FULL TIME: Stoke City 3 Blackburn Rovers 1
2:40pm Saturday 26th November 2011 in Blackburn Rovers match reports
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
CLEAR UP Rovers scorer Ruben Rochina picks up the bin liners which floated across the Britannia Stadium pitch
Blackburn Rovers looked every inch the Premier League strugglers they are as they crashed to a 3-1 defeat at out of form Stoke City.
A clueless Rovers performance never threatened to trouble Stoke at any stage as their relegation woes deepened. By the time Ruben Rochina struck in the 86th minute, Rovers were already dead and buried after barely putting up a fight against Stoke.
The hosts started quickly as expected and almost took the lead in the opening minutes when Peter Crouch headed wide with goalkeeper Paul Robinson in no man's land.
That was about it though for the next 25 minutes as neither side were able to take control of the game.
The ball spent most of the time in the air with both sides looking as bad as each other and neither goalkeeper being tested.
That changed on 28 minutes though when Stoke took the lead after some abysmal Blackburn Rovers defending.
After Steven Nzonzi had fouled Peter Crouch 30 yards out from goal, Jermaine Pennant's delivery was simply headed in at the near post by Rory Delap, after he lost the stationary Gael Givet.
Scott Dann did have a looping header cleared off the line towards the end of the half and Rochina shot straight at Sorensen but, in truth, there were nothing encouraging for Rovers fans to take from the first 45 minutes of action.
Rovers should have been level on 47 minutes after a moment of individual brilliance from Ruben Rochina.
The Spaniard twisted his way past three Stoke defender and deep into the hosts' box but, after he back heeled the ball across the face of goal, Mauro Formica somehow missed the ball from just yards out.
Stoke should have doubled their lead on 54 as Robert Huth headed wide from yards out after Matthew Etherington's deep cross had picked him out unmarked.
The hosts did make it 2-0 on 58 minutes though as Rovers' stationary midfielders allowed the runners to run off them.
Etherington raced down the left wing, cut the ball back for Jon Walter and his lay off was rifled into the net by Glenn Whelan, via a Scott Dann deflection.
It got worse for a clueless Rovers as Peter Crouch raced on to a speculative clearance from Thomas Sorensen, after Grant Hanley had missed his header, and slotted the ball past Robinson on 72 minutes.
Rochina grabbed a consolation on 86 minutes with a fierce 20-yard strike but it was all far too late.

As usual Givet goes to sleep, and loses his marker. 1-0 Stoke.
-
Defensively we are not good enough to stay in this league. Kean does not have the ability to improve the situation.
-
Our forward moves were better. Except for of course the mediocre Pedersen who as usual loses the ball too much and has no urgency in terms of workrate, and treats the ball always like a hot potato.
-
My final prediction for the second half
Stoke 3-0 Blackburn.
-
Kean OUT.

Venkys - if he won't walk you must take off the "L" plates and get rid of the most useless BRFC manager in our history. 3 wins in 27, 1 win in 13 - there can be no excuses for you if you do not act now this club will descend into CIVIL WAR.
On The Pitch - What sort of idiot would start with Formica and Rochina away at Stoke? Kean is not an idiot abroad as broadcast on you tube but an idiot at home! Formica looks completely out of his depth for this situation and Rochina is fits and starts and forgets the art of defending which is crucial in the Prem. Hoillet looks disinterested because of the fools around him or the contract so we had only the Yak up front who was superb. Nzonzie at least gave Stoke a few bloody noses and was lucky to stay on and the defence was woefull.
.
Where do we go from here? Kean out - a quality manager in to give everyone a boost. If the Venkys cannot deliver this then they should sell ASAP or return the club to the Walker family in the short term for at least some professional management.

Oh and another week, another record broken! Kean is getting in all the record books: "Infostrada Sports: Blackburn have conceded in their last 16 Premier League matches. Their longest run without a top flight clean sheet since 1935". Add to that he's officially the worst PL manager EVER.
Why not give him another pay rise Venkys, £1.5m is not enough for this "brilliant manager". I hope Mrs D gets sent down and they lock away the key. Bunch of scum the lot of them.

I predict that Kean will be gone before January, but it won't be due to fan protests. The owners simply can't give into protestors otherwise a precedent is set whereby the next time the fans don't like something, they think let's just start some protests and get rid. Thats just not goin to happen.
I want Kean out as much as the next man, but I strongly believe the survival of Rovers in the Premier League takes priority over in game protests.

