ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman admits his side's impressive pre-season performances are giving him a selection headache ahead of the League Two season.

The Reds were 4-0 winners away at non-league side Marine on Saturday afternoon and with the opening game of the campaign against Luton Town now under two weeks away Coleman, who used 22 players in Liverpool, admits he has plenty of tough decisions to make before deciding on his first starting XI of the season.

“Everyone who is getting an opportunity is taking it," said Coleman.

"Some of the football we played was really good; when we got the ball, we used it really well.

"We’ve got be confident in getting teams on the back-foot and we want our football to be pleasing on the eye.”

All the goals at Marine came in the second half as Adam Morgan netted twice with Billy Kee and Seamus Conneely also on target.

“I was really, really pleased with the attitude,” said Coleman. “We played two different teams in each half, both for different reasons, and it was a difficult game.

“We contained them well in the first half, played some good football and hit the woodwork three times.

“In the second half, it helped that we scored straight from kick-off, but we did everything right and we were professional in what we did.

“We closed out the game well, we pressed when we had to and we used the ball intelligently when we had time with it. It was a smashing performance.”

Kealan Steenson hit the post in the first half for Stanley while Gerardo Bruna also went close before Morgan scored within 60 seconds of the re-start.

The striker quickly added a second with a curling effort before Matt Crooks saw a goal ruled out for offside.

Morgan then hit the post as he searched for a hat-trick before Conneely did make it three with a left foot finish.

Kee then rounded of the scoring in the closing stages.
