FULL-TIME: Blackburn Rovers 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers 2
5:13pm Saturday 13th August 2011 in Blackburn Rovers match reports
ON TARGET Mauro Formica scores his first goal for Rovers
Stephen Ward's winner got Blackburn Rovers off to the worst possible start to the new Premier League season.
Ward lashed home a left-foot shot in the 48th minute after Paul Robinson saved Kevin Doyle's penalty and the ball was only half-cleared into Ward's path.
Stephen Fletcher had swiftly equalised a debut goal by Mauro Formica in the first half of a match that was a repeat of their survival showdown on the final day of last season.
Wolves started with with new signing Roger Johnson as captain while Rovers boss Steve Kean kept his host of new signings, with the exception of Formica, on the bench.
It was Kean's men who started better and they almost grabbed the lead in the fourth minute when Morten Gamst Pedersen found space on the right to deliver a low cross.
Junior Hoilett stretched his left foot at the far post and looked to have prodded his side ahead, only for Wolves keeper Hennessey to gather in a goal-line melee.
With Rovers still stunned by their near miss, Wolves broke up the other end and Matt Jarvis almost teed up Doyle in the box before the linesman flagged for offside.
Johnson was the first player in referee Kevin Friend's book for a foul on Morten Gamst Pedersen but David Dunn's dangerous-looking free-kick came to nothing with Brett Emerton firing the rebound over the bar.
Jason Roberts' persistence paid off after 20 minutes when he squeezed through two defenders and fed Formica who nudged a left-foot shot across Hennessey and into the net from a tight angle.
But Wolves were level just three minutes later when Matt Jarvis dug out an excellent cross from the right and Fletcher rose in the box to head past Robinson.
Buoyed by their unexpected equaliser, Wolves continued to press and might have gone ahead after 28 minutes when Stephen Hunt blazed just over after some neat play in the box.
Rovers regrouped and, led by the bustling Roberts, forced their way back into the game. Formica had a hopeful penalty appeal turned down after falling under a Karl Henry challenge.
It was Wolves who won a penalty within a minute of the restart when Friend deemed Michel Salgado had hauled down Jarvis close to the by-line.
Doyle's penalty was saved by Robinson low to the keeper's left but the ball was only half-cleared and fell to Ward who lashed home a left-foot shot from just inside the box.
Wolves almost went further ahead after 51 minutes when substitute Kevin Foley crossed to Fletcher who had time to chest the ball down in front of goal before a crucial interception by Steven Nzonzi.
Mick McCarthy's men, looking confident and tenacious, continued to pin the home side back in their own half and already the first murmurings of discontent were evident among the Rovers support.
In a rare chance, Roberts and Nzonzi contrived to miss a David Dunn corner in the Wolves six-yard box and Kean responded by throwing on David Goodwillie for the final 20 minutes.
It was another substitute, Ruben Rochina, who came closest to an equaliser for Rovers in the 75th minute when he lashed a long-range effort just wide.
Goodwillie also came close with a shot on the turn in the 83rd minute but Rovers' quest for an equaliser petered out and the boos at the final whistle suggested a hard season ahead.

Take into consideration all the injury etc & we are lightweight to say the least.
Effort was their but, stretched out all over the pitch.
I do not believe Venky have got their heads around just how bloody difficult the Prem League is. They had better pull their fingers out fast or we are in for a dog fight that we haven't experienced for a long, long time.
I won't give up on them as yet but, the clock is ticking & zero hour is getting closer.

Don't believe for a second Samba is injured with a 'groin niggle'. He hasn't featured for three weeks since the Villa game in Hong Kong. Something very suspicious happening there, no doubt he'll be the next out the door.
I don't anticipate a long hard season. Any more of today's rubbish and we'll be relegated by Christmas. Might as well not bother with 2012.
Looks to me like we need at least FOUR new signings, THREE of which have to be proven premier league quality. No more of Kean's lies. If we have, quote, a 'very healthy budget' and the proceeds of the Jones sale then assuming it hasn't gone back to India we should have big money to acquire the necessary players. Sunderland signed 11 for 10 million. Why can't we do that?