But we now need the protests to be constructive, well planned and effective so that they are all supported by the majority of Rovers fans. Up to now some protests have actually alieanated many fans. We need to get them all on board.

alfa111 - see above for the difference between us. The way I would protest is completely different than what has taken place to date. As I said all along the jury was always out on Kean and now I think it is ready to give its verdict on mass? There are no excuses left.
.
Kean out and white hankies waved from all 4 sides of Ewood would get the best message accross and visual TV response? Keep it simple don't over complicate the protests or get to aggressive?

Well the gangster story is loopy enough to be true - it's clear that Kean is not being kept on for his skills or performance as a manager. Premier League footie as a way of laundering money is well known as a man from the fraud squad told me years ago. There are so many practicably untraceable movements of cash. I see LET has lifted the Venkys dodgy speculative venture straight from the Indian press. There's certainly something very shady going on at Ewood and perhaps that's why they got rid of Honest John W and haven't appointed any of the usual scrutiny staff needed to run a proper outfit. There's is a plan - a plot - OFF the field. Alas, on the field, no plan. Yak did his best - after Yak there's no presence in the team until you get to Robbo. You cannot play a midfield of Junior, MGP, One Gear NDozy, Formica and Rochina against ANY Premiership team , let alone the toughest and most robust, Stoke City. It could be that Kean is just giving Formica and Rochina Premiership experience to sell them on, the incubator plan. Givet cannot hack it at LB and Dann is utterly lost and without authority. The Crouch goal was like the Sunday league game in the park. Terrible, terrible, terrible. It's a long nighmare with no end in sight until the Venkys and Kean are cleared out, or found out. Roll on the Indian Court case and Ms D doing time.

Nevertheless, they must surely have been in discussions about buying a premier league club, otherwise, how could the story break across the national media.
We would make ideal candidates for a buyout, i.e. cheap to buy, infrastructure in place, and owners who are very unpopular and who stand to lose millions if we go down.
Surely the venkys must see that they are way out of their depth, I mean they can’t do anything right. Any sensible business person would realise that owning rovers is bad for the venkys brand.
As fans, all we can do is keep pecking away at them, without being racist, until they get weary with owning a football club. And before some people (usual suspects) come on here, and say be careful what you wish for, because we may end up with corrupt owners, just take a look at the news section of the LET with mrs desai facing a possible 5 years in prison.

This coach is not in the Premier League, but I do not know where Blackburn Rovers will progress. In turn my little club owners have raised his salary? now double and therefore fell two goals, and if he had made 10 million a week with just 10 goals per game to fall. Will become the most effective team in the Premier League.
I now turn to the team's fans? Why did you go to watch this soulless and without strategy game from the players? And you were gone you would know the outcome, and thus you are at a loss. Is walking as soon as your brains!

STEVE KEAN OUT
This coach is not in the Premier League, but I do not know where Blackburn Rovers will progress.
I want to ask my coach to fill the following matches how you finish if he remains in office:

the only thing we can do now is hope the increasing negativity and poor results convince venkys that it might be a good time to sell up. Im not sure about the level of interest this Qatar group have specifically in rovers.

Great defensive work Steve, the work you started weeks ago regarding keeping clean sheets is the best I have seen. 3 goals a game !
And Stoke were poor, we have made another very ordinary side look ok.
It is so easy for opposing team, I have never seen such a weak Rovers side. Yes snippets of skill from Hoillett and Rochina but overall as a team, the poorest I have seen, worse than Brian Kidd's side. And we know what happened there.
And SK just carries on and on

Given there can't be a Rovers fan left with any faith in Kean after losing to two teams who had lost their last "12" games so we can now take the gloves off and not worry about it being at the start of the game - he has to go before we can mobe forward as a football club. So come what may its war!!

A Kean Out chant from all 4 sides of the ground from early on and the waving of white hankies - it always looks such a brilliant insult in Italy - you are not even worth my SNOT it says!

Don't over complicate protests by requesting fans spend money on shirts / scarves etc or have to walk from a pub instead of enjoying their pre match pint etc. Just keep the focus in the ground now the momentum will swing to the majority of fans if you don't alienate them with daft stunts?
.
At least that's my view of the way to protest Stone Island. Of course keep up the pressure via the LET and Radio Lancs who both seem to be fully on the fans side at this point. Not the Daily garbage though - there are limits!

Really disappointing today. Before the Wigan game there was a run of decent performances but today was a poor one and it doesn't look good now.

