ACCRINGTON Stanley are poised to offer new deals to out of contract pair Aaron Chapman and Scott Brown.

The duo have been virtual ever-presents for the Reds this season and helped John Coleman's side lift the League Two title and secure promotion to the third tier.

Goalkeeper Chapman is poised to win the Golden Glove award for the division having kept 18 of Stanley's league high 19 clean sheets in his 44 league games, while midfielder Brown has made 43 appearances this term and scored his first league goal for the club in the win at Wycombe last month.

Stanley close their season at Swindon Town this afternoon (3pm) and manager Coleman admitted he had already started planning for next season.

And, while he was remaining coy on offers of new deals, he hopes Chapman and Brown will be part of the squad for the 2018-19 campaign.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "It is all in hand, they are a work in progress.

Asked if expected the duo to be Stanley players next season, Coleman said: "I don't see any reason why they won't be."

Brown, 32, joined Stanley on a two-year deal in 2016 and has made 86 appearances for the club while Chapman, 27, joined in the same summer and has featured 68 times for the Reds having firmly established himself as Stanley No.1 this season.

The Reds have the majority of their first-team squad under contract as they prepare for their first season in the third tier in their history.
