done it Grant Hanley grabs Yakubu after the Nigerian’s late equaliser
YAKUBU'S 96th minute penalty has earned Blackburn Rovers a crucial Premier League point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at the DW Stadium.
The Nigerian slotted home his second of the game from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Paul Robinson had been kicked in the head by Dave Jones.
David Dunn was dismissed on 48 minutes, with his side trailing 2-1 and looking beaten, until Hoilett's highly controversial 60th minute equaliser.
Morten Gamst Pedersen took a left wing corner to himself and then crossed for Hoilett to head home from close range. Incredibly the goal stood.
But, despite a battling second half display, Crusat's weak poke squirmed under Robinson to pile the pressure on boss Steve Kean.
Until at the death, Robinson threw himself at Pedersen's corner and earned Rovers a lifeline.
Watched by co owners Venkatesh and Balaji Rao, a large away following got behind their side throughout but also voiced their disgust at Kean and owners Venky's.
The borthers are understood to have left at half time.
Rovers enjoyed the perfect start on just two minutes when, after a couple of flicks from David Dunn and Steven Nzonzi, Gary Caldwell's error allowed Yakubu to race clear on goal.
The Nigerian reached the ball just before the onrushing Ali Al Habsi and lofted it over his grasp to send the large travelling army wild.
Wigan should have got a penalty on six minutes after Victor Moses was tripped by Morten Gamst Pedersen in the penalty area but the hosts didn't have long to wait for their equaliser.
Grant Hanley headed Ronnie Stam's right wing cross partially clear on eight minutes but, picking up the loose ball in space on the edge of the area, Jordi Gomez fired a low shot past Paul Robinson at his inside post.
Pedersen was inches away from giving Rovers the lead again on 20, when his 30-yard free kick cannoned off the inside of the post, across the goal to safety.
In a pulsating end-to-end encounter it was Wigan looking the biggest threat with Rovers continually looking open to their counter attack.
Victor Moses and Mohamed Diame were a constant threat with the visitors struggling to gain any control of the game.
Roberto Martinez's men were rewarded for their efforts just past the half hour mark, thanks in no small part to some slack Rovers defending.
Gary Caldwell lost Scott Dann to latch on to Dave Jones' left wing corner and head the ball into the corner of the net.
Rovers were given a mountain to climb just three minutes after the restart when David Dunn was sent off for his second caution, with Michel Salgado having been replaced by league debutant Adam Henley at half time.
With the away fans in full voice against their manager and owners, Rovers gained an unlikely route back into the game on the hour mark.
Morten Gamst Pedersen incredibly took a left wing corner to himself and his subsequent low cross was deflected to Hoilett who headed home at the far post.
There were no protests from the home team at the time but replays clearly showed Pedersen kicked the corner to himself.
Rovers should have been ahead on 73 minutes when Yakubu raced clear on goal but, after rounding Al Habsi, he saw the ball cleared off his toes.
Paul Robinson then brilliantly denied Hugo Rodallega from close range but Crusat's late strike looked enough to break Rovers hearts.
Until Yakubu kept his colol in the dying seconds

Wigan is a really , REALLY bad team, and thankfully their players made horrible decisions that let rovers get one point today.
Lucky with the hoilett goal, then wigan gives away a corner they shouldnt have and pulls off a chuck norris on robinsons head.
Well, ill give you one thing steve kean, you deliver absolutely outrageous games. No more complaints about being last on MOTD these days.
Unfortunately, that also means relegation. No way rovers are staying up with kean as manager. NEVER.

SWINGOMETOR UPDATE -
007 - 10%
Wily Coyote - 90%

The truth is a change of manager has now to be made. This was a must win game against the bottom of the league who had lost their last 8 games and despite the gift horse of an 1st minute goal we could have been 4 or 5 down by half time. Yes we battled and got lucky “for once” with 10 men in the 6th minute of injury time but Kean’s record is now 6 wins in 34 games and only one win this season – WILY COYOTE often looks good but he always finds a way to fail – that I am afraid is Kean in a nutshell!
.
Venky’s - Martin O’Neil, Mark Hughes or Rafael Benitez would all bring almost a guarantee against relegation even in this situation as long as you provide some funds and don’t interfere with the manager managing. But Kean must now go.

No doubt Kean's cronies and cranks will be spitting their usual disdain at those not happy with this result. Then again, why shouldn't they, they're as bad as he is.

both teams were shambolic.
Dunn wouldn't get a job as a pub team's ball boy.
Nzonzi , pedersen , hoilett all carrying injuries.
apart from the cardiff match , I will watch all away matches on the TV in the pub.

And the cheek of Morst to take his own corner was the most outrageous piece of football I have ever seen. But it is about time our luck changed. We fought to the bitter end as exemplified by Paul Robinson, so inspite of the managers uselessness at least the players showed they cared.

