Rovers warned off Rhodes

BLACKBURN Rovers look ready to give up on their chase for Jordan Rhodes after being given a "hands off warning" this evening.

Rovers have had an improved bid rejected for the Huddersfield Town striker and have been told the striker is not for sale.

Rovers are unlikely to continue their efforts to sign the Scot and will look elsewhere, with Manchester City striker John Guidetti on their radar.

After reading Keans appraisal of Rhodes and all the clubs running after his signature, we may just be lucky enough to get another Goodwillie.
Can't wait to see that partnership kick off.
The rest of the championship must be really worried

It's hard not to be cynical about the proven liars running BRFC at the moment. I wonder if Andy Cryer gets fed a load of nonsense by the club? Did we really offer £5m+ for Rhodes? If so, did BRFC really think H'field would sell at that price? I bet the Venkers are delighted it got turned down. Expect a loan signing very soon, or a freebie.

Horse shiiiite anyway, what a farce. So we bid 2 mil plus add ons to total 4 mil then today we report 5 mil plus add ons and a sell on %. Sorry LET but the stories don't hold water. Fulham bid 2 mil, I can assure everyone that we did not bid 5 mil plus all the trimmings as reported.
Also, why no mention of Sunderland's bid to take Guidetti? If he's our next target then he could be as good as gone already.

Thanks for your clear assumptions re the bidding for Rhodes - source?

Re Guidetti, if you can believe reports, he is not going to Sunderland because of some sort of illness. On a reported season long loan, a short term illness, if this is the case, should not be a problem, but could a permanent transfer to another club suddenly clear up the mystery illness??

Maybe/maybe not

So, the end to what has been a very clumsy and amateurish courtship, sprinkled with lies about Rhodes wanting to join. Huddersfield have valued Rhodes at 6 million for at least six months. The offer of two million was always going to be rejected. All we've done is alerted the football world to how the Chuckle Brothers do business at Blackburn. I can't imagine many clubs looking to do business wiht Blackburn in the near future.

Again conman Kean comes out of this (and the club, may I add...) saga with egg on face....not that we expected it to end any other way !!!
Is this going to result in another freebie mid-field player from Portugal !
....and there is still the likelihood of a defender or two leaving before the season begins.
We may hit the ground running, yet I have this sickly feeling it will lack any sign of a well structured team with a fitness level needed at this level.
(I am thinking v Wolves 12 months ago...)

Cannot imagine conman Kean himself having much idea of the starting X1 and again are very late in the transfer market looking (just like last season..) for last minute bargains & freebie,s.

The Championship league is very physical as we know and well require the ability to combat that threat and the experience to deal with this style of play.
Has the friendlies and build up and signings to date leading up to this season given anyone confidence ?!?

Does not matter how old a Rovers fan you are - have you ever felt less enthusiasm for the start of a football season? I can't recall ever having such liitle interest other than hoping we have a bad start and Kean gets sacked and then this club can start to rebuild again.
.
Because ONE FACT that is not in doubt is this Mr Shabby - THIS CLUB WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD AGAIN UNTIL KEAN IS GONE.
.
I don't even care if we have a good start in a league we should normally have walked anyway - because that will only put back even further the change needed.

Same bulls**t, same lies from the Venky's publicity machine along with the circus they call a management team and the LET prints it. You should be reporting the truth and not the propaganda cr*p they want to print. Do some proper journalistic digging and then print the truth. Rhodes has probably never mentioned that he wanted to come to Ewood, why would he leave a side that has a relatively stable and good management team to join our very own BRFC Circus complete with clowns. If Keans words earlier this week were correct then we now have our side for next season, which leaves us with lots of inexperience, kids and freebies to get us out of the championship. Not a bl**dy chance there is only one way and that is down with this shower of s**t in charge.

J.C - Rishton says...

This Rhodes transfer saga smacks to me of similarities of the Papis Cisse transfer to Rovers last summer.

Everyone knew Cisse had a buy out clause at Friborg of 15m euro's yet Rovers offer 5m then walk away when its been refused but make everything public and get loads of positive press - eg "look at us, in for great players, arn't we great owners".

Same has happened with Rhodes - he's valued by Huddersfield at £6m and Rovers offer £2m ?? - then they make an "improved" offer but really most of this "improvement" is just really in add-ons and preformance based - ie, "Jam tomorrow" rather than "cash today" - and at the same time, Rovers splash these offers all over the press (to the annoyance of Huddersfield) to impress the guilible (yes there are still some Rovers fans who, despite all that has happened over the last 18 months can still be taken in by the smallest of "positive stories" - usually claiming this is a sign that Venkys have "learnt from their mistakes" etc etc.

Until Venkys come clean over whats happened over the last 18 months, kick out Kean, his agent and Agnew and co-operate with the authorities then Rovers will never be back on the right track, both on or off the pitch.

They have a perfect chance to do so this morning with SS meeting but don't hold your breath, I expect us "great unwashed" to be fed a 2 hour diatribe of spin, lies and hot air.

J.C - Rishton

He has already been told that he will be offered that kind of money if he wants to stay. So what other incentive is there for him to leave a prosperous club on the up and go to the Rovers train wreck?

It just shows Kean for the 'man' that he really is. Rhodes is OK, but he's no RVP ... so here we are, getting all excited thinking this prolific goalscorer is going to come running to us because we are the place to be ... but it ain't true. Nobody in his right mind is going to want to come here and work for Rod Hull (or is it Emu). Anyway, anyone with an ounce of talent surely thinks twice about coming to join this circus. The only people we can sign are no-marks who wouldn't be employed elsewhere.

Next thing they'll be saying is that RVP has been sounded out with regards to joining the Ewood Park Circus. Run by clowns managed by a clown. It has become a Pathetic, Useless, Shambolic club run by Headless chickens and a drunk to boot. You will have noticed we have had no words of encouragement or otherwise from our glorious Venky Clan, just the usual silence.

Making stuff up ? what are you saying that Kean is not a drunk ? then why is he not allowed to drive ,the reason he is not allowed to drive and Hendry chaffeurs him around is THAT Kean is a convicted drunk driver ,I think that is concrete proof he is a DRUNK ,and HENDRY If he was NOT a SWINDLER and LIAR then why does he not get www.colinhedrylies.c

I think he was referring to Rhodes not wanting to come solely because of Kean and Hendry's "dark side".

By the way, getting pulled for drinking over the limit does not automatically qualify someone as an alcholic, as you calling him "a drunk" implies.

He clearly likes the odd jar or three, who doesn't?, so irresponsible or just plain stupid maybe more appropriate.

There is plenty of ammunition to get rid of this incompetant buffoon without having to bring in Alcos Anon.
