ACCRINGTON Stanley are set to sign Polish youth international goalkeeper Maksymilian Stryjek on loan from Championship side Sunderland.

Reds boss John Coleman has been keen to bring in another goalkeeper as competition for Reds No.1 Aaron Chapman and Stryjek is set to complete his move on Thursday.

The 21-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for the Black Cats but did feature in the Checkatrade Trophy last season.

He has previously had a loan spell in non-league with Boston United and has been a regular for Sunderland's Under-21 side.

Stryjek joined Sunderland from MKS Polonia in 2013 and has a contract at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2019.

Stanley signed Danish keeper Simon Bloch Jorgensen earlier this month but the 24-year-old, who played in the Carabao Cup win over Preston North End, has only penned a short term deal.

Accrington's first choice keeper Chapman has played in all of the Reds' League Two fixtures so far this season and was man of the match in the 2-2 draw at Notts County last time out.

Stanley have made a strong start to the season so far and sit sixth in the table ahead of this weekend's derby trip to Morecambe.
