STANLEY striker Billy Kee has been nominated for the League Two player of the month award for January.

The frontman scored three times during the month and also weighed in with two assists as Stanley won three out of four to keep their promotion push on track.

Kee also scored in the weekend win over Stevenage and leads the fourth tier goalscoring charts with 18 to his name ahead of tonight's clash with Swindon Town at the Wham Stadium.

The 27-year-old faces competition from two other strikers - Enzio Boldewijn at Crawley and Marc McNulty a Coventry City - along with Newport County winger Robbie Willmott.

Stanley boss John Coleman missed out on being nominated for manager of the month with Wycombe's Gareth Ainsworth, Mansfield's Steve Evans, Swindon's Dave Flitcroft and Crawley's Harry Kewell on the shortlist.

The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
