Today's match is tough....!!!!
C Palace are a young energetic team and they have some V good up and coming players.
Something, i'd like to see at BRFC as we have too many older statesmen.
Yes we do need the older experienced players, but the're not able to last the 90 minutes we require and football is fast paced especially in Premiership.

We may already have the players at the club but the're untried and untested as yet. Lets hope they get a chance and establish themselves especially the portagese contingent.

I think we will need to concentrate on building up our younger players and creating a bigger and better football academy in order to just stay within sight of other major football teams.

Hence, I am in favor of bringing in young potentials from around the world but of course we have to nurture our own young players in England also.
I actually envy Palace as they have many exciting players destined for the top.
I know it will be tough against Palace and obviously would like 3 points but will have to settle for 1 point at the least.

I'm quite happy with the team selected to play at Palace and lets hope we get a result today.......!!!
I wish we could buy some of their exciting players like Zaha, etc..
but i know they will go to top clubs in premiership...!!!

2:35pm

Holloway wont be taking charge of team for Palace but expected to be unveiled to the crowd.Ian Holloway

2:24pm

TEENAGER Adam Henley makes his first appearance of the season as new boss Henning Berg makes four changes for this afternoon's trip to Crystal Palace.

Henley replaces Bradley Orr at right back, with Danny Murphy in for the injured Jason Lowe, Markus Olsson on the left wing and Martin Olsson at left back.

The clash has been given extra spice by Palace's appointment of Ian Holloway as their new manager this morning.

ROVERS: Robinson, Henley, Dann, Hanley, Martin Olsson, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Danny Murphy, Dickson Etuhu, Markus Olsson, Jordan Rhodes, Colin Kazim-Richards

SUBS: Kean, Orr, Formica, Rochina, Ribeiro, Vukcevic, Rosado

Totally agree - Black has to take some share of the blame at the state of the Rovers squad and set up - he has been Keans no2 for over 12 months and is paid hundreds of thousands of pounds and has failed to halt our continued football demise.

Some Rovers fans think because he's over seen a couple of 1 0 scabby wins over inferior opposition that Black is somehow absolved of all his previous failings and limitations as a coach.

Berg needs to bring in QUALITY coaches AND quality players ASAP or our slide down the football pyramid WILL continue.

Hi - Sure, I don't disagree that ultimately Venkys must take the vast majority of the blame - I don't think anyone could argue with that - they are the ultimate nightmare owners.

But the point I was simply trying to make about Black is that he is a jobing 2nd rater that you can find anywhere in the lower leagues - if we really want to halt our footballing declin we need, not only to clear out this shocking squad but also bring in proper top coaches - this "jobs for the boys" culture that has gone on over the last 2 years HAS TO END.

Holloway was never going to get the job..it had to be a buddy of Hendry to keep him in a job and keep a certain agent in commission cheques. I agree with all you say but my fear after the last two years is can Venkys run the club properly, or indeed do they want to. Are they prepared to spend the money needed to have a successful team and backroom staff? The history since they have been here says no......In my opinion they have spent nothing of their own, even the 8 million for Rhodes came from the Hoilett / Samba sales and the parachute money. I look forward to the day they actually put some money into the club, but I won't hold my breath.

May I please be the first to call for a concerted chant of BERG OUT at the next home match. I would lead the chant myself but I will probably be boycotting the club.
To Shebby, the Snake, Singh, the self proclaimed saviour of the club may I suggest you just slither quietly away and go and advise someone else on how to ruin a football club.
According to Andy Cryers tweets, Holloway didn't get the job because SINGH didn't want him. End of story. This after Holloway came top of the FANS poll.

Singh out.

Ironic isn't it??? Mick McCarthy and Ian Holloway's new teams both won. Get ready for the Kentaro monkeys to clock on and plead for more time and blame the supporters.

Guys grow up. Berg's simply watching the performance of the team he's inherited. There is no magic wand but hard hard work will sort things out.

Should have listened to the majority of the fans and gone for Holloway. Looks like we went for the wrong manager. Holloway proves he can do the biz at any club. Yet again cheap option for Venkys, pitty they dont sell chicken burgers at ewood for half price!!!! I know its his first game but it doesnt look good.
Holloway was never going to get the job..it had to be a buddy of Hendry to keep him in a job and keep a certain agent in commission cheques. Ewood is rotten to the core and the quicker people realise that the better!! The sooner these mercenaries are starved of money the sooner the club can recover.
What a complete pair of plonkers. Holloway wasn't even in charge for this game. He was watching from the stands and you smell the coffee are a Burnley plant, you're a dingle nothing more nothing less. So go away and watch dingle football instead. Bergs been in charge for three days and you come on here gloating in defeat. Go on, and hand your shirt to someone who really cares. Back stabber lower than Jerome Anderson. We don't need you back stabbing from the off, go on naff off

The team he inherited took six points from their last six. The new manager took one point from his last twenty four, albeit he was managing a team of Norwegian Boy Scouts eighteen months ago. Great credentials for the Ewood job. Hard work is no guarantee of success. Let's face it.................t

I agree, anyone who thinks this will be a quick turn round is in for a disappointment.

I am not calling for an immediate turnaround..........
........just a continuation of the one or three points that we had from our previous away games.
