ACCRINGTON Stanley new boy Offrande Zanzala has promotion in his sights having joined the Reds on loan from Derby County.

The 21-year-old made his debut as a late substitute in the weekend win over Cheltenham Town last weekend which saw John Coleman's side return to League Two's automatic promotion places.

And Zanzala, who has signed on with the Reds for the rest of the season, wants to stay there.

"I am looking to come in and help and get promotion, said the forward who spent time on loan with Stevenage in 2016 and played four times in the National League for Chester this term.

The Congo-born ace is highly-rated at his parent club and is determined to make the most of his chance at the Wham Stadium.

"It is a massive opportunity for me,"he added. "It is good for Derby as well for them to see the youngsters like myself and see how good they are as players in new challenges.

"I have settled in and am looking forward to training and showing people what I am capable of doing. It is a good platform to show my talent to other people."

Zanzala has scored plenty of goals for Derby's Academy and Under-23 sides and wants to transfer that scoring knack to the Football League.

He said: "I am a player with aggression, power and pace. I like to dribble, I am strong and direct and a threat. I score goals and one of the key things is that I work hard. I put myself about and work hard for the team.

"But the main thing is that I am goalscorer and I want to take that to Accrington and do well.

"It is a massive difference from Under-23s to men's football, different speed to the game and tactically challenging. It is the lifestyle as well, you have to be responsible.

"The physically at Under-23s is different to football at any other level. It is different when you play against men. You have to be a bit more aggressive because coming to play in League Two you have to be able to hold your own and be strong when tackles are coming in because everything counts.

"There is no hiding place, the fans can be on your case, the manager, the other players so it is very important.

"I can't wait for the challenge and test myself to see how good a player I am."