Its good that we're all blaming VENKY'S ANS STEVE KEAN. But the real culprits of this shambles is the Walker family for selling us to a bunch of ****@rs. They just wanted out and didn't give a toss about what happened to rovers. They got the money and did a runner. We need another UNCLE JACK to save us from doom. R.I.P UNCLE JACK WE MISS YOU.
We even had one balloon on here, describing the takeover as 'liberation day'.
It would appear that the Walker Trust, AND the FA, have fallen victim to confidence tricksters.

Kean just looks like he is not bothered any more you could see he has no idea`s about playing again the formation was the yak up front on his own .Junior did not interested ,Rochina was awful but did take his goal well .There was probably only givet who tried feel for Robbo as Dan is crap .Then he puts donkey Roberts on where all these other players Goodwille ,Simon, Bruno Kean has bought all the wrong players there was no commitment the players were looking at Kean is if to say what do you want us to do .Can`t wait to hear his match review i can guarantee we will be playing championship football next year .Fans are staying away must of only been 600 rovers there and at least at the end kean had to walk over to the Rovers fans to get to the tunnel he could not acknowledge us and was struggling to look anywhere .Shame on the stewards who took the banner off the fans for kean out even the stoke fans were laughin at kean .Stoke were not even a good team and like qpr other week we should of been going there and winning with there form at mo.
Fans are going to stop paying hard earned cash to see him managing us to constant defeat i just don`t know what else us fans can do to get rid of him .

Ok some are late to realise what the rest of us saw months ago, but there is very little point discussing it or arguing about it. Now is the time for action, and any supporter who just sits there and don't get involved does not deserve a premier league team to support. a) Venkys travel half way round the world last Sat, get 'spooked' by protesting supporters, watch a poor first half, feel compelled to leave at half time & return to London
b) SK finds out after drawing a must win game that the owners 'show of support' didnt last the full match
Think who should be most annoyed & who should feel most vulnerable.
So what happens?
a)PR at BRFC gets locked down,
b) Sunday's London meeting between V & K reportedly got cancelled, &
c) By Wed SK's got a pay rise & a public show of support in a new contract
Funny old game!

Well thank the Lord for a complete pasting from a team that had lost their last "4" Prem games. Following on from a complete pasting from a team who had lost their last "8" Prem games. Now there cannot be any excuses left - KEAN - if you have even your famous "1%" of decency left in you then do the decent thing and take your payoff and go. Give this club at least a chance to survive.

That day is here. Now! The trouble is that when they come to their senses it will almost certainly be too late. How can you run a business with a line manager reporting directly to faraway owners who don’t have a clue what’s happening and what damage they are wreaking. No wonder he can talk a good game!

well thats that there is no way back now too much damage has been done there is a gap already between us and safety and i dont think we have enough wins in us to get out of it.i am convinced now that the venkys are not in this for football.they simply bought into our club cause it was the cheapest option to own a premiership club to raise there profile and put there company on the map over here and kean has kept his job cus he is a yes man and does as hes told our club is ruined and the f.a should investigate these conmen in charge they have taken loans out against the club and are happy to see us go down to gain parachute payments and sell our assetts for me if anybody wants to do something the we have to boycott our next home game. i dont care how much grief i get for saying this but every supporter that turns up at the next game is responsible for keeping kean in his job.if you really want to help our club and get him out we have to show them we mean business do your bit and boycott.people will say this wont help but if it gets him out it will help in the long run

The team has bags of young talent but is simply not good enough or strong enough in key areas. Kean is leading a sinking ship. Always thought Stoke would be tough and Wigan tight. 4 games to get 8 points at least or its goonight Premier league and goodbye Kean!

Nobody is leading anything, all that is being asked for is "unity" between supporters against one common ugly cause which in this case is Venkys and Kean.
Have you not seen enough yet to see that the clubs heart is being ripped out and destroyed?

We should snatch the 8mil bid for Nzonzi (thats where we desperately need a battler imo).
Hanley will never cut it in the prem, hes got St Mirren CB written all over him.
Hoilett is marked out of the game and Kean has no idea about moving him around.
Goodwillie, Vucevic, Anderson, Ribiero, Petrovic - All looking to be a waste of cash.
I'm afraid were relegated, today confirmed it for me. Anything but 3 points vs Swansea will be closure.