Such performances do them there in your country in East India. I like such a big fan of football club Blackburn Rovers as unwilling to attend these shows and if any of his fans would like to attend let these circus performances, but in the UK - the Premier League has not become a mockery of the whole world. So I appeal to fans of this great football club? IF YOU WANT TO WATCH CIRCUS OF WALKING Matches Blackburn Rovers, IF YOU WANT TO FOOTBALL IS NOT LEAVE CIRCUS Do not go to matches, for they played? OWNERS AND THEIR TRUSTED monkey / Steve Kean /.
I turn at Mr. Steve Kean? If you have or if thou Honor Gentleman is now time to change jobs!

So worried when I thought Roberts was going to take the pen, fortunately Yak was as cool as can be. He really should have had a hat-trick today.
Positive side: I thought Henley looked very solid and confident - another prospect. Pedersen involved in the game (my man of match) and unlucky to see his 35 yard free-kick hit the post. Team spirit.
Negative side: not good without possession first half - not closing down enough. Dann lost his man for their second. Dunny off the pace. Robbo poor for 2nd goal. Tactics needed changing sooner.

Obviously Kean is unable to organise a defence. Can you remember back to BFSams first game in charge when the defence changed within days of him taking over and we won against Stoke. Kean will never, ever, make a good manager. He is too deluded and lacking in technical ability. What is the point of bringing on Roberts, for goodness sake, when we have the present scottish striker on the bench.
Take us out of our misery. Someone take him of to the funny farm. We are almost at the point where it will take a wondeful run of form to just catch up with mid table. This deluded nut thinks everything is fine so there is no chance of him altering things. He was talking about a top 10 finish before this game.
100% for the players
0% for Kean

- Golden boy Kean yesterday.
On todays evidence "every chance", or "certainly". As he's so intent on explaining everything with positiveness, how about "on this display we can be positive Rovers will be in the Championship next season".
It isn't even about today. It's about the fact that Keans record (stretching back a year now, hardly knee-jerk) is absolutely diabolical. And incredibly is getting WORSE. Already the official worst manager in Premier League history, it's looking like kit-man Kean is setting a record that will take some beating. Let's face it, most owners would never let it go on this long.
Venkys were there today (at least for the first half). They saw the complete shambles, they heard the MAJORITY of fans calling Kean out and Venkys out. If they truly do "care for the fans" and that Rovers "is their baby", then Kean has to go.
If he doesn't go, then they surely must want us to be relegated. Nothing else makes sense at this point.

As you say we got the luck today
Effort from the players cannot be faulted, but we should not be in this position after taking the lead.
Poor, poor goals conceded & lucky, lucky goals taken.
Kean was defiant at the end coming onto the pitch & raising his arms aloft in defiance.
Horrid times my friend.

We were TERRIBLE in that 1st half and against a decent side we would have been panned today.
.
We conceeded 3 goals again today and the defending by the whole team was beyond WOEFULL !!
.
If you know the slightest thing about football you would realise that we have no chance of staying up until we start defending PROPERLY.
.
Kean has been in charge for 9 months - we have not kept a single clean sheet for 7 months now - if you can't sort your team to defend after 9 months incharge then you are NEVER going to sort them out.

I went to the game today with 3 friends who have been Kean supporters and even they say its now time for a change - wake up man !!

I have more pace than salgado and bringing in dunn, well what happened to him is self explanatory. He just cannot get there in time, challenges are late and he puts pressure on his own teamates by giving away stupid free kicks.
I gave Pilkington a chance but Wigan are dogsh1t so he needs to go so we still have time to get someone in.
What about lee clarke, he's just broken the undefeated games record kept by Nottingham Forrest in the days of Brian Clough, or even Nigel clough. One thing is for certain. If I took over the managers job I would have a better win ratio than this soggy biscuit.

Yes SK will spill the usual about spirit, and anything else he can make up.
But the situation is getting critical now.
In my opinion 2 teams that look nailed on for relegation.
We just cant defend as a team
The team selection was poor again (salgado and dunn do not warrant a place on this seasons form)
SK and his bench could not even prepare the subs in time for their intended substitutions,
But the biggest culprits in all of this are Venkys !
I am not having it that they are naive.
Nobody in business puts up with results like SK is dishing up.
The club is in free fall and the owners are fully culpable.

On a positive note, young Adam Henley made a quite promising debut imo. Got tested quite a bit by Wigan on that side, but seemed to handle himself well and wasn't fazed considering he was an emergency replacement.
Pedersen also looking like he did under Big Sam, ie, solid and dependable. Very unlucky with his free-kick. Yak also looking a decent aquisition.
Yep. As Rovers fans these days we have to savour the few small positives we get in defeat each week.