Venkys, & their puppet Kean hold 100% responsibility for the fiasco we are in at the moment.
I posted yesterday that we needed 5-6 TOP QUALITY new signings before today if the rubbish about being top-10 was to be a reality.
Wolves could easily have had 2-3 more goals today & at time we were chasing shadows.
Manager out of his depth.
Owners liars.
Believe me the only way Venkys will learn is if there is a concerted campaign against their "good name" at every home game.
Listened to an interview with the Rao brothers on the way to the game- they sounded like something from the Benny Hill show in the 80's. Clueless.
Hanley- not up to it.
Emerton, Dunn- should nor be starting the game, & certainly not in centre midfield.
We badly need a really decent striker, centre-back, & centre midfielder before the next game, but, as I've been saying for months- who the hell will sign for these cheating Indians & their yes-man manager??
All summer they've had to sort this out & what's the upshot- 11 out/3 in; £25 million in, £6.5 out; & a shambles today.
Relegation fodder under this lot- never been as hacked off in a long time, & judging by todays attendance, I'm not alone....

Steve Kean is probably trying his best, just as any of us would if we were manager. The clear problem is that he does not command respect. We,the supporters, have no respect for him and he is generally disliked. When have we ever sang Steve Keans Blue and White Army....no nay never.
The players don't have any respect for him because he doesn't have a clear plan, he tries to be liked too much instead of being hard, and there is no inspiration. Last season, we would have finished 4th on first half results. What does he say to them at half time....the same thing happened today.
The heart has been ripped out of the club and I'm sad to say that even if the Venkys signed four more players as we all want, Kean is most definitely not the man to inspire the team or the supporters. The best signing the Venkys could make is Mark Hughes to bring some confidence and pride back to the club. Interestingly, warren Barton commented that Kean has no support in the media and that the players didn't understand how he wanted them to play.
Venkys, please listen to the supporters and everyone else in football. Replace Kean NOW and give us our pride back. The lives of many are being ruined!
Secure words...tour-wine...
sounds like something Kean should be doing. Surely if he's found guilty of lying about his drink driving he should be fired anyway.

The frailities we feared were there - midfield was weak Hoillet should sign his new contract quick because today he chose the wrong options time and time again. Dunn Emerton Pedersen - outplayed outrun and definitely out fought by a side who will also be in the bottom six. Salgado looked short of pace and his scissors tackle in the penalty area was asking for it.
Hanley looks a long way short of being a Premier player while Olsen was to me the most committed although his best position is left wing not left back.
No excuses for Kean he has needed a centrehalf since Jones got injured last December, he has needed a creative midfielder with pace and he needs an alternative to Jason Roberts asap
As for Venkys - will the cheque book be opened because the longer it goes the less available players around. If Samba goes we are up the creek unless we get two replacements in and Bassong is not the answer if he is tempted to boost numbers

At least one striker who is a genuine threat in the box and at least one centre-back (presuming big Chris stays). Personally I am not sure about another midfield player. I would rather see those funds and wages go into another striker.
.
There is a lot of pressure on Petrovic and Goodwillie to turn the team around now.
.
No team would have coped easily with three CBs out but the paucity of Premier League-quality players was exposed for all to see.
.
Venkys and Steve Kean need to be very busy between now and Sept 1st and I guess the price of any CBs we are interested in just went up a couple of million!
.
As has been commented above it is now time for Venkys to back Steve Kean with the necessary funds. If they can't do that then they have got the wrong man like many fans suggest.

