Blackburn Rovers duo out of Barnsley clash

GAEL Givet and Markus Olsson have been ruled out of Blackburn Rovers' home game against Barnsley tomorrow.

Givet picked up a dead leg at Bristol City on Saturday and could be out for a week, while Olsson has a grade one hamstring tear and is expected to be on the sidelines for seven to 10 days.

Jason Lowe is expected to come back into contention tomorrow, however, after recovering from injury.

Best squad ever - trust him do you?

Please listen you need someone in the back four to organise themselves on the field as well as bodies. It was just same last season the difference this season is we score goals - the defence needs improving and not just by appointing a coach

Kean will be amazed that Nelsen os fit and playing in the Premier League - he could do a job for us - now TELL THE TRUTH WHY HE LEFT ?

Was it money was it that you did not want to play him or did he know more than you about the game and what was required.

Until we hear the truth Kean will never win over the fans and I doubt he ever will must be the most despised Manager in Football

Surely you lot are Bumley fans.

If Givet is out we play Hanley. What is the problem? If Hanley and Givet are out we play Henrique. If all are out Etuhu can play there - which is incredibly unlikely (bloody hell, Michael Carrick plays centre back for Manure quite often).

Martin Olsson is a better left back than his brother so surely that improves the side!

If Kolo Toure fancies a game then fair enough, but until then cheer up - We are top of the league, we are top of the league!

Only top of the league because of the strikers, if it wasn't for them where might Rovers be? the defence is useless Kean may have just cottoned on to it but he probably can't do much with them now as he's a useless manager.

Reg Rover says...

ROVERS EYEING CARRACHER
Sources close to Ewood Park suggest that the Rovers are looking closely at Liverpool’s Jamie Carracher (pic above) as a possible successor to Steve Kean to take the Ewood hot seat.
With attendances plummeting because of Kean’s continued presence at the club Rovers hierarchy feel it is not a situation they can allow to continue indefinitely.
With Rovers having gone top of the N Power Championship table on Saturday, the attendance at Tuesday’s home game v Barnsley is crucial to the future of Kean. Also taking into account the home debut of £8 Million striker Jordan Rhodes, the Rovers hierarchy expect an improvement on the 13,500 attendances at Rovers previous 2 home games.
Despite Kean’s denials that he has not been set a points target as reported in this week’s press and that “someone was mischief making” Kean’s body language at Bristol City on Saturday told a different story. Kean was nervy, edgy and agitated throughout, and his post-match interview was tinged with a touch of modesty and relief. Not the usual bullish, cocky, over confident Kean.
The Rovers hierarchy, now they have men who understand football on the board of directors, i.e. Shebby Singh and Derek Shaw, are fully aware that even though Rovers are unbeaten during the first 5 opening games they could just as easily have lost all 5 , drawn all 5, or won all 5. Rover’s performances have been unconvincing and laced with a little more than good luck.
However, top of the table is top of the table and puts Kean in a position of immense strength. If the ‘wheels’ come off, as many suspect they will, Rovers want a ready-made replacement and Carracher is being seriously considered.
Seventeen years as a player at Liverpool, Carracher is in the last year of his contract and the 34 year old Liverpool icon is unlikely to be offered another. Carracher has made it known he would like to go into football management eventually. He would probably jump at the chance to start his management career with a club as prestigious as Blackburn Rovers.
Carracher is high profile worldwide, which appeals to the Venky’s who want to repair the damage done by Kean to their global brand.
Apart from playing at the very top level both for Liverpool and England, Carracher has won many honours including Champions League Glory in 2005, plus FA Cup, Carling Cup, UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup Winners medals plus 38 England Caps. Carracher also made his name as a TV pundit at this year’s Euro finals.
A product of the famous Anfield boot room, Jamie Carracher oozes confidence and experience. He would be a rooky manager and it would be a gamble by the Rover’s. They took a gamble with Kean and it failed. However Mark Hughes was handed his first League management job at Blackburn and proved to be a big success.
Reg.

Will Jason Rhodes save Kean? Probably, this lad could prove to be the next Alan Shearer.

I know for a fact that Singh and Shaw are looking for a new manager and I have it from the horses mouth that a local manager (north west based ) HAS had a meeting with both where they sounded him out, clearly Singh does not like Kean and Shaw understands the issues with him staying, 1 slip up is all it will take to get rid, let's hope it is soon then we can get back to Ewood and enjoy our football again.

