9:40pm Tuesday 29th November 2011 in Blackburn Rovers match reports
OUT Cardiff City's Anthony Gerrard (third right) scores his sides second goal
BLACKBURN Rovers have crashed out of the Carling Cup after losing to Championship side Cardiff City - a result that puts even more pressure on under-fire boss Steve Kean.
Kenny Miller sent the Welsh club on their way in tonight's quarter-final clash with an 19th minute opener, and Anthony Gerrard doubled Cardiff's lead three minutes into the second-half.
Rovers were on the back foot when Miller opened the scoring for the Welsh side, the striker collecting a pass from Aron Gunnarsson before firing through Mark Bunn's legs.
Miller went close to doubling Cardiff's lead but was thwarted by Scott Dann's goal-line clearance.
David Dunn almost equalised for Rovers with a spectacular 30-yard volley, but Cardiff keeper Tom Heaton kept out the midfielder's strike.
Gerrard doubled Cardiff's advantage just after the interval, heading into an empty net after Bunn failed to collect a corner.
Kean threw on Jason Roberts and Yakubu to add extra firepower, but Rovers could not find a way back into the match.

If we loose this & swansea game Kean either leaves or gets assasinated.
For me it was obvious that it would turn to crap after our pitiful performance against a one-man Blackpool side at home.
When we didn't get rid of him in the summer I had already started preparing for Championship football in 2012/13.

Came up with an idea for a protest chant earlier on, was trying to think of something anyone could sing, and was clean enough to be broadcast live or on highlights or printed in match reports:
(To the tune of winter wonderland).
Venky's Why(yyy) Arent You Listening
He's The wor(rrrr)st in our History
We'll be down before long
Singing this song
Trapped in a Steve Kean Nightmare.
OUT!
OUT!
OUT!
and so on..
From every home Section combined with a visual protest (maybe waving the black and yellow scarves, or any of the other ones people have been talking about)
It'd hopefully get some media attention and reinforce the message to Venky's that we want him out.
What do you all think?

If Kean does not have the integrity to walk away now frrom Ewood Park - judge me on my team was his comment - we have - its poor its lacking in confidence and it needs a new Manager TONIGHT if we are to stand any chance of retrieving a dire scenario.
If Vebkys do nothing now we know they have not bought Rovers for the football - they will be despised as much if not more than the Manager

The last twelve months will be heralded across the football world as one of the greatest examples of organisational mismanagement in the history of professional sport.
I think the Venky's have too much pride to get rid of him. There is either something seriously amiss, and the motives are financial, or they are utterly deluded.
Either way, I think we'll be relegated before he goes. The club is fooked.

At other clubs, they sign players and play them. Not with Kean. For some explicable reason any signing has to be given 6months before featuring. And Vuck is not a young lad, he's a seasoned international who held his own against England last month.
Tonights score, utterly predictable I'm afraid. We're incapable of defending under Kean, even if we play teams that have had goal scoring problems, they score 2-3 against us easy. The guy is a kit-man masquarading as a Premier League manager. I would be ASHAMED to have taken a cool payrise to £1.5m if I were him.
Have some feckin' dignity Steve. You've already hit the lottery and got a lot of money out of our club, if you have any semblance of love for our club then leave and give us the best possible chance of staying up.

It was really poor from Blackburn. One or two players were not interested and perhaps were not giving the manager what he needed when he's under pressure. These knobheads can't even get the shirt printed the right way round. I've worked with Indians for over five years, they're tight as fk and NEVER admit to being wrong. They rather see something turn to sh8 than admit a mistake. Or put a different body in to make the same mistakes all over again. I'm not going to condone that by witnessing it.

