UPDATE: Murphy to sign for Blackburn Rovers
2:00pm Saturday 23rd June 2012 in Football
By Andy Cryer, Blackburn Rovers reporter
Danny Murphy
DANNY Murphy is expected to complete his move to Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.
As exclusively revealed in the Lancashire Telegraph this morning, Murphy underwent a medical last night and after having scans and agreeing personal terms he is now set to put pen to paper on a deal at the club.
The 35-year-old midfielder moves to Ewood Park following the end of his contract at Fulham.
The free transfer capture of Murphy would be a big coup for the Championship new boys as they look to earn an instant Premier League return.
Murphy did attract interest from Premier League Queens Park Rangers, while Fulham were also attempting to convince the former Liverpool man to stay at Craven Cottage for another season.
But the offer of a two-year deal and lucrative pay packet may have convinced Murphy that Ewood is the right place for him.
Murphy’s signature would give Rovers a boost in their bid to persuade other players there is a brighter future at the troubled East Lancashire outfit.
Newcastle striker Leon Best is understood to be mulling over a £2m move to Rovers after being told he had no future at St James Park.
Moves for Murphy and Best are the clearest sign that Anuradha Desai is giving under-fire boss Steve Kean a decent budget to strengthen his squad.
Rovers are also looking to bring in a Premier League midfielder on loan to provide extra energy in the centre of the park.
Junior Hoilett and Yakubu are still expected to quit Ewood this summer, while Steven Nzonzi, Martin Olsson, Mauro Formica, Gael Givet, Paul Robinson and Scott Dann will take some convincing to stay.
Murphy, who won nine full England caps, was born in Chester and started out as a trainee at Crewe Alexandra.
Many top flight clubs had their eye on Murphy before his eventual move to Liverpool.
Before he left, he helped Crewe get to the second flight of English football for the first time since the war as Crewe finished third in Division Two, before going on to defeat Brentford 1-0 at Wembley in the play-offs.
After seven years at Anfield Murphy moved to then-top flight Charlton Athletic before heading to Tottenham Hotspur and then across London to Craven Cottage in 2007.

A "coup for Rovers ??"
.
No doubt he is a talented player BUT he is 35 years old, injury prone, not very mobile and I doubt he and Dunn can play in the same team (they are too similar types of player).
.
Where is the logic of firing off experienced older players on big wages (Nelson, Salgado, Roberts etc) just to replace them with, err, old experienced players on big wages ??
.
Also Best will be a VERY GOOD signing but don't get carried away.
.
The lunes from pune know that we will have a FULL team to replace -
Hoilett
Nzonzi
Yak
Dann
Robinson
Givet
Formica
will ALL definately leave
.
And -
Vukevic
Hanley
Rochina
may also depart (I'm sure they all would if they could).
So a huge rebuilding job to be done.

As for Venkys having put money into Rovers - are you JA in disguise ?? - the club has a £20m relegation black hole to fill (how naive are some Rovers fans ??).
.
As for Neslon "struggling to find a club" - shows you know nothing about football - he signed for QPR on Monday and will be playing in a higher division than us.
.
You obviously are either a Venky appologist or know nothing about what is happening down at Ewood - the vast majority of senior pros HATE Kean (Robinson, Givet Nzonzi, Rochina especially) - so why would they want to stay at Rovers in the championship when they could all play in a higher division, possibly on more money ??
.
As for Scott Dann - Rovers have been tryig to off-load him since last Dec (they were talking to AV in Jan) trying to get them to have him as they can't really afford the repayments on him and have realised that actually, he's crap anyway !

