Barnett commits to Stanley deal
12:40pm Monday 16th July 2012 in News
Charlie Barnett is the latest player to re-sign for Stanley after agreeing a new one-year deal at the club.
The 23-year-old joined from Tranmere in the summer of 2010 and has made 85 appearances for the Reds to date, scoring three times.
He's now committed to a third season at the club as Paul Cook builds his squad for 2012/13.
“The gaffer’s signed a few players nice and early and got a good squad together working hard in pre-season," said Barnett. "I’m sure there will be more signings as we get towards the first game. Personally I’m just looking to cement my place in the pre-season games and kick on from there.
Cook now has 16 players registered ahead of the new season, and more additions are expected as pre-season progresses.

Very happy to be keeping him though because he's a quality player for League 2 and will probably be the creative spark for the good attacking football we'll hopefully be seeing under Cook.
It actually looks like our team will be strong in numbers as well as quality this year if we get some of the better trialists signed up!

Don't really think he's had the chance to show his true worth with Procter being a certain pick regardless of form and Ian Craney rocking back up everytime the club he'd swanned off to realised how limited/selfish/fat he was.
This season could well be the making of him, I certainly hope that will be the case as it looks the strongest league two since we got into it.
