A DARWEN FC footballer has been congratulated for his business skills.
First-team player Graham Perkins was honoured at a convention in Vancouver, Canada, for his other passion, business.
The business coach, of Fielding Lane, Oswald-twistle, who works for training organisation Dale Carnegie, was flown across the Atlantic to receive Rookie of the Year.
He was presented with the award by the company’s chief executive, Peter Handal.
The award recognises the achievements of salespeople who have excelled at their targets despite only working for the organisation for a short period of time.
Graham, 25, who joined the business at the end of 2006, received a medal and $1,000.
Managing director Juliette Dennett, north of England franchise owner, said: “Graham’s achievement is immense.
“Based on his performance to date, I’m certain he will have a wonderful future with us.”
Dale Carnegie operates in more than 70 countries and with more than 600 salespeople worldwide, the company works with businesses of all sizes in people development.