.
Hoilett - ditto
.
Robinson - has ALAWAYS stated he will not play in the championship if he can play in the PL.
.
Formica - has got deal with Olympiakos already sorted out and has already expressed his desire to leave.
.
Nzonzi - hates Kean and has had numerous top sides liked with him, inc Arsenal, Spartak Moscow and Brussia Dortmund.
.
Givet - Hates Kean, if he stays at Rovers he'll have a 50% pay cut and many French sides have shown an interest in him - he'll go back to France this summer.
.
DANN - already been linked with move to Soton and like I said previously, if you knew anything about the situation at Ewood you would have already known the club have been trying to sell him on the QT for 6 months.
.
And I missed one off my original list - OLSSON - he has already said that he will NOT play for Rovers next year - end of - or are you going to say he'll be made to stay as well ??

I'm going to say, as unpopular as it might seem, I am glad there at least appears to be a game plan of sorts and new names are starting to appear on the roster, whether we like them or not. Partly because deep down I was concerned that even if we managed to keep the squad together (minus Hoilett of course), we were going to struggle in the Championships. I am starting to get a bit more excited about the new season, with a few more signings we might actually have a competitive squad. As much as I dont care for baldy, I am in interested to see whether
a) he proves he can manage if he isnt restricted, as seemed to be the case.
And
b) If he is as useless as we all believe him to be, how long it takes before Shebby has no choice but to admit he was right the first time round and recommend his dismissal.
One way or another, I think the manager issue will come to a head so it definitely looks like it will be an interesting season at Ewood. But I'm still going to wait till July before renewing methinks and wait for a few more signings.

Whether that's good or bad news for you I'll let you decide but don't forget one of the reasons Burnley were so successful quite recently was because of Graham Alexander in midfield and he was 38/39 at the time. He pulled a lot of the strings and scored regularly too. Might be a good signing.

Well well have our owners finally realized how to run a footballing business..?
That’s a wise financial move by Blackburn, because if they do manage to get straight back up to the Premier League, they will have enough money to pay out the bonuses, and if they don’t get back first time, they will have no no bonuses to pay out.

I am not blown away by him signing but if more decent signings come in it is time to get behind the Rovers - not Venky's, not Kean, but behind our club. All these constant whingers are boring , repetitive and do fcuk all good.
*
Fot those who don't turn up to watch - fair does - but for those individuals who don't keep an eye on Rovers results during the season - in my book you were obviously never much of a Rover anyway.

Odious One is not the one signing the players, his he ? Or does he identify the target then Singh does the deals ?
His managerial expertise will be well and truly tested come August, and again he will be found out to be wanting just as he was season last.
Woeful.
Really concerned that the bumper pay packet accorded to Murphy is a total contradiction to that of the previous ousted players. Just doesn't make sense ?
Good luck to Murphy in his stint at Ewood. Would love to have seen him play in a B&W shirt, but, alas it won't be until they rid us of the imposter.
Shame.

Really? A free and a £2M potential signing amount to "a decent budget?" Do you imagine the Venkys have a budget in mind for the fire-sale of players that most fans fear will take place this summer? Do you have an opinion on which budget will be bigger? The one called "money out" or the one called "money in."
Our last transfer activity was to sell Chris (he isn't going anywhere)Samba for £12M - where is that cash....oh, yes. Barclays Bank took it for that debt that the Venkys denied even existed.
Andy, isn't it time to be a lot less of an apologist for these owners? They have taken way more money that they have spent on players, and until they reverse that, they should not expect any respect at all!

As for contacts within the club, you obvously have non where I have shown time and time again on these postings over the last 18 months that I have excellent contacts - the SD to AV link and that Rovers were actively trying to off load him was an open secret within the club for months and is not even a point of dispute to anyone with anykind of contacts at the club.
.
Also, you state that because they give a good wage to Murphy then this is a sign that Venky scum will spend - NO IT ISNT - think of how many big wage packets they will soon be saving - Robinson (won't be replaced), Yak, Hoilett, Nzonzi etc - all big wage earners who WILL all leave - therefore you can sign 2 or 3 on decent wages to replace them and still masively reduce your wage bill - this is what Venkys intend to do, Shabby Sheik said as much only yesterday - he said we will sign 2 or 3 experienced players and the rest will be replaced by youth team players already at the club -if you don't beleive me then go back and read what he said.
.
Please don't be so naive, try and see the bigger picture - its not being "negative", its called "realism" - these people are destroying our club, day by day, brick by brick.

