STANLEY boss John Coleman has celebrated two award victories in a week but it is three points that are top of his agenda.

The Reds go to Colchester tomorrow top of League Two and knowing a win in Essex and another victory at home to Exeter on Saturday week will secure promotion.

Regardless of those two results, Coleman’s side need just eight points from their remaining seven games to mathematically secure League One football after a startling run of 14 wins in 16 league matches since Boxing Day.

Stanley’s remarkable form has propelled them to the summit, three points clear of Luton, and seen Coleman win the manager of the month honour for February and March as well as being named boss of the League Two team of the year which included Reds striker Billy Kee and midfielder Sean McConville.

But despite all the plaudits rightly coming Stanley’s way, Coleman knows the promotion job is not done yet.

“Everyone thinks it is dead easy, we have got two games in hand which everyone equates to six points but it doesn’t work like that,” said the Reds chief.

“I am not comfortable with the notion that we are already there because I know we are not and I have been around the block long enough to know that.

“And to be fair the players are keeping their feet firmly on the ground, they are enjoying every win and celebrating every win but that is what they are celebrating - just a win not that they have done anything.

“You only have to see how hard the players work to see that. It is great to come into work and it is great to be around these lads, they are infectious and their enthusiasm is only getting better and better.

“Their work rate is fantastic and their fitness levels for this stage of the season is fantastic.”

On his most recent monthly award, Coleman added: “It is the players, whichever manager’s team accrues the most points gets manager of the month.

“It is good for the players and is testament to how hard they have worked and to get maximum points out of the month is a great achievement.

“It is a great achievement to do it any month but certainly coming into the end months it is crucial.

“We have just got to see the job through now.”

Meanwhile, Stanley’s Jordan Clark has been nominated for goal of the month for his strike in the home win over Forest Green. Voting opens at 6am today and closes on Tuesday with the winners announced next Friday. To vote visit www.skysports.com.
