A WONDER goal from Martin Paterson and Chris McCann's third of the season have given Burnley the advantage at the break.
The Clarets took the lead through McCann after Junior Stanislas' initial shot was pushed onto the post.
The ball came out into the path of the midfielder, who instinctively prodded home the rebound from eight yards in the 26th minute.
Paterson doubled the lead just before the half-hour after receiving the ball from Marvin Bartley.
The striker, who hadn't scored since the opening day win over Bolton Wanderers, controlled the ball and hooked a stunning shot over his left shoulder and Julian Speroni and into the far left corner of the net.
Palace, who went into the game on a six-game unbeaten run, had a record of scoring in every game this season.
And that pattern continued through dangerman Wilfried Zaha, who beat Kieran Trippier for pace and tucked the ball beyond Lee Grant.