A few people are missing the point I think. The overall quality of the back four is not as good as it could have been given the amount of money spent on the forwards and midfield, which is still well shy of the amount of money taken for the players that have left. So in that respect there is a problem!

Not until he's history. Even if we're back in the Prem next year I won't step foot in Ewood if the twonk is still in charge.
Then go to turf moor.

Moan Moan Moan, I'll be there cheering the TEAM on.

A few people are missing the point I think. The overall quality of the back four is not as good as it could have been given the amount of money spent on the forwards and midfield, which is still well shy of the amount of money taken for the players that have left.

It's fairly common knowledge why Nelson left. He wrote a letter to Madam Desai just before Xmas last year saying that Kean should be replaced. She sent the letter to Kean and he sidelined Nelson until he could get rid. Simples !

Pemier league glory hunters have no place at ewood, its only for spartans. Glory hunters go shopping, try M&S luxury food range, I believe its on offer. We spartans will do all the dirty work whilst you hold our coats and wait for the glory of the PL to return. We don't mind though, if shopping does it for you, then knock yourself out.

Hello new supporter, I'm glad you are trying to pave a way out of shopping. Me and the other 8000 spartans will hold the fort for you whilst you're choosing a new blouse. Ewood will still be in whilst the same can't be said about your new crop top number. Collect as many nectar points as you can, you may be able to redeem them in the club shop when you come back once we are in the premier league again. Might be an idea to send for a new supporters pack so you know where to go on your return. We will be waiting for you to show you around.

i cannot for the life of me understand why you wouldnt want to go to a club that you've probably supported since you were a child.

Everyone on here shares the same opinions, we dont like the current owners, directors or manager and we all support every player who put the shirt one (especially now keith andrews doesnt play for us).

i thought at the start of the season i would go to the games but when im at the stadium watching a game i dont even look over at the dugout.

After spending all that money this summer on wages and transfers i fear that if we dont go up its going to be a long way back and could result in a portsmouth situation.

Obviously saying "go to turf moor" is in jest but ill take that back as i wouldnt wish that on anyone. :-p

i truely believe if the egghead slips up he is gone.

I'm not saying the stay away fans dont have a point, they clearly do and i agree 100% with everything they say however all i want is all of our fans at ewood as one getting behind the players.

The away games atmosphere has been fantastic so far this season - do you not want to be apart of an amazing atmosphere in your stadium.

but also where does it end? when K**n goes or will you not come back until the owners have gone as well?

C'mon you guys, get down ewood and get the lads another 3 points. Why should you let the drunkard clown keep you away from your heritage. He is just this shifts taxi driver, allbeit without a lisence. Don't let the bald crusty keep you away. Get down there for the team.
Don't forget to turn up for the Stevie Kean luvvies sing-song after the game. Main entrance. Don't forget.
Also I have said before, broken service does not count. Its like being in the union. If you stop going, you have to start again from scartch, so you would be a new supporter.
Welcome new guy, now get down ewood with the saprtans and leave the shopping for the wife.
Who's frted?
Hello new supporter, I'm glad you are trying to pave a way out of shopping. Me and the other 8000 spartans will hold the fort for you whilst you're choosing a new blouse. Ewood will still be in whilst the same can't be said about your new crop top number. Collect as many nectar points as you can, you may be able to redeem them in the club shop when you come back once we are in the premier league again. Might be an idea to send for a new supporters pack so you know where to go on your return. We will be waiting for you to show you around.
Diarrhoea. You should take something for that.

This is a good and sensible post rather than insulting anyone who doesn't agree with you.

We all have our own opinion as to the best way forward and we will all handle it in our own different ways

I support the team and always have done but can't let that be seen as supporting Kean and Venkys, who have dragged the good name of Blackburn Rovers through the dirt this last two years.

As for coming back to Ewood, I'll be there the day after they appoint an experienced and competent manager. Do Blackburn Rovers not deserve that?

The disaray in defence says it all.It was obvious to all last season what needed to be done and highlights the fact that Kean is not the man for the job.

Hope to see you at Ewood soon.

I think you are speaking for a majority of Rovers fans with this post TS....On saturday at Bristol after the first few minutes of the game I never even once gave any thought about the charlatan at the side of the pitch who pretends to be our manager. It could have been SAF stood there for all I cared about what was going on 'off' the field. The Rovers team that are on the pitch are the main focus plus the goals and the wins of course. "when im at the stadium watching a game i dont even look over at the dugout"

What a couple of pundits.

