Singh: There will be no panic buy signings at Blackburn Rovers (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Surely as a 'star' defender for the Malaysian national team and having watched Rovers on Asian telly he should realise we need some defenders to bolster if not replace what we already have. Still haven't listened to his Radio Lancs interview as I like my computer and it could possibly be in bits before the end.

Rhodes would be a good signing, but only for anything under £5m.

And either way, with Kean still playing as 'manager' of the club, it's irrespective of who we have in the squad, as he'll find a way to make us as unorganised and tactically retarded as possible.

I don't know what you expected him to say?

A new season starts, he cant comment on what happened before him, but everyone's on trial and produce or get out.

No matter what he says at this moment - actions will surely speak louder than any words, so he could continue to do what he's doing or stay mum and let his actions speak for themselves. We will know come mid-season if we're down at the bottom of the table and he's still spouting positive like baldy, but at the moment, they are just words and you cant really expect much else.

At the end of the day he is just an "advisor" not the decider. He had to give everyone a fair chance as an outsider coming into the job, it would have been unrealistic to expect him to recommend Kean's dismissal to Venkys given that they admitted themselves they were apportion to the blame of the mistakes last season. That said, I think Venkys will take his advice very seriously and seeing that he's already made it clear about Kean prior to taking the job, if the results point the finger at Kean, Shebby would be expected to make no bones about where the blame lies.

Agree with what Shebby is saying tbh, the only issue I take with it is that a panic buy was the big positive last season! Imagine if Kean had got who he wanted - Beckford - and not pannicked by buying Yakubu!

Yeah, made loads of difference signing Yak, we would have been bottom instead of second bottom if we'd not snapped him up. Maybe Coco needs to panic buy a defender or two.

Hello Mr H -The South Korean from Arsenal is Park Chu-Young. A striker with a decent scoring record for his country and scored 25 goals in 91 league one appearances in 3 seasons at Monaco.

Arsenal signed him last season and hardly used him, he got just one game I think. Looking at Arsenal blogs it seems that it totally baffled the Gooner fans as why Wenger didn't play him more?

He has played in two World Cups and he is in the current South Korean Olympic team and has already scored one goal v Switzerland and he is playing in the quarter final v Gabon at 5pm today. Worth having a look at a possible new Rover....need to be moving quicker though despite Corporal Shebby Jones call for no panic...

Haha Darener, Bigdel, he still scored goals. Ewood was horrible enough last season, at least he gave us the odd moment to cheer about!

Interest in Park as already been called off. The management don't feel that he can lead the line. As for Vaughan, I'd give him a wide berth. We've already signed one striker with a poor injury record this season and we've already lost him. Instead of hedging our bets on whether not a player has put their injury nightmare behind them, or looking at bench warmers, perhaps we should look at strikers who had a couple of seasons playing consistently in the first team of their respective clubs. As for needing two strikers, I think we only need one as I'm certain Rochina would be an excellent front man, he has all the right attributes.

With regards to defenders, Tal Ben Haim could be available for very little money, if any. Struggled to hold down a starting berth at Chelsea and City but was one of the few stand-out payers at Portsmouth last season. They need all the help they can get and we'd have a decent Championship player.

Not sure if this is down to Kean's arrogance or the owners' advisors' lack of footballing nous. Either way you look at it, a respected man in English football is ignored yet the owners are happy to take football advice from one of their Brazilian Chicken Farm managers, or whatever his non-footballing job is. Still, nothing we can do about it now, will just have to wait for things to implode ever further before any changes are forthcoming.

With regards to the new squad numbers, I know the days of 1-11 are long gone, and some players can be very superstitious about their's, but I can't help but read something into some of the changes. Despite Kean saying the young Portuguese lads are for the future I get the impression that they'll feature quite regularly this season. Awarding Nunes the #7 shirt tells me that he'll be Hoilett's replacement come the start of the season. Vukcevic going from #29 to #33 doesn't look good though, especially when Petrovic has been awarded the #11 shirt.

I'm probably just being cynical - understandable on reflection - but I think Vukcevic may be frozen out again, in favour of the kids, and packed off in January. I hope not though as he's one of the better players in the squad. Also, with the urgency to find two strikers, despite the owners already dragging their heels when looking for just one, I really can't see another defender arriving. If any of the central defenders are sold then we'll have to replace them but I fear we may not leave ourselves enough time to find an adequate replacement.

If we sign a central defender and two strikers before the transfer window slams shut I'll quite happily admit that I was wrong.

Rovers squad numbers should start at 12 leaving room for when we buy some proper footballers.

I am surprised they have sold 8400 if the figure is accurate. I thought they would only sell a few thousand.

Hello Mr H -The South Korean from Arsenal is Park Chu-Young. A striker with a decent scoring record for his country and scored 25 goals in 91 league one appearances in 3 seasons at Monaco.

Arsenal signed him last season and hardly used him, he got just one game I think. Looking at Arsenal blogs it seems that it totally baffled the Gooner fans as why Wenger didn't play him more?