To all of the Kean out merchants, the question is then what? We pay off his contract and then need to persuade a decent candidate, if available, to take over a threadbare squad and little money available. The transfer window wil be almost shut if there is any money to spend. Everybody needs to pull together - but owners and manager, please be positive but realistic - no more Euro next season rubbish.
His time is up. I never wanted him in the first place considering the suspicious nature of how he got the job and his complete lack of playing/managerial experience. Last season was a disaster and we were very lucky to survive. Since then he has allowed decent players such as Kalinic and Diouf to go without finding replacements. He has led supporters to believe we have big money to spend which so far has proved to be a lie. If he has been mislead by Venky's he should do the honourable thing and walk away. Heaping embarrassment on the club by talking of top 10 with this threadbare squad is ridiculous. Expecting a 33 year old Jason Roberts to act in a lone striker capacity and to score the majority of our goals is mind-blowing. This is a guy who has been here five years and has yet to pass the ten goals a season mark. Kean has sat in his office since May and allowed us to get into a position where we are 10 players down on last season's narrow survival squad. It's his fault the squad is in this pathetic state. That's why he should get the sack. If you expect people to sit through another 37 games like today without them calling for the manager's head then you must be happy to watch us get relegated. You also seem to be forgetting that this is now 'Kean's squad'. Last seasons excuses of it being Allardyce's 'hoofball' team and the 'lets give Kean time to adapt to the job' no longer stand up this season. There are no excuses.

Even our squad that finished 2nd in the Championship to gain promotion with Filan, Berg, Curtis, Mahon, Hignett, Dunn, Duff, Flitty, Bent and Janssen was a better team than what we have now.
Realistically, how many of our squad would be an attractive proposition for even what we might call mediocre premiership teams? Robinson, Samba, Junior and Olsson? The rest forget it.
So, its either a very short season and we could be done and dusted by Dec 31st or Venky's get shut of Kean NOW !!...appoint Hughes/Bowen and on Monday and add at least premiership experienced players a Centre Half, Centre Mid, 15+ goal per season striker and we might then have a chance.
I guarantee failure to do this will mean relegation.

I'm afraid we're stuck with him. The Chuckle Brothers have said once again, he's unsackable, he wont quit because it takes an honourable man to do so, and Kean is anything but a man of honour. The weasel is even trying to wriggle off a drink drive charge.
.
It's going to be a long, frustrating season. And the most frustrating thing of all, is that all our troubles are self inflicted. Self inflicted by clueless owners, who have absolutely NO IDEA what they are doing.

Right for me Venkys aren't really worried about Rovers, cos if they keep their name in the press then that seems all they want.
The transfer sagas this summer have been awful and with them not spending any money other than the money fron Kallinic's sale and saving the wages on the 11 players Kean says have left sums up Venkys.
So 11 players out and 3 un-proven youngsters in and now really looking at loans. As for the 4 bids that seem to have been active for all summer well i think that is all hot air and just talk.
Relegation is a real prospect this season as Venkys haven't got the balls to sack Kean and replace him with someone who knows what they are doing, saying that who would want to work for Venkys.

@jeppo Hysteria? Really? We lost at home to Wolves. Our home form is what has kept us a good player in the Premier League for the last decade. The said Premier League is not the place for any manager to be learning, we tried this with Ince. He was far more qualified than Kean and he failed miserably. Kean is a weak man, showed entirely in the Myles Anderson transfer. No proper manager would have signed that fellow. Kwan however, bowed his head like the good little puppet and said yes. Not only does he sign him he then describes him as the "next Chris Smalling". Then when we are three central defenders down, he doesn't deem Anderson good enough to start and puts Steven N'zonzi at centre half. Great confidence boost for the player. An utter joke, if you can take positives out of this then fair play. As a realist though, this is a disaster in the making. I bow my head in utter disappointment, gutted
We are gleaning the good here Jeppo from that display & it simply isn't good enough if we are to have any chance of staving a relegation battle off. Consider the remark from Kean over the page as to the state of play.
This guy is hamstrung both from his own foolishness & Venky's utter lunacy at the way they have/are conducting business toward our club.
I just don't know if the intentions are good any more from Venky ? How can we be left with a skeleton as regards the running of the club etc ? It just isn't right.
We KO'd today & what is in front of us is certainly only to worsen if no players are brought through the door of the class & quality we need.
I want it to come right but, we have no time for that, surely ?
Apportioning blame is not my bag but, the responsibility is theirs & theirs alone.
As it stands we are going to struggle. All things considered it just isn't acceptable. I have backed them all to come good but, they have to move fast.
21954 or around that mark today attendance. Opening day of the season !
The exodus could just very well have started ?
We need answers quickly mate.
Hope the 3 defenders(very apt I feel) are ready for next weeks tussle at Villa park or is this going to be very symbolic ?
It ain't good Jeppo but, my passion or commitment remains for BRFC.