So where will you be looking when we inevitably start scoring less or the same as the opposition? Maybe you could blame it on the ex-supporters who decided to stay away because they'd already seen 2 previous seasons of it and predicted what would happen. Or mayb you could convince yourself that the Premiershp isn't that big a deal and your glad that we're still in the Championship. Not to worry, you can always remember the spiffin time that you had Asston Grate.

Not to worry. Enough happy-clapping and we will be back in Europe in no time. Singing "Rovers Ra Ra Ra".

Don't forget to turn up for the Kean love-in after the game. Main entrance.

Not until he's history. Even if we're back in the Prem next year I won't step foot in Ewood if the twonk is still in charge.
Then go to turf moor.

We've heard all this before.

If you let let a few people stop you supporting your club then you cannot be a true supporting and it doesn't matter if you have been a season ticket holder for 40 years blah blah.
Why would I go to Turf Moor you idiot ? This situaton will continue as long as you and the rest of the sheep put principles to one side and keep the idiot in charge. If the attendance does not improve even with the team top of the league them even these owners will have mke a change ..... it's not rocket science.
And actually SimpleSimon, you don't know anyting about me or how long I've been a supporter so if it's ok with you I'll have my own opnion and will voice it as many times as I like. It's called freedom of speech.
According to Simple Simon prat, it doesn't matter how long we have supported Rovers if we don't go now.

A bit of a clever git with a big mouth if you ask me.
you've not really listened to what i or many others have said.

i cannot for the life of me understand why you wouldnt want to go to a club that you've probably supported since you were a child.

Hope to see you at Ewood soon.
haha i'm not meaning to insult - im sure you'll agree its frustration.

thats what worries me. i look around and what managers there are. Mick McCarthy..... i think i'd want to hang myself if he was appointed. im not even sure who is left these days. curbishley isnt exactly exciting. im not even sure who would want to come to the current owners.

K**n does seem to play this mad attacking football and forget about the defence its like school ground football.

They've almost caused a problem for themselves now, under current form its even more impossible to sack him.

I think you are speaking for a majority of Rovers fans with this post TS....On saturday at Bristol after the first few minutes of the game I never even once gave any thought about the charlatan at the side of the pitch who pretends to be our manager. I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of premier league glory posters on here who think we didn't exist before 95, as soon as we won a trophy out popped the shiny new top. All moaning cause there is no shirts sponsor. Oi , do you know we never used to have shirt sponsorship back in the day. I think it looks better without something on the front like TAMPONS, but you saturday shoppers want a brand name on there like kelloggs as you missed the shopping so much. Its okay now though, as there is no premier league glory to have now you can drown yourself in brand name browsing. Oh look a kingsize packet of DAZ that should get my whites whiter. HOBNOBS collect the tokens and get a free hobnob hot water bottle. Keep an eye out for the blue cross bargain.
Enjoy

I wouldn't worry too much about this pllck. It seems to have some delusion that it is some kind of Spartan. The only thing that it is in self-denial about, like the rest of the Kean-luvvies and apologists, is that the team is progressing anywhere with the chief moron in charge, and that anybody that disagrees with it is a "glory-hunter".

It can't be taken seriously, as the other week it was describing disadvantaged people as "mongs": I would say that there are some parallels with the infanticide practiced by the Spartans here. Similarly its apparent misogeny with regard to shopping could be explained by this fascination with Sparta..........or it could be repressed Transvetitism,......
...or lesbianism. Whatever it is, it certainly knows a lot more about shopping than I do. Maybe I should do even more boning up on it with the wife.

Cue "comedy" that is about as funny as a dogsht-inundated flip-flop.

GAEL Givet and Markus Olsson are the two good players with good form is going out means little tight. But we have equal player to replace. I feel this time two new players get a chance to show case there talant in the home ground and they get the confidence too. So I will consider Henrique and Diogo Rosado to play in this seneario.

So My team :
Robbo, JasonLowe,Dann,Henri
que,M.Ollson,
DiogoRosado,Murphy,E
tuhu,Pedersen, Rhodes and Kazim.

Sub : Kean,Hanley,David Dunn,Gomes,Rochina,P

All the best and Good luck, After the first goal don't go deep. this championship we need goal difference, that is the key to stay in TOP also.

Moan, moan, moan.

If Kolo Toure fancies a game then fair enough, but until then cheer up - We are top of the league, we are top of the league!”