He has played in two World Cups and he is in the current South Korean Olympic team and has already scored one goal v Switzerland and he is playing in the quarter final v Gabon at 5pm today. Worth having a look at a possible new Rover....need to be moving quicker though despite Corporal Shebby Jones call for no panic...

Interest in Park as already been called off. The management don't feel that he can lead the line. As for Vaughan, I'd give him a wide berth. We've already signed one striker with a poor injury record this season and we've already lost him. Instead of hedging our bets on whether not a player has put their injury nightmare behind them, or looking at bench warmers, perhaps we should look at strikers who had a couple of seasons playing consistently in the first team of their respective clubs. As for needing two strikers, I think we only need one as I'm certain Rochina would be an excellent front man, he has all the right attributes.

With regards to defenders, Tal Ben Haim could be available for very little money, if any. Struggled to hold down a starting berth at Chelsea and City but was one of the few stand-out payers at Portsmouth last season. They need all the help they can get and we'd have a decent Championship player.

Good call on Taliban I am, he is wasted where he is, maybe we could push out all the stops and take a big punt on Rhodes, but as Rovers don't like parting with money, I won't hold my breath.

Have a read of this, a shocking indictment of the incompetence that rules the park these days.

Not sure if this is down to Kean's arrogance or the owners' advisors' lack of footballing nous. Either way you look at it, a respected man in English football is ignored yet the owners are happy to take football advice from one of their Brazilian Chicken Farm managers, or whatever his non-footballing job is. Still, nothing we can do about it now, will just have to wait for things to implode ever further before any changes are forthcoming.

With regards to the new squad numbers, I know the days of 1-11 are long gone, and some players can be very superstitious about their's, but I can't help but read something into some of the changes. Despite Kean saying the young Portuguese lads are for the future I get the impression that they'll feature quite regularly this season. Awarding Nunes the #7 shirt tells me that he'll be Hoilett's replacement come the start of the season. Vukcevic going from #29 to #33 doesn't look good though, especially when Petrovic has been awarded the #11 shirt.

I'm probably just being cynical - understandable on reflection - but I think Vukcevic may be frozen out again, in favour of the kids, and packed off in January. I hope not though as he's one of the better players in the squad. Also, with the urgency to find two strikers, despite the owners already dragging their heels when looking for just one, I really can't see another defender arriving. If any of the central defenders are sold then we'll have to replace them but I fear we may not leave ourselves enough time to find an adequate replacement.

If we sign a central defender and two strikers before the transfer window slams shut I'll quite happily admit that I was wrong.

Shonkys record regarding defenders is great, you sell them out of the window and put a centre mid in there, So Givet and dann to go and Murphy and Pedersen playing centre back with the usual, they looked good in training garbage. It shows how far we have fallen when you think we could do with Jason Roberts back as it would improve us.

Rather than freeze players out for no apparent reason except trying to save money, they really should play the best side available every week. If they had done last season they could well be playing Premier League football this season. The fact is that Blackburn Rovers are run by utterly untrustworthy individuals and the club has no relation to the club which was under the custodianship of the likes of Lawrence Cotton, Norman Forbes, Bill Fox, David Brown, Jack Walker and John Williams.

I do believe Kean should be sent for re training. I have heard there is a state of the Art training centre in Siberia and the railway line ends there so he wont have any problem getting there.

With the exception of Pederson, they are only fringe players, and to be fair, Blackman and Lunganzi were not even that.

Surprised though, or perhaps not with Venkys, but I thought Slew was one for the future. Out on loan last season and twelve months from joining the club released. Cost a few bob which will probably not be seen again.

Totally correct however, I cannot see the 'history' part happening...It seems that the sacking of Kean is the total answer to most Rovers Fans...Certainly, he should have gone many months ago however, the underlying massive PROBLEM are the VENKY'S..Nothing positive can happen while they are in control..They are destroying the club.....

More cutting of the wage bill. What kind of team are they going to be able to put out ? I'm glad I didn't' invest' in a season ticket. It was bad enough last season but it looks like pub standard football this year.

Hi Flying, totaly agree, these fringe players need to go but surely the Venkys must be thinking most if these fringe players who are being sold and those that sat on the bench for most of last season are Keans signings, again a p!ss poor record, so I can't see them trusting Kean with there millions can you?

It goes back to that old potato, does Kean have any kind of investment in BRFC and should this not be highlighted in there books?

Yeah thats a good suggestions and I believe Malaysian ace Titus James Palani playing in France would be ideal choice. If you and kean are so much interested in players like Chamakh,Kazim,Amien Lingzani, Rhodes and Hoilett why not Titus James. My comments are written not with ill intentions of race, you miscontrue the context of my statements entirely in a wrong manner. I am trying to be fair here to the Venkys,Titus James Palani and shebby with all the harsh comments aimed at the them. Why dont you take a look at other club owners and managers making blunders to make the club go downward spiral ??? Do you know Cardiff owners changed the traditional team jersey and the symbol but the fans took it easy and accepted the owners reasons. No owners would let their club go bonkers after investing huge amount of money, only stupid fools would. The Venkys are trying to find a solution by bringing in Shebby singh and lift the club to its glory days but you and your friends so called fans keep on harping condemnation at the management endlessly.
