Blackburn Rovers blog: Now it is time for Venky’s to show their backing behind survival scrap
12:50pm Thursday 15th March 2012 in Blackburn Rovers blogs
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
HOW good did it feel being associated with Blackburn Rovers at Molineux on Saturday?
A fantastic performance on the field, incredible away support and real hope that Rovers can end a miserable season by securing their Premier League status.
Nearly everyone has been doing their bit in recent weeks to make sure Rovers stay where they belong – in the Premier League – with a real sense of unity shown in VIRTUALLY all quarters.
The fans have put their understandable concerns to one side to ‘shout their side to safety’, while the players, manager and coaching staff have demonstrated the fight and desire needed.
Even those behind the scenes in the boardroom have been doing their bit, with ticket initiatives to encourage bumper Ewood support.
All that is missing now is the physical presence of the owners.
Wouldn’t this be the opportune time for Venky’s to pitch up again at Ewood?
Yes, they might be wary about the reaction they would face, and I’m sure they would attract a few boos, but it would be the best statement of intent about the future and their commitment to the football club.
I know some argue lots of owners are never seen at their clubs but that is when the infrastructure is such that they have people running it for them.
Venky’s have made it so they have total control.
They are the ones with the power and, as such, they should be at the club for the important mom-ents.
The football club have asked for everyone to unite behind their bid to beat the drop and the community has responded, the players have responded and the fans have responded.
Now is the time for Venky’s to respond.
A win at home to Sunderland on Tuesday and Rovers will be able to smell safety. The owners should be there to see it and their presence would be the clearest message they could send out that they do care about this club.
For all we remain concerned about the future of Blackburn Rovers – and will do until we get a clear and truthful vision for what it to come from the owner – there is a lot to be proud of here.
This is a club that made Junior Hoilett, that developed the likes of Martin Olsson, Grant Hanley, Jason Lowe and Adam Henley.
This is a club that can boast some of the most loyal and passionate bunch of fans around.
They care about their club and that is priceless.
Rovers fans will be shouting Rovers to safety on Tuesday and it would be nice for Venky’s to be there to see it.

Yes.... we'll end up with between 3 and 6 points from the drop zone with a win with 9 games remaining.... TOTALLY SAFE. I'll just wait for the "were in the mire" article again in a few weeks then eh.
I think a monkey could do the maths better @ LT.

Get rid of Kean & invest like you promised Venkies.
If BRFC dont go down this year, they certainly will next year.
This "manager" has had TWO survival battles on his hands, no top 5, no trophies, all players with any respect or talent have left or been shown the door.
Kean you have NO pulling power, no-one likes you FACT.
Unless they are scottish, no-one supports you either.
FFS leave!!

Haha I think we've been waiting for them to respond since the summer (with funds or actions not empty words). Dont worry though those behind the scenes are doing great work with ticket initiatives. Because the fans will shout us to safety. I hope thats right I really do, but surely replacing the manager with someone more capable would have been much easier and more reliable way of securing PL survival.
The path has been set by the LT and the club and when it all goes wrong, the fans will be blamed once again....

What planet are you on.
As Nell says: do you really expect us to forget all the ***** they have fed the support virtually since they arrived?
I think I can confidently say that this will never happen, and already Venkys are nailed on as the most despicable 'involvement' of our club ever. And always will be.
Can you not see that ALL have now come to the conclusion that they are a very bad influence to our clubs wellbeing.
For me and most this started upon the shoddy despatching of SA, and then further cemented upon the then deafening silence from John Williams and his eventual 'departure'.
That said everything I needed to know about Venkys.
Thankfully now, ALL see it the same way.
Just you wait for the deluge when the ST form's are sent out!!!!!

Personally, I've had enough of Venkys and will never forgive them for what they've put the cub, myself and other fans through!
Seasonticket sales next season will show just how much support the current regime has, and I would be surprised if more then 50% renew!
I also doubt they will ever set foot at Ewood again, and for everyone involved, I think that would be for the best!