Only top of the league because of the strikers, if it wasn't for them where might Rovers be? the defence is useless Kean may have just cottoned on to it but he probably can't do much with them now as he's a useless manager.
davemal not to be rude but thats what attackers are ment to do is score goals why cant u be happy there top of the league instead of saying if's and buts its irrelevant the fact is we are top of the league

Whilst I recognise that results are going our way at the moment in the long term we still need to get rid of Kean. So! Could I plead with all those boycotters thinking of going to tonight's and Friday's match to think again. I feel that the Venky's will be seriously considering Kean's future if attendances don't improve during this period of good results. Let us show the Venky's that whatever the results we are not returning until Kean goes.

Good luck to the team tonight and Friday get into 'em!
[p][bold]Reg Rover[/bold] wrote: ROVERS EYEING CARRACHER Sources close to Ewood Park suggest that the Rovers are looking closely at Liverpool’s Jamie Carracher (pic above) as a possible successor to Steve Kean to take the Ewood hot seat. Reg. Footnote: Will Jason Rhodes save Kean? Probably, this lad could prove to be the next Alan Shearer. www.regoftherovers.c o.uk[/p]
Jason Rhodes, is that Jordan's brother ? Rovers 1495

Steve Kean is the best manager of the month, He and his Fans like this publicity - simple as that.

Rovers players and staff are doing good, - we are on the top of the table.

3000 miles is nothing, but Kean is very popular, he is best in all ACT.

Are boycotters supporters? I get confused as I thought supporters or fans supported their team through thick and thin irrespective of who is the manager or the physio or club doctor or even owners who incidently have spent more than any other championship side this year to rectify their inexperience of last season.
Please put your hatred of Kean to one side and help us get the lads back in the Premiership which will be difficult enough without the full backing of all our fans and the people who have stopped being fans to become boycotters.

A few people are missing the point I think. The overall quality of the back four is not as good as it could have been given the amount of money spent on the forwards and midfield, which is still well shy of the amount of money taken for the players that have left. So in that respect there is a problem!
name a better championship defence?

we're not in the premier league anymore.

Blackpool, Brighton, Hull, Cardiff, Forrest. Etc.Etc. Etc I could go on.This is getting boring.
Yet again, it doesn't matter what teams have a better back four. The point is that ours is not as good as it could've been given the funds made available. Even Keanocchio has just realised that.

Hope you have a great night, give us a break down of a good win (hopefully) asap afterwards.

As for me I will carry on going my way, not asking anyone else to follow my example, just me doing what I thinks right.

What do we have in common then?

We are BOTH fans of BRFC and no one is right or wrong with what's going on we are just doing what one another thinks is doing right end off.

Once Keans sacked all fans can reunite back at Ewood but NOT before.

Just to clarify I am a boycotter, or as I prefer "on strike": i.e. I am witholding my support as, from experience, I am acutely aware of the futility of providing that support for as long as Kean is the "manager". I am not at all worried that witholding that support will result in relegation. With the squad that Kean has had delivered to him my granny could keep us in this division, and she's been dead for a couple of years.

If those that go are enjoying the few pyhrric victories that Kean will scratch together despite conceding three goals on a regular basis, I envy your myopia. Be absolutely certain however that Steve Kean WILL NOT get this club promoted.

If after 37 years that means I am no longer a supporter then f. you, f. Kean, f. Venkys and the ship they rolled up in.

IiF the numbers are ever increasing, why are you pleading on here for support? I haven't seen any evidence of fans returning to home games. I do though see evidence that the boycotting is having some effect by the attemps from the club to sell tickets and from other fans like you who obviously feel your support alone is not enough. Surely if you have made a decision to go and the tam are top you shouldn't be bothered about anybody else?

Are you getting confused about the difference between a supporter and a fan. In my book a "supporter" shows his appreciation by supporting the team in every way i.e. financially, verbally and in spirit. The "Fan" is a "devotee of a specified amusement" and still a follower of the team but not financially. I class myself as the latter and still proud to call myself a FAN!!!!!

Kean is hated en mass, will NEVER be accepted by the vast, vast, vast majority of fans and is nothing but sly and incompetent.

Kean is the exact opposite of 'very popular' and I have no idea what ACT is, but I'm pretty sure he's not the best at it.
Unless it stands for the Alcoholic Clown Trust, in which case, he probably does have a shout in all fairness.
