players capabilities than most of us fans have....

But saying all that - I think Vukevic should be in the side in place of Formica, Nunes should be on one of the wings and I would have Gomes or KR playing alongside Rhodes. Pederson or Lowe should start instead of Etuhu.

No natural right winger, formica drifting into the middle far to often! Do they not produce wingers like stuart ripley anymore? In trainning our "wingers" need to watch a few vids on how to actually take a player on a put a decent ball in the box!

Corners that dont get pass the first man, people who cant pass 5 yards in front of themselves, long balls up to Rhodes who when he controls them doesnt get the support needed because we have two lazy **** in CM

I hope that Dunn, Pedersen, Henning and all the long serving players and staff are emphasising just how imporant Sunday's game is to the fans, but without frightening the living daylights out of them. The fans can forgive many things, but one thing they will not forgive is a bad performance and defeat on Sunday. They will accept a draw. But a defeat never. The team would go down in history as the team that lost us 34 years of unbeaten joy.
I am sure they will go into the match wanting to show the fans of both sides that they are the best. That they can rise to the occasion and that they will make sure that the Rovers fans leave the ground in high spirits, leaving the Burnley fans to once again run amok in their town.

History counts for nothing in this clash. I would be feeling a whole lot better if we didn't have the most static midfield in the division. Murphy is a disaster, and to make him captain just compounds this fiasco. When we got relegated I said we should have a go at getting Jay spearing from liverpool, he went to Bolton and we went for murphy. Murphy is keans parting gift he is bordering on useless. We needed energy in midfield and shebby and kean sign a pensioner. We had enough old heads in that department with Peds and dunny, we needed to give midfield some legs and power after losing Nzonzi and letting petrovic go without giving him a chance. All in all this has been a disaster. GET MURPHY OUT of the team. Get someone with some legs in it. You need grafters in this league, not passengers.

Henley isn't terrible at all, he's young and inexperienced and the only way he will get experienced is by playing. People getting on his back will dent his confidence and stop him trying to play his game and stunt his development. He needs encouragement because he looks very promising. Ok there's not much of an end product as yet but he's getting into good positions, working exceptionally hard to get up in support of our " right winger " (I use the term loosely) and trying to influence the game going forward when he could so easily play simple square balls across the back four or go back to robbo for a big hoof. A few years back the hoiletts and olssons were in his position and with first team action developed very quickly into very good players. The point is there is no lack of effort on his part and I would never call a player terrible for trying hard to influence the game, robbie savage built an entire career by putting more effort in than anybody else on the pitch. At least he's putting the effort in which is more than can be said for most of last nights starting line up.

No, I think you'll find, I have never changed my opinion of Murphy who is Rubbish, always has been rubbish since he arrived, and is still rubbish now he is supposedly fit. Standing there pointing for someone to make a challenge when he is nearest the ball sums up this lazy slug. Why is he captain??? He doesn't lead by example. And his buddy Etuhu, crikey what happened to him. Both out, Lowe and Peds in formica out for vueky on the right and gomez and rthodes up top for me, if he's fit.

Well then, a sensible articulate Dingle comment. Were they all but like this one. Understandibly biased but rational.

But then I read his later posts and he reverts to type and goes on a slanging spree.

The first time you have played us in recent history with anything like an equal side. Interesting to read your posts and how you are beginning to realise the gap has dramtaically closed. Correct BFC are no great shakes either.

Some serious money needs spending in January. Although, it will take a lot more than money to repair damages if we are beaten at that shed up the M65.

I'm not the one seeing the players on a daily basis so I think I'm out of my depth in questioning the team and formation but you can't help but think there is a better way than this.

Everyone can see that Rhodes on his own with Formica being the man to supply him just isn't working. The defence looks lost at times and the midfield is just a bunch of weak links.

The football we are playing certainly looks better than when SK was pulling the strings but we are still incredibly weak in various areas and that can't change until January, whoever is in charge.

Berg should do this Berg should do that he has no more idea than Kean had!! Get real people he is only there because he was brought in on the cheap - look at his previous managerial posting at Lillestrom it makes Keans career look palatable at least his Keans results were in the top flight not a tin pot Norwegain league

tbh, The only thing that I would not forgive is a repeat of last nights performance from both the players and the manager.

