Ramsbottom United travel to Wembley-bound Glossop North End in the Vodkat League Premier Division fixture tomorrow, hoping to continue their recent good run of form of back-to-back wins.
It’s a big test for the revived Riversiders, against the FA Vase finalists, who are also chasing promotion to the UniBond League.
But Riverside caretaker manager Paul Williams believes his men are good enough to get something from the game, especially if North End have their minds on Wembley.
“It will be a difficult game, especially as they have just reached Wembley in the FA Vase,” said Williams. “But I am not worried about who we are playing or what they have achieved.
“We are going there to win, we are going there in a positive frame of mind and the fact that they have this big match ahead of them might work in our favour. We shall see but I am feeling confident having seen the way the lads have played this last week.”
Steve Maden could start for United after scoring minutes after being sent on as a substitute in midweek, while John Lea and Matt Woods are in contention after recovering from injury.
Nelson were beaten 3-0 at Glossop on Wednesday night but will look to get back to winning ways tomorrow when they face derby rivals Colne at Victoria Park.
The Blues will field Vodkat Premier Division player of the month for March Luke Hargreaves in the derby.
It is the fourth such award Nelson have picked up this season despite their unpredictable form, which has seen them slip down the table during a seven-match run without a win.
Colne, meanwhile, have pulled clear of the danger zone with their run of wins under Nigel Coates and have a strong squad to select from for the game.
Bacup Borough, whose Wednesday game with Squires Gate was postponed, look to return to action - and to winning ways - when they tackle Maine Road.
And this afternoon, Padiham aim to overturn the impossible when they travel to New Mills in the second-leg of the Vodkat League Cup semi-final. The Storks trail the big spending Premier Division outfit 5-0 from the first-leg.