At least Murphy is a footballer - he can think and pass and lets the ball do the work. So at 35, he can still kick a ball rather than try to snail past somebody like Dunn and Pedersen.

I am not blown away by him signing but if more decent signings come in it is time to get behind the Rovers - not Venky's, not Kean, but behind our club. All these constant whingers are boring , repetitive and do fcuk all good.

Fot those who don't turn up to watch - fair does - but for those individuals who don't keep an eye on Rovers results during the season - in my book you were obviously never much of a Rover anyway.

What a shambles.
I'm sure the cost of hiring him and Murphy will be amply be covered by the sale of Robbo, Olly, N'Dosi, Dann, Rochina, Formica etc.
Murphy, always a decent player, is cashing in one last paycheque and relocating to his native North West.
Does anyone know if his contract includes a reduction in pay when we go down to the First ?

i would have been happy to see us sign murphy if we were in the prem. we are paying decent wages by all accounts and they are focused on the player contributing to a successful season too, which hints at ambition. to claim that we will only pay these because of a future pot of cash from player sales is hugely flawed. of course some of these players may leave, but some people on here seem to believe they know exactly who and for exactly how much. and the claims that players will leave because they hate kean are sadly lacking in fact, moderation and undrstanding of reality.
we have signed someone. a player that is not startling, but certainly good enough to contribute to our efforts in the coming year. we have not lost anyone yet who is not contractually allowed to go. so please let us have a moment of enjoyment in what has been the gloomiest of times.

Few clubs make really money, Venky's do have the money, whether they have or choose to spend it is a another unanswered question in itself, but insulting anyone who just wants to follow the club without getting into its politics in favour of outing irregularities that could bring heavy penalties on the club that could ultimately bring administration and its demise just tells me that maybe the people I stand next to next season are the kind of true supporters I would want to be stood with and maybe we're better off without them.

Excellent signing ??
.
So a huge rebuilding job to be done.
.
Over opinionated know it all clown.

at what point do some of you on here feel it would be ok for people tpo start sounding positive? yes, we are all well aware that the venky reign has been poor and we more than likely have a sub standard manager. however, this article is about a signing and i for one am happy to see a player like muprhy arrive. do i see it as confirmation that things have changed for the better - no. but on the other hand i don't see the point of saying it can't be viewed as exciting news because venky's have so much ground to make up. it is a positive step so surely, given what we've had to put up with for so long, we can be allowed to express some happiness without being hounded for being 'venky apologists'. for goodness' sake get some perspective.
i would have been happy to see us sign murphy if we were in the prem. we are paying decent wages by all accounts and they are focused on the player contributing to a successful season too, which hints at ambition. to claim that we will only pay these because of a future pot of cash from player sales is hugely flawed. of course some of these players may leave, but some people on here seem to believe they know exactly who and for exactly how much. and the claims that players will leave because they hate kean are sadly lacking in fact, moderation and undrstanding of reality.

Wow are we back in the big time now - signing a 35 year old has been (good player in his day) who slagged our club off to the entire country - is he going to apologise for those slanderous comments he made about us ??
.
Have we fallen so low under Venkys and Kean that the signing of a 35 year old on a freebie is to be met by street parties and flag waving by some Rovers fans.
.
Next you'll be telling us all that this signing justifies you going to renew your season ticket - or have you already bought yours ??
.
Don't forget that for every Murphy and Best these asset strippers sign they are going to sell at least 2 decent players (ie 4 signings in and 8 senior first teamers out).
.
Thats not "rebuilding a team" thats "asset stripping" - they have done it in the previous 2 transfer windows they've been in charge and they will do it in this one (some people have very short memories).
.
The only thing these "criminals" have learned is to make the signings FIRST (so the happy clappy brigade can pretend everying is about to turn around) and then sell the cream of our squad later in the transfer window.
.
Wake up - try looking at the WHOLE PICTURE, not just the little bit that makes you pretend that everything is going to be okay under Mrs D and SK - IT ISNT !!

