KAYDEN Jackson admits he is relishing the chance to play in front of a big crowd at the Ricoh Arena ahead of Stanley's trip to Coventry this afternoon.

The Reds make the journey to the East Midlands in third place in League Two and a victory over another side with designs on promotion would cement their place in the top three ahead of a home game with struggling Crewe on Tuesday night.

Jackson was among the goals in the 2-1 win over Swindon Town last time out, taking his tally to 11 for the season and four in his last seven games.

And the 23-year-old admits there will be an extra spice to his Coventry visit given that he nearly signed for the Sky Blues last summer.

He said: "In the summer before I signed here there was a little bit of interest from Coventry so there is a bit more added motivation against teams that I have left or being linked to and then the manager hasn't come back to my agent or stuff like that. That gives me a boost before a game."

The striker added: "At the beginning of the season you always look out for when you are going to play in the big stadiums and the Ricoh was the one that stood out for me.

"The crowd being big will help us as well and historically Accrington always do well at the big clubs.

"Personally there is nothing better than playing in front of a big crowd.

"I would like to silence the home crowd and show Coventry what they are missing as well."

Jackson, released by Championship club Barnsley at the end of last season after a frustrating loan spell at Grimsby in League Two meant that the Yorkshireman faced an uncertain future.

And although his move to Coventry didn't materialise the former Swindon hotshot admits moving to Stanley has worked out to a tee.

He said: "I never would have thought this in the summer, I didn't really know where I was going to be and was scraping about for a club.

"To be here in February in the automatic promotion places, it's mad to think how far I have come. Hopefully this is just the start and we can get promoted.

"I don't think I have been at a club longer than a season, I am a bit of a journeyman but I am loving my time here.

"It all worked out perfectly for me. This time last year I moved into my house that is 20 minutes down the road and at that time I had no clue that I would end up at Accrington.

"Everything has been perfect for me front the management, the team that I am playing with and the style of football, playing good attacking football which suits me down to a tee."
