Blackburn Rovers Blog: Rovers’ fight for safety is no success

RECENT calls from national newspaper columnists to hand Steve Kean the Manager of the Season trophy were pretty laughable.
Granted, he did handle himself well when given a hefty amount of abuse from the Rovers fans, but when you're earning the money I'm sure he is on, it's probably quite easy to close your eyes and pretend it's not happening.
Apart from that, I see nothing that could possibly merit such high praise. How anyone can suggest a manager whose side has spent an entire season in the relegation zone is beyond me.
If Kean had inherited a team in grave danger then maybe you could understand, but he hasn't.
On to the most important matter at hand, tonight's game against Liverpool could really make or break our season.
Things looked on the up after back-to-back wins, but after three consecutive defeats, the most recent in a listless surrender at the hands of a potential relegation rival in which the majority of the team on the pitch looked uninterested, we're in dire straits.
And Liverpool at home really is a must-win game. They have done three of our relegation rivals massive favours by handing them points, and now it is our turn.
Surely King Kenny must have fond memories of his time at Ewood, and perhaps he is willing to give us a hand?