at what point do some of you on here feel it would be ok for people tpo start sounding positive? yes, we are all well aware that the venky reign has been poor and we more than likely have a sub standard manager. however, this article is about a signing and i for one am happy to see a player like muprhy arrive. do i see it as confirmation that things have changed for the better - no. but on the other hand i don't see the point of saying it can't be viewed as exciting news because venky's have so much ground to make up. it is a positive step so surely, given what we've had to put up with for so long, we can be allowed to express some happiness without being hounded for being 'venky apologists'. for goodness' sake get some perspective.
i would have been happy to see us sign murphy if we were in the prem. we are paying decent wages by all accounts and they are focused on the player contributing to a successful season too, which hints at ambition. to claim that we will only pay these because of a future pot of cash from player sales is hugely flawed. of course some of these players may leave, but some people on here seem to believe they know exactly who and for exactly how much. and the claims that players will leave because they hate kean are sadly lacking in fact, moderation and undrstanding of reality.
we have signed someone. a player that is not startling, but certainly good enough to contribute to our efforts in the coming year. we have not lost anyone yet who is not contractually allowed to go. so please let us have a moment of enjoyment in what has been the gloomiest of times.

they will sign a couple of players at most - hope the fans buy season tickets on the back of it and then have a fire sale of 7 or 8 of the existing team.
The club will continue to decline under Venky's ownership. If they were serious about restoring Rovers to the Premier league the very first thing that should have happened was the removal of Kean and the installing of a proven manager. They haven't done this and that is the clearest signal as to their abilities and desire for the club.
I welcome new signings but the bigger strategic picture needs to be considered by some on this message board.

These lot won't stand in front of you with sashes on saying they are crooks, you have to work it out for yourself, Keep up.
He condemned him last season, hes going to have to pray long and hard hes not forced to do it again this season or else he really will start having to come up with creative reasons why it wasnt Kean's fault... Although Kean IS a master in the arts..

At what point would you start to be positive about any other deceitful, disrespectful, disgraceful group of individuals? Weve had two seasons of shambles and there is no reason to think this wont be a third. You lot are so gullible. Absolute gems for the likes of Venkys
at what point do some of you on here feel it would be ok for people tpo start sounding positive? yes, we are all well aware that the venky reign has been poor and we more than likely have a sub standard manager. however, this article is about a signing and i for one am happy to see a player like muprhy arrive. do i see it as confirmation that things have changed for the better - no. but on the other hand i don't see the point of saying it can't be viewed as exciting news because venky's have so much ground to make up. it is a positive step so surely, given what we've had to put up with for so long, we can be allowed to express some happiness without being hounded for being 'venky apologists'. for goodness' sake get some perspective.
i would have been happy to see us sign murphy if we were in the prem. we are paying decent wages by all accounts and they are focused on the player contributing to a successful season too, which hints at ambition. to claim that we will only pay these because of a future pot of cash from player sales is hugely flawed. of course some of these players may leave, but some people on here seem to believe they know exactly who and for exactly how much. and the claims that players will leave because they hate kean are sadly lacking in fact, moderation and undrstanding of reality.
we have signed someone. a player that is not startling, but certainly good enough to contribute to our efforts in the coming year. we have not lost anyone yet who is not contractually allowed to go. so please let us have a moment of enjoyment in what has been the gloomiest of times.
i don't feel i am forgetting the point that things have been poor. in fact, i stated that in my post. however, i do feel that this is a positive move and i would like to treat it as such, rather than contributing to yet aonther thread's decent into hurlling abuse at each other.
venky's, kean and all have a way to go before anyone feels wrongs have been addressed, but where i differ from most is that i don't view this as being abolute, one way or the other. if things are put right, then all is well in my book. if it ever is proven to have been a deliberate act of disassembly of our club, then i will draw the line, but whilst it appears people are attmepting to make improvments then great, i consider that to be positive news.