The transfer window wil be almost shut if there is any money to spend. Everybody needs to pull together - but owners and manager, please be positive but realistic - no more Euro next season rubbish. The answer to your question is that there are plenty of managers out there, some with Premiership experience, some with Championship, some abroad, all of whom would give us a better opportunity of surviving in this league than Kean.

Well, all my eagerness & anticipation for the new season came crashing down on my head after that.
A cold hard wake up call for me. Absolute paramount that personnel are brought through the door asap.
A lively opening by both sides but, the writing was on the wall seeing how open the game was.
After we scored the problems began as we became rag tag all over the pitch. A patched up team purely down to the incompetence of our dealings in the summer transfer window, I feel ?
What was heartening was the chances we created & the shoot on sight policy. Of course, 37 games to play & as always things can change pretty quickly but, not unless Venky get the cash out & bolster our wafer thin squad, now !
Do you not detect a 'swipe' at Venky here from SK over the page ?
The 3 missing defenders, I feel are the answer to what is actually happening down at Ewood? Nelson I can accept the reason. Alas I'm not convinced over Givet & Samba!
Sigh :(

Morning Woody, I did sense keans swipe and if the dealer gives you a sh1tty hand to play with then you're in trouble. We need a centre half and quick. If Samba were to go then we would require 2 CB's and the time it takes us to sign someone makes that very unlikely. Salgado although a decent stop gap squad player is getting exposed. All last season the opposition that had done its homework on us knew it was our weak spot. Don't get me wrong he is a steady seasoned pro, but in a league that all teams seem to have pace down the flanks it would be better to use him as cover and use someone with more pace. Pedersen is not a centre mid and never will be and if we have to play Dunn in the middle too he needs someone more mobile with more pace playing next to him. For me he is lacking mobility. We were too soft right down the middle, I never saw one midfielder break up play once. I think I spent most of the second half with my head in my hands.
We need to sign a centre back, Scott Dann would be my choice, seen as how we missed the boat on johnson.

A signing of intent & as you say, on these shores pref a Cahill or Dann.
Whence this window shuts we are where we are with the cold sobering fact of a wafer thin squad with little or no experience as back up !
Salgado was cruelly exposed twice yesterday & certainly culpable for both goals. Although Olsson left a gaping berth for the equaliser down the left !
I feel Kean is being hung out to dry here & he HIS finally realising that Venky could just be blagging ?

Just watched us on MOTD and we looked awful.Did i hear boo's at the end of the game.

Don't you see that SK is just peddling the lies that are being spoon-fed to him by the con-men from Venkys. He is trapped as his agent's puppet. No doubt he believed they would back him in the transfer market, but they haven't so now, as the transfer window draws to a close, he is desperately looking for loan signings. At least the Walker Trust were honest. And as for Mark Hughes or Martin O'Neill didn't they both resign because they couldn't get any significant funds for players? So why would they want to come to a club that has had the heart ripped out of it, a club with no infrastructure? I watch some training sessions at Brockhall. For the life in me I cannot see what John Jensen and his army of coaches are trying to do. If the players look confused they probably are. We've been through some pretty low times at Ewood but this is just about as low as we get. They played like a bunch of strangers thrown together against Wolves. We have had almost a year of Venkys now and on this performance we are just spiralling out of control.

Well now is the time to act, we are a very small club, not attarctive to anyone on the up. The only thing that makes us valuable is the Premier league payouts. We are Venky's promotional fodder, and nothing else at the moment. They are less interested in our football than their business and are doing as much as they can get away with to promote their business through our club, that they now own. When our club goes down, they will get their money back, but our club will be very unattractive to all. As a result we will never see Premier football again.
In terms of alternatives, the list is endless. Names such as Benitez, Curbishley, Hughes would all be worth a try. If not then look at the Championship with people like Poyet, Grayson, Eriksson, all of whom have far greater credentials than our dear Steve Kean.
I won't accept that we are 'stuck with him'. It is our duty as supporters to try everything we can to force a change. I'm just praying Venkys fire him after he is convicted for drink driving tomorrow. However I won't hold my breath. He could be a mass murderer and they'd still stick by him. I wish they'd shown the same relentless loyalty and support for allardyce. We'd be nowhere near the state we are in now with Sam running the show. Remember his policy of not selling players until adequate replacements were lined up? One thing Kean should of learnt from the man he betrayed. Then we wouldn't be 10 players down on last season.
Again, if Kean had been promised money and Venky's have failed to deliver, then he should resign like any reputable man would do. But no, he doesn't care about his reputation or the long term future of this club, he only cares about his career.

