Kean: Venky's are the right people for Rovers
7:54am Thursday 10th May 2012 in Blackburn Rovers Relegation
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
UNDER-fire Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is adamant Venky’s are “100 per cent” the right owners for the club – after claiming “exciting times” are ahead despite their Premier League drop.
The Ewood Park outfit is surrounded in chaos as the Asian poultry giants continue to greet a disastrous relegation with silence, but Kean was insistent there are still reasons to be positive.
Rovers gave the impression of being in meltdown yesterday, with no-one at the club able to confirm whether deputy chief executive Paul Hunt had left or not following his explosive letter written in December calling for Kean to be sacked being leaked.
The Rovers boss and Venky’s have been the subject of huge anger from supporters, having taken the club from mid-table to relegation in 18 months.
But, despite mounting pressure for change at Ewood, Kean was insistent the new regime was here to stay.
When asked are they the right owners for the club, Kean said: “Yes, 100 per cent.
“We have taken a massive step backward step but we have to look forward. I am sure we can get back at the first time of asking. The owners are not going anywhere, I am not going anywhere.
“Every time I have spoken to them they have told me categorically that they are in it for the long-term.
“They feel emotionally bonded with the club. They want to get the club back to the level it should be at – and beyond as soon as possible.
“It is changing time for the club. We have new owners, I am new into the job myself. We are moving forward and it is going to be a very exciting time for the club.”
Venky’s silence has been deafening about their plans for the club virtually ever since they bought Rovers from the Walker Trust.
Hunt’s leaked letter, written in December, even wrote of financial problems and the need for more investment but Kean says the club is now more stable than it has been for a long time.
Kean said: “The club was in a financial position where I don’t think it was the most stable. Now we’re in a very stable financial position – what we’ve not got, we’ve not got premiership football “I think this is really disappointing because we wanted to make sure at least we could take it to the last game and make a real good effort from it. But its not to be so we just need to move forward.
“I think there’s been challenging times – we’ve lost a lot of experienced players there’s been a total change within the club as far as what was in place for a number of years with the trust owning the club and lots of directors that have now since gone so it's a changing time.
“But what we’ve got to do now is look at where we are as a club and say ‘we don’t belong here, we make sure from the 1st new player that comes into the building that it's a player that can move us in the right direction.
“I've had support from the owners every day. Up until the transfer window closed we talked on a regular basis but then when the transfer window closed we'd speak on the phone. They've supported me all the way through.”

It`s to late for fans who have already purchased their season tickets, but following the continued abuse of we as fans by the owners & Kean, SHAME on anyone who puts another £1 into the club until things change, that includes sponsors, advertising and the club shop.

His comment that the owners
"feel emotionally bonded with the club" is the biggest load of bullsh*t ever. How many times have this bunch of muppets taken time to come to a game, or even grace Ewood with their presence? Not often by the sounds of it !
Maybe the emotional bond is with the potential ££££s they can embezzle from player sales, parachute payments, etc.

Since we have been relegated he's managed to get even worse - and I didn't think that was possible!
Hunt stood up for the fans and criticized Kean and he's out on his arse. What hold does Kean have over the Venky's?! Has he got pictures of Desai in compromising positions with chickens?!

If conman Kean is within 50 miles of any meeting, then that would confirm the bulls..t content.
Venky,s have never shown support in the transfer market with no REAL investment AND conman Kean as NEVER shown ability in see quality or potential in any players he has brought into the club.
This Venky saga as been going for 20 months and is not a new era .....it is a continuing mis-management from top to bottom that as been consistent in it,s failings across the board.

Since then, he has been mocking the media and fans as if he admits he is useless and incapable of the job, but he is untouchable and despite being despised, he knows we've got to live with him.

