Blackburn Rovers blog: Passion is what will get us through

AFTER robbing Villa to steal what turned out to be a valuable point on Saturday, Wolves away is the most important game of our season so far.

Agree or disagree with the Lancashire Telegraph’s Shout Them To Safety campaign, the fans must try to create an air of positivity in the days leading up to our trip to Molineux.

Wolves’ stuffing at Fulham on Sunday means we are now out of the bottom three, and a win down there would put some real distance between us, both in points and goal difference.

They are a team in real trouble, much like us, and we must take advantage of them.

I was shocked at their managerial appointment – much like we were when Steve Kean was handed the reins at Ewood - and Terry Connor doesn’t seem to have halted the slide for them.

We lack a certain degree of quality these days, which was evident all the way through Saturday’s dire performance, so our survival fight is all about passion – the kind of passion Dunny showed to rescue a point.

He’s not over the hill just yet, and as the only local lad in the dressing room his importance to the team mustn’t be understated.

He is the only person left who fully understands what the club means to the town and its people.

A win at Wolves would set us up nicely for two more massively important games, starting with Sunderland at home on Tuesday March 20 and then at Bolton.

We have every chance of taking something from them and Bolton away.

It is time for positivity and passion among the Rovers faithful.

And a sell-out away end at Molineux is the perfect starting block.

Why are the Venkys allowed to tell me (a pure Blackburian) what I can bring into MY ground!! Only under UK monetry LAW is the club theres, but in GODS eyes its mine!!

Dan, surely they cant stop us bringing BANNERS into part of our own TOWN!

This is Blackburn!

This is our Club!

This is our town!

Us the people of Blackburn will decide the rules!

Not Indians, or southerners, or UNSURE monarchs!

Tig, youre on!

Wow its been a long time since i last made a post. We've been in a real mess the whole season just yesterday i was remembering that Arsenal were just above us earlier in the season, now i look at the table and see where they are and where we are at the moment and all i feel is deep sadness. This weekend is a vital 3 points needless saying, im just tired of hoping another relegation candidate team loses each week in order for us to stay out of the drop zone. Prove to the fans lads that you can get the job done. Win the next 9 games atleast, 6 if im asking too much.

Sick of reading interviews with players about how 'now is the time' and 'this is the biggest point of the season / my career' or anything else we already know, when they still go out and produce performances like that against Villa.

Why the hell couldn't we beat the weakest Villa side in years at our own ground when our survival depends on it?? Its fair enough to ask the fans to do all they can to help the team stay up but when we still play the 'sit back and soak it up' approach instead of trying to win every ball and not give teams any time on it...I actually think we've got a more difficult game against Wolves than Villa should have been, being that Wolves are also scrapping for their lives. Being that its at Molineux the players MUST start playing with fire in their bellys or we are will be in need of a massive dose of luck.
