Accrington Stanley boss James Beattie says he beat off several other sides to complete the permanent signing of Adam Buxton.
The 22-year-old defender has joined the Reds on a one-year deal having spent two months on loan at the Store First Stadium last season.
And Beattie is delighted to have got his man after Buxton was released by Wigan Athletic.
“There were a lot of other teams looking at him but he liked what he saw here last season.
“He knows it is a great club for him to showcase his skills. Adam is a talented young player, he is quiet off the pitch but tough on it. He is a great addition for us.”