STRIKE, STRIKE, STRIKE!!!!
I can understand the views of both sets of fans on season ticket renewal. The "It's our club not theirs" approach. I also understand the stay away until the b@st@rds have gone point of view.
If we are split then we will be ridiculed by all and sundry due to our poor attendances in future. This will alienate the fans and will do little to bring Venky's and Kean under the media spotlight.
In my opinion the fans should declare their support of the club and their real concerns by participating in a very public and well supported strike.
I love Blackburn Rovers as we all do but i think a strike is the best option. We dont walk away from the club we simply go on strike and withdraw our support until the management come to the table and aknowledge our concerns and enter in to dialogue.
One out all out!!!

“From what I can gather we are not going to have to sell players to generate funding. It’s an exciting time. I don’t think they have bought the club to leave it where it is.
“They have bought it to take the club forward and up the league. It will be an exciting time to see what level it is and if I get the opportunity to sit down and discuss it with them, or whoever gets that opportunity, it will be an exciting time for the club.
How long do we have to put up with these exciting times? Isn’t 18 months enough?

As we know thousands are not rewnewing there season tickets the thing i would like to know is are they still going to buy tickets for the game against the dingles can rovers fans possibly stay away i know its going to be heartbreaking not to be there but it has to be done !!!

Like everybody else, i've moaned and groaned, kicked and screamed, i've continued to sit there game after game scratching my head, bewildered.
There's more to life than football and, sadly, the fans will always care more more than the players and the manager, to them it's just a job.
What's been happening at Ewood Park over the last 18 months is a sign of the times, it's a reflection of the state that the national game is in now.
Personally, I couldn't care less what division Rovers are in as long as they aren't conducting business like this both on and off the field.
We can't all be successful, rich and fashionable...Rovers were two of those three things back in the early/mid nineties but let's face facts, a fashionable club it will never be. However, it has a proud history and did, up until the insertion of these vermin, have a very respectable reputation.
Relegation doesn't hurt, hell, anyone watching this shower of s*** all season could see it was on the cards, it's no big deal. What hurts is the feeling of ever growing distance from everything that, primarily, at the core, has always made BRFC what it is. We're all long suffering supporters, for me, it's in my blood, my old man has seen some very baron times indeed, even he's never seen a team and a manager that stinks like this.
We can take the occasional crap side that can't cut the mustard, what we can't take is gross mismanagement, misconduct and sheer lack of sympathy, respect and appreciation for the supporters and the people of the town.
When all said and done, it's only football and we won't be the last club to get bent over and abused in this way. It's all about money, football worships it and until our principals in what we expect from the game as a whole change, this kind of madness will be recurring.
I've hated football for a long time now, i'm not just ashamed of the club I have supported since I could walk and talk, i'm ashamed of the sport.
Anyone expecting the media or the FA to help us, get real. The media loathes Blackburn, I bet the Premier League are glad to see the back of us.
If i've offended anyone with what i've said in this post, I apologise (except for Steve Kean, he's a c***)

Then one day Jack Walker took over the club with a dream and we all followed that dream of putting Blackburn Rovers back into the top flight of Football, playing against the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea etc.
And futher more a dream which Jack had of winning the league, playing in Europe putting Blackburn on the map where many years before they once was.
Now that dream has become just a memory for all of us at Blackburn and the worst possible nightmare has arrived at our club.
The future of our team and club now is doomed. Within the next 12 months we will be a team of history the club will never survive this turmoil with the current owners. All they seem interested in is taking the money until its all gone.
Thanks Jack Walker for giving all of us the dream.

I believe the Venkys when Steve Kean says they told him they are "emotionally bonded with the club". As young boys who farmed their chickens in New Delhi, they would have watched with wide eyes as Alan Shearer held that trophy aloft in 1992. They probably dreamed of playing for the blue and white of Blackburn one day. And who wouldn't? Not many people can fulfil that ambition but as men they have done the next best thing possible: actually OWN Blackburn Football club. This is an honour and a privelege for any man, be he chicken farmer, footballer, or astronaut. And with that honour comes responsibility. Running a football club is not the same as running an overseas poultry business, although this debate is set to rage on. Let's hope Venkys can do the right thing by this majestic club.