Defeat is never an easy pill to swallow, especially if the performance is as dire and woeful as last night, Losing honourably in a hard fought battle that gives the respect the derby deserves would at least raise some consolation that it wasnt for lack of effort.

But of course we won't be losing..

History doesn't win matches. Mr Berg you got some sorting out to do starting with your back room staff and a few of your choices need to be seriously looked at. Not a good start. New managers usually have instant effect?????

He did have an instant effect....we dropped down the league.

After last night, I am finding it difficult to care about Sunday. The boo boys who bullied Steve Kean out of his job can feel justifiably ashamed of themselves. He achieved three times as many point as Berg is the same number of games and was top of the table for his last one. This not suggest that Kean was a good manager but it certainly points to the fact that Berg is a bad one. What qualifications or credentials does he possess to manage at this level? Absolutely none! I confidently but pessimistically predict that we WILL be beaten by Burnley. History and vitriole has nothing to do with this, they simply have a better team. Our defence is woeful, our midfiled is weak and we have one striker operating without service. Berg has the same squad that were at the top of the league after seven games and now closer to the bottom. If being a popular Rovers legendary centre half is all the qualification needed to be a manager or coach at Ewood someone should have a word with Glenn Keeley.

Yes you have as good a chance as any to win this game, after all we are way way short of what we had over the last 20 years but we still have players worthy of destroying any team in this league...... Merlo rabbit is right in his assessment and I would add Berg's qualifications are far superior to Kean's. He at least did play the game at a very high level and had great managers over him. He will have learnt a lot from them and once he can get rid of Kean's buys and stamps his mark on his own team then we can start to progress. This transition period will have its ups and downs but we are far better off since the odious one left. Maybe not in league position but in starting to get the club going in the right direction.

Im not even sure we are equal. we are damaged goods. Kean has left a mess of defensive failings. Id never wish him back. I think the pressure is on Burnley. I agree that even in the championship it must be a very nice wage that Berg is on Benal13...but surely if he is a manager who wants to make an impression in the game and go on to higher things - then money doesn't matter too much - its the results that count. Well at any other club its the results that count....! Not sure at our place anymore. And yes you and a lot of others on here always questioned why we signed Murphy (with just cause it seems) but to be fair to the guy he came to us on the back of a couple of cracking seasons in the Prem and Europa Cup for Fulham. But we certainly have not seen the same Danny Murphy here yet.

Never mind history if we don't start sorting this bloody mess we will be History. The majority of this so called team and I use the word loosely have no idea of the of this local derby and it means nothing to them this mess is now in its third year of decline and what are we really expecting with this lot still running the club if they are who knows we never see or hear from them,what other club operates on these lines,is Sebby or whoever still picking the team as there's no change from Keans,blacks and now bergs selections when it's obvious to all that the formation,level of fitness,tactics,subs

We're well aware you've not lost 68 games. The reason for that of course is because Rovers have been in a higher league for most of those 34 years. When on the rare occasion we've been in the same league, Rovers have simply disposed of Bonleh like a unwanted carrier bag.

Apparently all that's going to change though on Sunday according to the string vest brigade. The bitterness and anger will reach an all new level at Scaffold Moor as the sh1ttest Rovers team for many a year might just once again shatter the dreams of all the easily pleased desperados from Envy FC.

I doubt Berg has any say on who is to be his back room staff.

We all think we can manage BRFC better than the next person so we will never agree on the best team selection but after reading many posts over the last few weeks the following seems to be generally true.

Givet must start
We need to play 2 up front at least in home games
Murphy needs to sit on the bench till he can get his act together
Formica shouldn’t play in the same side as Rochina. I prefer Rochina but that's another argument.

The point I'm making is HB as had 6 games now and still can't seem to grasp what most of us agree on. When B Orrful was shipped out I thought, here we go, a manager who’s not afraid to do what is necessary. But now! It's almost the same starting 11 each game and leaving the subs far too little time to make a difference. We were ok in the Hudd, Birm, Posh games and I understand we need to keep a settled side but each game is different and that's why we have a squad.