Don't forget, during their eight game losing streak, they managed to score four goals. So we can take the positives out of keeping them down to just three.
Did we lose then?
Over the last few weeks, we've had some very tricky away games. We've had to go to places like Fulham, QPR, Norwich, and Wigan. We've managed to get four points from those fixtures. So we can take the positives from that.
Don't forget, we've still got to go to the likes of: Liverpool, United, City, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. Those are the places were our wins will come from, to push us up the league.
There is absolutely NO CHANCE of us getting relegated. Not many teams will go to Wigan, and come away with a point, you know. In fact, only Norwich have managed it so far this season. We can take some positives from that.
I can see this result kick starting our season. I'm sure that come March/April, we'll be smashing the TWENTY point barrier, and believe me, not many teams will be on twenty points come then. We can really push on from here. We have a really tough game away at Stoke next week. I'd gladly take a point now. That would be another tricky fixture out of the way.
Yes, all in all, a great point today. Well done to SK. I'm sure Venky's will reward him with a new contract on the back of that positive performance, away to one of the footballing giants.

Steve Kean – The key 6 games will prove is he .....
.
1) 007 and will get everything right at the death?
.
2) Wily Coyote and everything will blow up in his face again?
.
The next 6 games will decide –
Game 1 - Wigan 3 Rovers 3
SWINGOMETOR UPDATE -
007 - 10%
Wily Coyote - 90%
.
But Kean must now go.
.
33rd Year And Counting!
As you say we got the luck today
Effort from the players cannot be faulted, but we should not be in this position after taking the lead.
Poor, poor goals conceded & lucky, lucky goals taken.
Kean was defiant at the end coming onto the pitch & raising his arms aloft in defiance.
Horrid times my friend.
.
As Bazzer says we need a superman like Martin O'Neil, Sparky or Benitez - I least I think that's what he meant!!
.
For the record yes I do think Martin O'Neil, Sparky or Benitez would consider the role if offered because this squad has the quality if managed correctly and the right amount of support and control by our new owners who must now take off the "L" plates and realise how football works.
.
6 wins in 34 games or more worrying now we have 1 win in 12 having played Wolves, Everton, QPR, Newcastle, Wigan, Fulham and Norwich and failing to beat any of them. And so abject was the failure to take a vunerable and awful Wigan to the cleaners yesterday having been given a goal start it is now clear we can't risk Kean any further.
.
Make the right change now and we "CAN STAY UP" - but we can't wait any longer.
.

I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD FORGET THAT.
I was with the Venky's and Kean up until the Manchester City game, infact i posted long eloquent defences regarding their tenure but that changed after i became alarmed at the amount of goals being conceded and the utter breath taking disdain shown towards the protesters by Kean and his followers.
The final straw with regards the Venky's was the "Kean is a brilliant manger" statement - these people calculate their arrogance and direct it with precision - their very small minority of followers are the same.

I've not gone in for any of the "conspiracy theories" regarding asset stripping - i need to see hard evidence - though i i feel for and share the concerns of those fans that suspect something sinister is taking place behind the scenes.
However, hard evidence is on the pitch and in the league tables - LAST SEASON - as well as this season.
I think in a lot of ways what is happening at BRFC is symptomatic of of football in general - the utter breath taking arrogance of the Venky's, Kean, Jason Roberts and other media pundits towards the protesting fans is truly despicable and shame on those Rovers fans that have taken part in that sordid behavior.

Fast forward to the end of the season. I remember being on here in the summer and there were still only a few of us calling for Keans head. In my view he dragged our club to the verge of relegation, with only Big Sams points keeping us up in the end.
I and the few others who had the foresight to see what was coming were roundly slated for daring to criticise our manager. Amazingly he even had staunch defenders during his drink drive arrest.
Thankfully now everyone is on board. Ultimately, I care more about BRFC then being proved right, so all I want is unity from the fans to get this arrogant little man out of our club. If he doesn't go, then we must do our best to get Venkys out. Unless anyone's prepared to watch us in the Championship next season and slide even further we have no other choice.

Several people say Venky's were right to sack BFS. But if they had no adequate replacement, which they hadn't, and still don't ONE YEAR later, then how could they be right to sack him? It just doesn't make sense.

If I'd known they were just going to give the job to a kit-man downstairs then I would NEVER have supported Big Sam being done in.
If they had some sort of personal issue with Sam then I really don't understand why they didn't seek out a proper replacement first THEN get rid of Sam.
Appointing Steve Kean (lest not forget, he wasn't even number 2 at the club) is and has been proved to be a ludicrous decision. Sticking by him at the end of the season as he virtually singlehandedly almost got us relegated? Also ludicrous.
But to stick with Kean STILL at this point, who can only count his victories on one hand after a whole year in charge? INSANE.
It is either that or there is a corrupt motive at work. No matter which of these reasons, I can no longer support Venkys.
100% for the players
0% for golden boy Kean and Venkys