I think he is exactly what we need to retain the ball in midfield abd pick out the runners.
35 is very old for a midfielder. But his mate Keanocchio is giving him a 2 year contract?

i am a fan that happens to hold a different position to you on this subject. i am sure there is more in the wide world of footbal that we would agree on than disagree.
however, in the wide world of civility and sommon courtesy, you have done yourself a significant diservice with your post.
i am a fan of my club. i don't believe chosing to stay away until the owner sell up is the way to go, but i would not criticise those who do. these are more extreme times than usual, so i can appreciate some having a more extreme response. but disagreement can be handled in a mature way. calling people scum is not one of them

This is my first and last comment on this subject, I will never give these Asian criminals one penny of my money, we have had 2 season tickets for 40 years and will never set foot on Ewood until there are drastic changes. These drastic changes do not include bringing more Asian yes men on board in place of good proven staff, it is so obvious that Kean is involved in something illegal otherwise he would have been sacked 12 months since. I firmly believe that the truth will eventually come out and there will be a few people jailed as a result. Why isn't some investigative journalist digging into this cesspit, remember the documentry involving Bryan Robson where Asian criminals were looking into buying english football clubs, well this is one.

Excellent signing ??
.
So a huge rebuilding job to be done.
.
Over opinionated know it all clown.
.
Who needs Dingles when when have so much SCUM of our own ??
.
No wonder Venkys and Kean etc chose to buy our club - what other club has so many scum supporters as ours.
.
I wonder why good people like Wayne Wild, Glen and Simon bother to try and save our club from owners who are killing us off when so many of you seem so happy with them as owners ??
they will sign a couple of players at most - hope the fans buy season tickets on the back of it and then have a fire sale of 7 or 8 of the existing team.
Will Simon be doing work at Ewood for Radio Lancs?
Will the legend have to swap his Garner 10 shirt for Garner scum?
Heard Glen say on Talksport that he had got his season ticket early, where that leaves us is anyone's guess.
Will the voice of Rovers, super Robbie Savage, refuse to do Ewood work for Radio 5?
Will Tugay turn up again to do the half-time draw and if he does, what does that make him?
Just a few to be getting on with.

I have read many comments from fans stating their reasons for not renewing their STs, not going to Ewood Park, supporting the protests against Kean and the Venkys. Etc. but I have yet to read the reasons for the fans that have renewed and do intend to go to Ewood to watch the team. Their only comments seem to be I am supporting the team! Unfortunately supporting the team is also giving succour to the Venkys and Kean and now Shabby. Perhaps they could enlighten us as to how they think their actions will lead to the "team" prospering and the club surviving? I appreciate their right to take whatever action they see fit but I would urge them to think again. I most also isolate myself and any other right minded fan from any of the derogatory statements seemingly issued by so called Rovers fans calling them scum. We can expect that sort of statement from a Dingle but not from other Rovers fans. Please desist, we are all in this together.

fitz808 wrote:You are completely forgetting the crucial point. Our club is still owned and being run by incompetent and probably corrupt individuals. They have reduced our club and fans to a circus, embarrassing farce, they have communicated either nothing, trivia or lies, they completely duped the lot of us and are still doing it. At what point would you start to be positive about any other deceitful, disrespectful, disgraceful group of individuals? Signing Big Mouth Danny Murphy in my books does not make these people any more honest, trustworthy or anything else some of you are choosing to believe.

