Rovers not given up on Rhodes chase

BLACKBURN Rovers have not yet given up on a deal for Jordan Rhodes – with the Huddersfield Town striker understood to be open to a move to Ewood Park.
Huddersfield turned down an offer for the 22-year-old earlier this week but the Lancashire Telegraph understands that Rhodes is tempted by the interest from Rovers.
The Yorkshire side were said to be upset after Steve Kean publicly confirmed that a bid had been made for the highly-rated forward but news of Rovers’ interest is said to have alerted Rhodes.
Kean is looking to bolster his strike force after Leon Best sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury in the recent friendly against AEK Athens.
He is close to completing a deal for Galatasaray’s Colin Kazim-Richards, the London-born forward played for Bury, Brighton and Sheffield United before moving to Turkey in 2007.
Galatasaray have given the go-ahead for a loan switch and Kazim-Richards is now set for talks with Rovers’ global advisor Shebby Singh.
The 25-year-old Turkish international, who can also play on the right wing, featured in Rovers’ behind closed doors friendly against NEC Nijmegen on Sunday and could even be present when the club hold an open training session at Ewood Park at 11am today as part of their family fun day.
Rovers are also considering a move for Josh McEachran after being told that the Chelsea midfielder is available on loan, following a temporary spell with Swansea in the second half of last season.
Kean and Singh would have been more tempted by the possibility, though, before agreeing deals for fellow midfielders Danny Murphy, Dickson Etuhu and Diogo Rosado – with the latter due to finalise his move to Rovers imminently.
A striker is now Rovers’ main priority and they have made Rhodes their number one target.
They are standing firm in their insistence that they will not improve on the bid that was rejected by Huddersfield, while the Terriers are adamant they will not sell at the price offered.
But news that Rhodes could be interested in a move will give Rovers hope that a transfer could yet happen, with any chance of a deal looking likely to depend on how determined the Scotland under 21 international is to move to Ewood.
Premier League side Fulham have been among the other clubs said to be interested in Rhodes, who netted 40 times during Huddersfield’s promotion campaign in League One last season.

i guess if an offer comes in for pedersen, then we'll have a look at it and if it's enough he will be on his bike. again, i think we have bought cover for him.
the others are a different matter, and i think will be treated differently by the club. neither appears to have done an 'nzonzi' as of yet and stated that they will not want to play whatever, so i reckon they'll be considered as staying unless a massive offer comes in. they both look like they could well go, but my feeling is that we won't buy until there is a deal on the table for them.

Basically the clues in the word, supporters should support the team. If you don't like Kean keep it to yourselves, abuse is detrimental to results, he will leave eventually if he doesn't get it right. Stop crippling a perfectly fine football club. I think people just enjoy manufacturing problems that really aren't there.

B) kean will be on his bike? 2 seasons of utter failure followed by relegation, the biggest indication of failure. Kean could relegate us once again and will not be moved from his post. I think this fact was pretty self evident to any Rovers fan around december 2011.
What pride is left in a club that has been raped beyond repair. The money already lost from tv deals and relegation would have sealed keans fate by any business owner with a vested interest in the company.
Bearing in mind that we now are receiving paracute payments and ALL the quality in the side has been sold in the last 2 years you would think we might be able to afford more than a circa 5mil spend this window. Any brfc fan can see Venkys are purposefully drowning this donkey. If you want to keep spending your money and clapping with a blindfold on as you baby is molested, thats your perogative, just keep your poison to yourself.