Before any idiot says I am a Kean or Venky supporter I am not - The jury is very much out on both at present but a mob mentality I will not join after 1 game.
Anyhow, just a post to present it as it really is, rather than the hysterical nonsense above;
.
There were several positives today, Rochina, Goodwillie showing encouraging signs and it was good to see stalwarts such as Roberts Emerton Dunn contribute well.
Having Samba Nelsen givet missing was a massive blow.
.
The biggest issue today was our basic naivety as a team. By all means, try to entertain, particularly against the mid table teams at home, but we conceded today straight after scoring and straight after they had missed the penalty. On both cases because of a lack of discipline - this should NOT be happening!
.
Kean has learnt another harsh lesson today, and eventually he will make us much more resolute, but it's a bloody painful learning curve.
.
All 4 center halves we finished last season with were missing (Samba, Nelson, Jones Givet) Because Pertrovic was not available we had no holding player because we had to move N'Zonzie to emergency center half.
.
Then the most experienced defender Salgado has an absolute stinker - beaten for the header on the first goal, insane tackle to give a penalty and then sets it up for Ward to smack in the winner! Overall we had more possession, shots, corners etc and there was at times some nice looking interplay with Hoillet, Formica, Dunny and Rochina that bodes well as they get more into a rhythm. Goodwille had a decent first showing as sub and was unlucky not to score.
.
The players we have to comeback from injury plus the new signings not yet started plus money availbale for more means things should improve soon. One concern though was we again lost the 2nd half and did not seem able to put them under late in the game - is this a fitness issue?
.
Kean must turn things round in the first 8 games or we can't risk sticking with him after last seasons average results also. But for these next few games we need to get behind the team and give them confidence.

I was at the game with my girlfriend and even she was laughing at Nzonzi trying to deal with things as a CB. I mean it's just ludicrous. I'm a big fan of Nzonzi, think he's a cracking little CM, bags of energy, but I think everyone at the ground could see immediately the lad just isn't cut out to be center back.
.
When the final whistle went I didn't boo. I was just too sad at what the hell is going on at my club. I've seen it coming for a while, but it doesn't make it any easier when you see it happen.
.
The one silverlining to this is that perhaps now the Steve Kean fan club and Venky luvvies will finally 'smellthecoffee' (what an apt name you have buddy), and realise how foolish they've been the past couple of months. Especially as they've been abusive towards those here who have been (rightly) critical of the manager/owners.
.
And before any luvvies chime in: "oh this is only 1 game, you can't get on the bandwagon and sack a manager after 1 game". Well THIS IS NOT ONE GAME. Keans record is abysmal for ANY leauge.
.
So here are some facts.
KEANS MANAGERIAL STATS:
.
- 9 months in the job
- 5 league wins in 22 games
- won 2 from the last 15
.
The good thing is, this season he won't be able to hide behind Big Sams points, so he'll have no excuses now.
.
The situation is still repairable, but only whilst the window is open. If Venkys DON'T spend, then I want them the hell out of my club as they'll be nothing but liars, frauds and officially incompetent owners in my eyes.
.
But whatever happens with Venkys, we cannot go on with this guy. We need a REAL manager, not a kit guy. Hopefully now some of the fools here realise it.

The time for giving them the benefit of maybe confused press statements and India continent nievety and unfamiliarity with English prem footie is done...we need to see action this week, three or more players in and (hopefully) Kean out.
Venkys wont go away though, but they need to show their mettle now, before the new season runs away from us.

