JOHN Coleman says he will be doing his utmost to avoid the telephone on transfer deadline day.

With Accrington Stanley unlikely to be making any further additions before Tuesday’s 6pm cut-off, the Reds manager’s biggest fear is losing any of his star players.

Coleman has already put a £1million pricetag on the head of attacking midfielder Josh Windass and labelled Matt Crooks a future “millionaire” player, while there has been interest in winger Piero Mingoia over the last 12 months.

But while any sale would give the club’s coffers a boost, boss Coleman is determined to keep his squad in tact.

And although he has yet to receive any offers for any of his players, he has not ruled it out.

“I’ll be hiding on deadline day,” he said.

“I just don’t want to lose anybody.

“We’ve got some good players in our squad and people always covet good players.”

Stanley have tomorrow’s visit of Northampton Town to prepare for first.

Their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy first round tie, at home to Bury, comes straight after Tuesday’s deadline.

“I’ll have already prepared for a game. I’ll be doing what I normally do on deadline day – go and play golf and turn my phone off.”

The spotlight has fallen most recently on Crooks, after scoring against Hull City in the Capital One Cup, and a Football League first to earn a draw at Notts County last weekend.

And Coleman feels there are more to come.

“He should be getting double figures. I’d be disappointed if he doesn’t,” said Coleman, who has a full squad to choose from tomorrow, including fit-again Andy Procter.

“We had a bit of a training game against Blackburn on Tuesday to give nearly everyone in the squad 90 minutes.

“That’s been a big help for us because lads who haven’t played crave match experience.

“Keenan (Quansah) played a good half and Andy Procter played about 75 minutes.

“We’ve got everyone now competing for a place.”