35 is very old for a midfielder. But his mate Keanocchio is giving him a 2 year contract?

they will sign a couple of players at most - hope the fans buy season tickets on the back of it and then have a fire sale of 7 or 8 of the existing team.
Also whilst hes at it he can also explain if the LET, the players who continue to draw wages are all scum for not deserting the ship.

at what point do some of you on here feel it would be ok for people tpo start sounding positive? yes, we are all well aware that the venky reign has been poor and we more than likely have a sub standard manager. however, this article is about a signing and i for one am happy to see a player like muprhy arrive. do i see it as confirmation that things have changed for the better - no. but on the other hand i don't see the point of saying it can't be viewed as exciting news because venky's have so much ground to make up. it is a positive step so surely, given what we've had to put up with for so long, we can be allowed to express some happiness without being hounded for being 'venky apologists'. for goodness' sake get some perspective.
i would have been happy to see us sign murphy if we were in the prem. we are paying decent wages by all accounts and they are focused on the player contributing to a successful season too, which hints at ambition. to claim that we will only pay these because of a future pot of cash from player sales is hugely flawed. of course some of these players may leave, but some people on here seem to believe they know exactly who and for exactly how much. and the claims that players will leave because they hate kean are sadly lacking in fact, moderation and undrstanding of reality.
we have signed someone. a player that is not startling, but certainly good enough to contribute to our efforts in the coming year. we have not lost anyone yet who is not contractually allowed to go. so please let us have a moment of enjoyment in what has been the gloomiest of times.
.

Also you are incorrect in saying "it is an insignificant amount".
.
Rovers turnover last season was about £50m.
.
If there is a 9000 drop in ST renewals, large drop in merchandise purchases and we understand there has been a huge drop off of corperate sponsorship (box renewals etc) - this could lead to Venkys missing out on about £4-5m in lost revenue - hardly a small amount (approx 10% of total turnover from last season, and probably 15% of this seasons total revenue).
.
That it why it is VERY important NOT to give these criminal owners ANY money - the second reason is that it also gives them a clear message - WE WILL NOT ALLOW OUR CLUB TO BE DESTROYED LIKE THIS - every selfish appeaser that gives them (Venkys) their support and money dilutes this message and therefore DAMAGES OUR GREAT CLUB.
.
Please DO NOT be a shelfish, spineless appeaser and renew your ST - be a true fan (I've had a ST for the last 30 seasons) and WITHOLD YOUR MONEY (it won't be forever and you can still support the players in away games).

Over opinionated know it all clown.
.
Who needs Dingles when when have so much SCUM of our own ??
.
No wonder Venkys and Kean etc chose to buy our club - what other club has so many scum supporters as ours.
.
I wonder why good people like Wayne Wild, Glen and Simon bother to try and save our club from owners who are killing us off when so many of you seem so happy with them as owners ??
,
In 137 years our club has NEVER come under such a strong, sustained, attack in its very existance - yet some fans either STILL don't get it or just DON'T CARE (thats why I justify the wording) - they think that its still OK to give money to these CRIMINALS who are out to destroy our club - well it isnt !! (and please don't give me this pathetic "I'm going down to support the boys, not SK or Venkys" arguament cos it just won't wash).
.
Anyone and everyone who buys a ST/Merchandise/corpo
rate sponsership is a VENKY appeaser and is helping to DESTROY something they claim to love.
.
I can guarantee that SK/Venkys will announce that the 6,000 APPEASERS that buy ST this season are therefore agreeing with Venkys policy to "wipe the slate clean" and "agree with keeping SK as manager" - these people are masters of PR.
.
Don't be so SELFISH - Venkys think you are less than NOTHING, we are all excrement on their shoes to them - these people DO NOT deserve to have anything to do with our great club - I'm sure we all can agree with statement so why do some of you out there still appease them with your support ??
Why,when everyone knew what was happening, did they all keep turning up.
Did you keep turning up?
Why is it right to boycott now, just because you say so?
There were 7000 walk up for that game who all bought a ticket more recently than i bought my season ticket,i make that 13000 appeasers.
No doubt some will argue that they only carried on going because their ticket was already paid for.Well, there you go,that's commitment for you.
Now,did you keep going on or not?
Will Wild ,Battersby,Garner,Sa
vage and Tugay be going on next season or not?You seem to know them all.
Where do the 7000 walk up fit in?
Where does Glen fit in?
Were season ticket holders right to keep going last season or not?
It isn't gibberish,as you call it,i'm trying to have a debate, but rather than give answers, you just keep on abusing people.