What part of we had no centre backs do you both not understand?
I said I'd give them until the end of the transfer window and guess what, thats exactly what I'm going to do. Yeah i'm p1ssed off we lost. But I can recognise that if we had a full strength side out we would have probably won the game. As slongio and others have pointed out, if you take your first choice centre halves out of any side your in trouble, then take their replacement out too, your in more trouble. Then you take your best, until Raca got here, centre mid out and play him at centre half, your in even more trouble. If a team like Bolton had three cb's missing well its pretty easy to work out isn't it.
As slongio says, there are no Venky luvvies or Steve Kean Luvvies, we're just prepared to give them a chance. We say they will be judged at the end of the tranfer window and thats the way it is.
So we will take your other point too. You've already been proved wrong on more then one occasion here now and people are no longer interested in your 'positive rhetoric' about Kean.
.
Regards your comment: "What part of we had no centre backs do you both not understand":
.
- Well we had Myles Anderson on the bench. The first summer signing by Kean. Why didn't he play? If he can't get ahead of a CM in CB then what does that say?
.
Regards your question: "Say we sacked Steve Kean, what then, who would come in with the window shut and the same owners"
.
I'm not saying Venkys out... yet. Clearly your comprehensive skills are lacking. As I mentioned they can still repair this situation, but the deadline for them is without question the transfer deadline. They've had all summer to keep to their word, and that's when I and many others here will make their final judgement.
.
Regards to 'if we sack Kean who do we get'. Well this happens whenever you sack a manager, you have to have the balls to know when to do it. It's never a good time. Summer would have been a good time, but obviously that boat's passed now.
.
The prudent move would be to seek out and appoint a proven top level manager FIRST, then give Kean his dole cheque. As others have mentioned on this page, there are numerous candidates available.
.
Now if you want a discussion, feel free to do so without the continued personal attacks, else I shall no longer respond to you (and whether you realise it or not, it's quite clear from the way you jump on my every comment on every page you do enjoy my attention).

He has to go, ain't no doubt about it. He seems he is/was a good coach, I remember BFS saying quite nice things about Kean when he brought him in, but he sure aint a manager. Not for us anyway.
I guess venkys will stick with him though - although there are people still available who could step in immediately - such as ONeill (yes please) or even Rafa (hope its not him as he would waste money like he did at l'pool) but there experienced proven managers out there who know how to manage a football club.
I dont go along with Suttys and others cheap jibes or acronyms - that doesnt seem fair to the bloke as he didnt ask for the job - but it is surely time for him to go and go quickly.

So here are some facts. KEANS MANAGERIAL STATS: . - 9 months in the job - 5 league wins in 22 games - won 2 from the last 15 . Hopefully now some of the fools here realise it. . WAKE UP LUVVIES. DONUT KEAN OUT.
On other note what are your thoughts about current front line guys of rovers. To me formica, rochina and goodwille looked good.
.
I think all 3 will be positive aquisitions for Rovers. But it would be nice to have a proven top striker come in. I know that's easier said then done, but I think most of us would agree that is by far the weakest area of our first team. Jason Roberts is a lovely bloke, but he's never going to score many.
.
Let's hope Venkys repair this situation. There is time, but it's running out...

There have been people who have tried to stay positive and not over-react to every statement or scare story that was out there but not sure anyone could be classed as a luvvie of an SK fan.

The anti Keans are implying that wolves are a poor team. They are not. They have a pragmatic manager that has built a squad over 4 years and they will get better each year - they will also make sure that they scrap for every point and will exploit weakness.
This was best shown by the way that Fletcher was always playing against either Salgado or olssen when crosses came in...basic, ruthless tactics.
.
We conceded two goals when not concentrating yesterday and we also took 12 corners and did not look like scoring from them. As a mid table team we HAVE to get more from our set pieces and we HAVE to work harder than the opposition.
.
We were always going to struggle with none of our "aggressive" senior players playing, but we did let ourselves down badly in basic disciplines.
.
With Formica, olssen, hoillet and goodwillie, we will score more goals this season...but we HAVE to be more ruthless!!!

