JOHN Coleman says he is being cautious with captain Seamus Conneely's comeback.

The midfielder was sidelined for five weeks with a groin problem that required surgery.

He returned for the win over Coventry City last weekend, and managed to complete the full 90 minutes.

But Conneely was an unused substitute in the midweek win over Crewe Alexandra.

And Coleman hinted that he would again be rested when the Reds travel to Barnet tomorrow.

“He’s been out for five weeks and to come straight back in we were pleased that he got 90 minutes under his belt against Coventry," said the Stanley boss of skipper Conneely.

“We’ve got good midfielder all competing for places and it would be folly to rush him, and bring him back too soon so it may be a couple more weeks before he’s right back in the fold and playing regularly."

Sean McConville failed a fitness test ahead of last Saturday's win at the Ricoh Arena, and was sidelined on Tuesday, but could come back into contention tomorrow.

"I hope so," added Coleman.

“I don’t think Sean McConville will be far away now, and we’ve got the added luxury of having Seamus to come back in."
