BURNLEY chief executive Lee Hoos has tonight ruled out a return to Turf Moor for Owen Coyle.

The Clarets have a managerial vacancy as Eddie Howe completes his move to Bournemouth and Coyle is available after being sacked by Bolton earlier this week.

Coyle guided Burnley into the Premier League in 2009 but angered fans when he left for Bolton months later.

Asked if a return for Coyle could be a possibility, Hoos said: “I just couldn’t see how that one could happen.

“Obviously I wasn’t there when the whole Owen Coyle saga happened but I got enough feedback to know that there was a very bitter aftertaste and I just couldn’t see a way back for that one.

“Being free and available is not necessarily the hallmark of what going for, it has to be the right person – the right man for right job at the right time.”
