JOHN Coleman has credited his players for his personal success.

Not only has the Accrington Stanley boss received back-to-back manager of the month awards for League Two, in February and March, but he has also been voted by his counterparts as the division’s manager of the year.

But while he is pleased and proud of the accolades, he does not feel the club’s success is down to him.

“It’s nice to have that, but that’s really a credit to the players,” he said.

“It’s not because of my managerial skills it’s because of how well the players have done on the pitch I think.

“You have to just give all the credit for what we’ve achieved so far, which is just a healthy position - nothing else, we haven’t won promotion or anything yet - but all that credit has to go to the players because of how hard they work and the desire and determination they’ve shown.

“We don’t have the greatest facilities but they put that to the back of their mind and get on with the job.”
