Howe's Burnley exit agreed

EDDIE Howe’s departure from Burnley back to Bournemouth has now been agreed.

Talks between the two clubs hit a stalemate last night in what was understood to be a tussle over the compensation package.

Negotiations between the Clarets and the Cherries resumed this morning, with talks between the two clubs reaching a conclusion this afternoon.

Howe is expected to be unveiled before Bournemouth's game against Leyton Orient tomorrow.

HOWE: I'm leaving for personal reasons

The Clarets have released a statement saying: "Burnley Football Club can confirm that a compensation package has today been agreed with AFC Bournemouth for the services of manager Eddie Howe.

"Howe has today left Burnley Football Club for personal and family reasons."

The 34-year-old, who had 18 months left to run on a three-and-half year contract at Turf Moor, returns to the club he first managed and led to promotion from League Two in his first full season in charge.

A statement issued by joint Burnley chairmen John Banaszkiewicz and Mike Garlick said: "We are surprised and disappointed that Eddie is leaving a great club like Burnley so soon in the season.

“However, we understand that his decision reflects his personal circumstances rather than any matters at Burnley Football Club, be that supporters, the players or the Board.

“We wish Eddie well in his future career and thank him for the hard work he has done at Burnley over the past 20 months.

“Since we were elected co-chairmen, we have embarked on a wide-ranging programme of development at Burnley Football Club and this will continue.

“In some ways this change creates new opportunities that we can take on board as we look to improve upon our league position and create a strong platform for the future.

“We remain 100 per cent committed and ambitious for the club.

“Eddie’s sudden departure will not deter us from our plans and we are confident that the team will rally round while we seek his replacement – a search that has already begun.”

I really hope we break the bank for Steve Kean. He had such a rough deal from our neighbouring idiots that I hope we give him the chance to prove what a good manager he is!! If we do get Kean then lets go and poach Hendry & Black from them aswell and really show Rovers who the big boys are.

Bumley fans make not like this but i have it from a good source that they are seriously thinking of getting Steve Kean former manager of Blacburn to manage the club on a rolling contract until the end of this season.

Joking aside, Kean will certainly put his hat in the ring as he has done at Bolton. He has been Burnleys man all through so looks like he might get another job soon at Turf Moor