Goodness knows I want HB to be successful but if he can’t get the basics sorted then we will never see the PL again. Let’s face it, the way we’re playing will see us come straight back down should the miracle happen and we get promoted this season.

I know it's only 6 games and totally unfair to criticise HB but should the unthinkable happen on Sunday, apart from the pain that would bring, we could find ourselves just 3 points off the being in the bottom 3.

Get your finger out HB, kick some backsides and get us on a winning run, starting with Bunleh. I know you inherited some poor players but played in their correct positions, with proper instruction and a lot better fitness we may have a chance of the play-offs.

Let's face it, this is the best chance Burnley have had of beating us in 34 seasons and in those 8 competitive games. If they cant beat this disorganised, underconfident jumble sale of a team, then go help us. Come on, banter apart, Burnley are clear favourites for the first time in 2 generations, or 3 if you're from Shad or the Stoops. So who's most of the pressure on then? I would say that at least half of the Burnley regulars won't have ever seen a Clarets win in this game and you can say that history doesn't count for much on the pitch but in the stands, a win means so much more to Burnley fans than it does for us because we've been more used to it. Nerves on the day can transfer onto the pitch as the last 2 league games demonstrated. When Rovers went in front in both, the Burnley fans didn't really get behind their team. Never has the first goal meant so much in a game. If Rovers were to get it, fans confidence after a dysmal week would be on the up. If Burnley got it (and they haven't scored in the last 4 Rovers games at the Turf) they would lift the roof and I fear we could capitulate again. 34 years of history at stake. I just hope Berg gets it right this time because i fear the tag of being the first Rovers boss to lose to Burnley in 34 years will be too much for some, especially with a demoralised crowd and a visit of high flying Cardiff to lookn forward too next fri.

First went on the Turf watching Rovers FA Cup 1960, BeeHole End. My favourite game, Boxing Day 77-78 season with memories of Manager Jim Smith walking off at half-time, along with Wagstaff, waving to Rovers fans on the Longside, 3 up and loving it.
Sunday won't be as good maybe but you Dingles had better believe we won't be rolling over for this one.

Hey up, well I've been supporting Burnley for 40 years so I remember when we had the upper hand in the early 70's and Blackburn didn't really register. Then things gradually changed , and by the end of the decade the derby was a massive occasion.. Since then ,it's been grim and hard and at a certain points scary..not helped by a certain plane flying over the ground, but I did kind of smile at that..good effort!,But it did make me feel id like to get back for that.So having fought our way back, off our own back , it seems we may be back on an equal footing with a chance to put that to rest. Certainly from what i read it seems Blackburn fans are nervous , Is it that for many Blackburn fans it'd be the turning point when we once again get the upper hand for the first time since 79.? I dunno, but I tell you what , I prefer it when we are battling on an equal footing cos I'm already excited about the game and hope for a really hard fought fair battle and a good one. I don't think it's as important for us to win as blackburn, if only because for them it'd be 3 losses on the bounce and questions would seriously be asked about Henning Berg. What I would say to Blackburn fans is welcome to the championship..it happens all the time!. I also should say we are proof positive that you dont need mega millions in order to succeed, Weve done it, so crack on and knuckle down lads!
By the way , I'm travelling 500miles to see the game, and I'm bringing my young lad. Poor bugger has said he's not interested in Chelsea anymore and now wants to support Burnley.Not sure I have the heart to encourage him or dissuade him ! Let's hope he doesn't have the next 30years I've just had! .

I agree, the bonleh unwashed will be able to go peacefully to their graves if they achieve their lifetime ambition, wishing to see at least one victory over the mighty Rovers. One victory, thats all they require, just one, no title, no FA cup no league or European. The measure of a Bunleh FC's success is just one victory over their much bigger neighbours. Oh how its tearing them up, eating away like a festering puss filled sore. Just one win and then they can die nice and peaceful.
Its quite sad really isn't it, that you have to measure your success in this way,
Question, if you win, will you have a plaque made have the team paraded in an open top bus. Maybe you will engrave a trophy and put it in your empty cabinet.