Keep Darwen Green wrote:Just shut up you idiot. Why do you always flip out with the continued personal attacks? And attacking a woman you don't even know. Very classy. Keep this to football please, if you're even capable of that. You don't see anyone else here making personal remarks about the spouses of other fans. . You've already been proved wrong on more then one occasion here now and people are no longer interested in your 'positive rhetoric' about Kean. . Regards your comment: "What part of we had no centre backs do you both not understand": . - Well we had Myles Anderson on the bench. The first summer signing by Kean. Why didn't he play? If he can't get ahead of a CM in CB then what does that say? . Regards your question: "Say we sacked Steve Kean, what then, who would come in with the window shut and the same owners" . As others have mentioned on this page, there are numerous candidates available. . Now if you want a discussion, feel free to do so without the continued personal attacks, else I shall no longer respond to you (and whether you realise it or not, it's quite clear from the way you jump on my every comment on every page you do enjoy my attention). . D.K.OChrisSutton wrote: Well I think yesterday was a bit of a wake up call for some people here. Our squad is desperately thin at the moment. This is not a new development, our squads been need of a large overhaul since Venkys took charge. I'm not sure how long it's been, but 9 months is surely enough time to start judging. . Especially as they've been abusive towards those here who have been (rightly) critical of the manager/owners. . DONUT KEAN OUT.So let me get this straight sutty, you have a girlfriend that laughs at the plight of one of your own players when he is struggling and played out of position, just to build his confidence i guess. Nice girl, seems to me you should get married, a fine matched pair. Say we sacked Steve Kean, what then, who would come in with the window shut and the same owners, maybe you can get your girlfriend to figure that one out for you. Oh sorry forgot she's lacking upstairs as well. Do you Sutty take this bugalow as your awful wedded wife? made for eachother Bless
Maybe he laughed at your bungalow? Maybe it was you who he called a doughnut, ah thats what it was!!! It was you.
Employing Kean as manager was a mistake, but it would be much more of a mistake to sack him before he was allowed to bring in the players he wanted to show us what he can do. Formica looks good, roochina looks good, godwillie looks good, Petrovic looks good, so what is your beef? Do you want Goulon back? How many good signings did BFS make while he was here?
Furthermore maybe Kean didn't play myles anderson because he knows he's not up to it. Wasn't it Anderson Kentaro who recommended him to Venky's and kean does as he is told at that time? According to you thats what was happening, so would you put him in the side?
I'm not particularly a kean supporter and never have been I preferred to give him time and until the end of the window to see what he can do.
You on the other hand have done nothing but moan and whinge about him, which instead of portraying you as a level headed open minded calm and logical individual, makes you look tool instead.
So the other managers you mention, who walked out of their respective clubs because there was no money available, would come to ours, with no money available, mmmmmm bungalow disease must be spreading.
So if you want a proper football discussion free from personal attacks stop doing them yourself. Try talking about football instead. Have you ever actually played the game you know so much about? Please feel free to discuss holding a high line, or how to play against teams with pace or the benefits or drawbacks of zonal or man to man marking. Maybe you can tell me what defenders of a flat back four do when one full back pushes on.
Please tell, football genius. Better get your text books out you won't find the info on champ manager.

They have made exactly the type of signings our disgusting owners should have done. Johnson and O'Hara - two proven premier league quality players - cost £12 million between them. That is the standard we are up against and we should be matching. As it is our Indian friends are doing exactly what the Walker trust did before them. Selling off our best players and not reinvesting the money. My prediction for the next two weeks: sell Samba & Diouf for £15 million and sign two unheard of and unproven players. By September 1st they will have a tidy £30 million profit from summer transfers, not to mention wages. Not bad for two months 'work'.

Also, again so much panicking and nonsense being spouted after our loss. We had no experienced central defenders on Saturday - that is the simple reason why we lost. Hanley isn't in the same league as Jones and N'Zonzi played at the back simply because he was tall. There are fewer hard working and tough opponents to defend against as Fletcher and Doyle and it really showed. I am also a big fan of Stephen Hunt and like the last time we played Wolves he made a big impact for them. We will sign players before the end of the month so hold fire with the doom and gloom. I liked the look of the new players and can see that they are very good additions - so lets not go and buy or loan any old player just for the sake of it...even if it means surrendering points at Villa at the weekend because the real quality will become available on the last couple of days of the window.