If he has not gone by Monday next week we may as well all give up because he is not going to leave at all.
He will be like Brian Kidd, who spent £23m to get us relegated and kept his job till we were almost bottom of the Championship the following season.
As fans it is more important to make a protest that will be heard in India on Saturday than supporting the team. I know that is a terrible thing to say but will be best for everyone in the long term, even the players. Trying to help this man win a game would be the worst thing for the club and the supporters.

what high-class manager would want to work with this team i don't even think hughes or benitez could rescue us from this mess, relegation is certain when samba and rochina get poached in january .
really can think of a worst strike force than Roberts and goodwillie for this club to move forward we need to sell most of the squad and spend £100m in january and raise the wage bill, of course this will never happen when even season ticket holders are refusing to turn up.
waste of time boycotting or shouting venkeys and kean out, banners, planes etc the club is going to be playing in league 1 next year grow up and get used to it blackburn rovers has gone past the threshold of being saved.
we need to go on a serious constant points accumulating run something we have not managed since hughes was in charge says it all really.
club over,
I have stopped caring about this joke which is blackburn rovers it's so sad i don't want to be any part of it anymore

Seriously though. This is our club. We need to fight for it, not just walk away.
These knobheads can't even get the shirt printed the right way round. I've worked with Indians for over five years, they're tight as fk and NEVER admit to being wrong. Burnley fans must absolutely love these criminals it really is something to turn a top 10 side into the worst team in the league inside 1 year!
I think we all need to write to the Prime Minister with our concerns and demand a full investigation into the club.
The ONLY note of optimism - football's finances are built on a "house of cards" - if Rovers are the club to eventually bring that house crashing down, and give football fans nationwide their game back, then at least a little bit of good will have come from the farce.

Relegated this season and most likely in administration next season when the Venkys put the club into administration.

The Premier League needs to be forced to put a thorough investigation into the what is going on. Our team on the pitch has already been turned into a poor championship side, and when we go down next season it will only be another relegation battle.
There is alot more pain to come for us I am afraid. Kean is just a puppet, if you change the puppet it does not change the puppet masters plan.

Appoint a quality manager with the right CV and support him in Jan t/fer window and you can survive - but every minute you now delay you push us closer to relegation.

zappedagain wrote:I would agree with you there about a serious bid from anyone
Kean is a symptom of Venkys ineptitude or complicit asset stripping. Our only hope is for Quatar Petroleum to make a serious bid. Shame on any Rovers fans who have criticised the protesters- they saw the iceberg before anyone. I fear it's already too late....
There are some shorted sighted people on here who have stuck with a lost cause and took aim at others with different views
Wish I could be there to protest in person, make some noise for me
.
Since then they have seen revenues drop, we look like we're heading out of the EPL and Venkys have made some money out of player transfers so £25m seems more than fair - if you think they'll come back with a £35-40m offer then think again, these arabs are famous for buying at a "fair" price or will walk away (and who can blame them).

We have to make the media take notice, and show we are passionate about our club. Lets stick together from now on, and show these criminals the door!
people keep going on about protesting for god sake when will u wake up it wont bother them one bit weve bee protesting and all that we got was an improved contract they dont care.if you want to do your bit boycott the game saturday ticket holders too they can NOT ignore an empty stadium or half empty we have a duty as a fan now to show our strength and our strength is bums on seats and paying wages the strongest card we can play is stay away on saturday they can not ignore that

The problem may lie with someone other than the Venkys. I am surprised that more fans have not raised what role has Jerome Anderson got and waht is he actually doing at Ewood anyway; a rather dark figure lurking in the background. An agent who sees this as purely a money making exercise; or is it he who is actually pulling the strings. After all football is a business and no longer the sport it was in the heyday of this fine club. The Venkys see the Rovers as a brand and this has a little or no connection with the ideals of the Blackburn Rovers of the past. The performance yesterday was appalling I am afraid and the players look disinterested, unfit both mentally and run down. I remember when Mark Hughes first took over and the team walked off at Stamford Bridge arguing amongst themselves and totally demoralised; Mark Hughes fixed it and the team improved and the club prospered.
!! Football was certainly a sport in 1960 though!!

I want my club back but the debt is shocking!!
I guess it's easier to just report Kean's inane quotes and wait for 200+ comments to be posted than get off their ar5e and do any real journalism.

is it agreed the majority of fans want Mark Hughes back??
So instead of the `kean out` banners etc..
Why dont we make
WE WANT MARK HUGHES BANNERS
or just simply `MARK HUGHES`
they couldnt remove those banners as it isnt a protest its just simply respecting a former manager!! ( also putting our voices out there to him we want him back)
