BURNLEY offer the fifth cheapest season ticket among Premier League clubs while Blackburn Rovers' matchday prices are amongst the lowest in the Championship, according to the BBC's Price of Football study.

The annual study, which is now in its sixth year, also revealed that Accrington Stanley have the second cheapest season ticket in League Two at £199 as well as the cheapest most expensive season ticket in the division at £264.50.

In the Premier League the Clarets cheapest season ticket price of £329 is beaten only by Hull City, Stoke, West Ham and Manchester City. Their cheapest matchday ticket price of £30 rates 10th in the top flight.

Rovers' £18 ticket for matchday admission is bettered in the Championship only by Birmingham City, Derby County and Huddersfield.

The cheapest Ewood Park season ticket is £279 which is the seventh cheapest in the league.

The combined cost of a pie, tea and programme at Turf Moor is £8, while the same combination costs £7.90 at Rovers and £6.50 at Stanley.

A junior replica shirt is £32 at Burnley, £35 at Blackburn and £29.99 at Stanley, while an adult shirt is £40 for the Clarets, £48 for Rovers and £39.99 for Stanley.

Overall the BBC study found that the cost of attending Premier League football has come in the first season of the record £5.136bn TV deal.

More than two thirds of tickets across the UK are either down or their prices held for the 2016-17 season.

It can now be more expensive to buy an away ticket at a Championship game than in the Premier League thanks to top-flight clubs agreeing to cap prices for visiting fans at £30.

The average price of the most expensive away ticket in the Premier League is £29.44 (down 37 per cent year-on year), while the average price of the most expensive away ticket in the Championship is £31.57 (up five per cent y-o-y).