Im a Burnley fan - Love the banter but what's happening at Rovers is ridiculous - A fellow East Lancs club - This cannot be allowed to happen!!! - The premier league/fa etc must get involved in this stinky money laundering/asset stripping. No point protesting against Kean as he is a stakeholder in all this - he is unsackable. The club is being asset stripped and is now mortgaged up to the hilt - the people who put thier dirty money have now laundered it and have all been paid back with interest - Its now all about how long they can get away with it and how much they can extract from the club without proper investigation. I really don't think some understand the magnitude of what's happening and the reasons for it!!! The reason venkys say very little is because they were just the frontage behind the lurky truth - they dont care!!! They get free publicity, all there money back and a profit to boot!!! They knew nothing about football, still don't and to prove it left midway through the most vital game of the season for you. - Any doubters wake up and smell the coffee - your being blagged and delayed whilst your club is being systamatically dismantled you cannot wait and see -IT'S A FACT!!! - a sorry situation for a proud east lancashire club steeped in history. Kean signing the new contract, in fact being offered one at all shows you how wrapped up in this he actually is - he is one of the architects of it - Protest all you like, Kean will not be sacked as it would be the equivalant of sacking himself - Kean got himself the job. WHAT CAN BE DONE? If it was my club for a start don't under any circumstances attend the game for starters - This needs to have its profile lifted so it cannot be ignored - No fans attending it will be all over the press and the press will want to find out why (They will do the digging for you). Have a visit to Accy for a week or 2!! A group of you need to get together to get proper investigators on this (redundant news of the world reporters must be avaliable) The truth needs to come out very soon or the threat of relegation will be the least of your worries -YOUR CLUB WILL GO BUST - ANOTHER FACT!!! Missing 3 or 4 games even if you have been all your life will be the best thing for your club. All this talk of support the club and players - rubbish!!! - act now or your club will not be there - YOU MUST MAKE THE COUNTRY NOTICE - EMPTY SEATS I.E. 1K MAX CROWD - AS I SAID THE REPORTERS WILL BE ON IT AND THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT AND THESE CROOKS BANISHED!!

The idea fans should but shirts and scarves will dilute any protest immediately because many won't invest. So why give Kean an excuse to claim not many were seen? And what is happening to any proceeds from these products? Sounds another Baldrick plan from the protestors to me.

This constant trying to link some fans dislike of our previous manager to the mess the club finds itself in now, is at best misguided/wrong…
..and at worst it’s a form of siding with Kean/Venkeys because of your constant attempt at dividing fans on here….when, now is the time for all Rovers fans to stick together for one cause.

Oh Bazzer.. Venkeys don’t listen to the fans, obviously you don’t realise this, instead thinking that a manager was sacked because of some fans dislike of his style….more sinister things at play here -wake up mate and stop trying to blame me and few others for the mess the club is in…..that’s a good fellow:-D

Believe it or not this is not as bad as 7-1 at Shrewsbury in the old div 3. . Lets also be honest - the protest plans you have come up with to date would have embarrassed even Baldrick they have been so ineffective and been ridiculed! . Now because the right minded fans are thinking Kean has had more than a fair chance and are responding appropriately you lot are trying to claim the kudas - horlicks. . 33rd..........Morst The 88th Min Heartbreaker of Dingles! wrote:You pity Stoke long term!!??? Happy days, eh?Stone Island - you have made good posts in the past so please take the opportunity now to try and get the majority of fans onside for a sensible protest? . Kean is now exposed as totally useless having failed against teams who lost their last 12 games but there are many managers who could play better football. If there was bit of light today watching Stoke it was a reminder of how bad football was to watch under BS and we must move forward from that with a new manager? If a Stoke fan went home happy watching that then I pity them long term. . Lets really get our BRFC back and that means battling but playing the right way also? . 33rd.......

When has my opinion changed from -
1) I would not have given Kean the job.
2) I would have sacked him in the summer.
3) Having been allowed to sign 11 players by the end of August there was no point in protests until at least the end of November as they would only damage the club.
.
Come on Bazzer - give us another of your Baldrick ideas for a protest (the rest would have been as funny as ineffective but for the damage and ridicule it did to your club)- oh I see its buy T-shirts and scarves - well only a minority of fans will fork out so Kean will say - look only 1% are wearing them.

Now try my plan Baz old son -all 4 sides of Ewood singing Kean out for free. How could anyone misinterpret that?

If that is how you see it surely you should have screamed blue murder yourself instead of toeing the party line?