malcs17 wrote:RUBBISH - Longterm NO business can thrive without the support of its customers (ask any businessman). . Also you are incorrect in saying "it is an insignificant amount". . Rovers turnover last season was about £50m. . If there is a 9000 drop in ST renewals, large drop in merchandise purchases and we understand there has been a huge drop off of corperate sponsorship (box renewals etc) - this could lead to Venkys missing out on about £4-5m in lost revenue - hardly a small amount (approx 10% of total turnover from last season, and probably 15% of this seasons total revenue). . That it why it is VERY important NOT to give these criminal owners ANY money - the second reason is that it also gives them a clear message - WE WILL NOT ALLOW OUR CLUB TO BE DESTROYED LIKE THIS - every selfish appeaser that gives them (Venkys) their support and money dilutes this message and therefore DAMAGES OUR GREAT CLUB. . Please DO NOT be a shelfish, spineless appeaser and renew your ST - be a true fan (I've had a ST for the last 30 seasons) and WITHOLD YOUR MONEY (it won't be forever and you can still support the players in away games).Lestrez wrote: I wish all Rovers Supporters would try and get positive about next season lets put last season behind us, yes Keane is still manager, yes Venky's still own our club but this is not going to change in the near future however many fans stay away. Roll on 18th August I just can't waithate kean, detest venky's, but no matter how much we hate them, not buying season tickets is not the way forward, look at the figures its peanuts, lestrez is right, lets get behind the boys for the start of the season.

A DESPERATE attempt to give the supporters an impression that there is something positive taking place and Kean is being pro-active at last !!
Murphy has had his best days and the thought of Dunn, Petersen & Murphy in mid-field does not excite me in the least.
Lack of pace, hunger, commitement are three words that come to mind PLUS injuries !!!!
Again, it all depends on what player and what quality are sold and what there is left come mid-August.
Bottom line is that Kean & Singh and Venky install NO confidence and point to another fustrating season ahead.
THE BIGGEST AND MOST EMBRASSING JOKE IN THE FOOTBALL WORLD RIGHT NOW.

Yes, kean/Agnew/Venkys have dismantled a great club. We are in a mess, but not everything is a mess. Danny Murphy still knows how to control and pass a ball. The fact he is bald is irrelevant. Excellent signing ??
.
So a huge rebuilding job to be done.
.
As for Venkys having put money into Rovers - are you JA in disguise ?? - the club has a £20m relegation black hole to fill (how naive are some Rovers fans ??).

they will sign a couple of players at most - hope the fans buy season tickets on the back of it and then have a fire sale of 7 or 8 of the existing team.

Iwill add that when I was younger nothing would have stopped me attending it just felt right I can understand fans who have bought season tickets and no way do I class them as traitors they just want to watch their team play I hope we do well and I hope they all enjoy the matches
I hate Kean for the way he has made me feel about match days but if he gets promotion I'll be glad for the fans.
So lets stop slagging fellow fans off the fact that it seems easy to set fan against fan is one reason that demos have been a failure because the fans were never prepared to stand together.

As a group I think that all our fans have acted in the way that they think is best for Rovers.
The problem is that we have been divided into two camps - those that will still attend to support the team and those that will boycott in the hope that those resonsible for our ruination will leave all the sooner.
Both sides detest the evilvenkykeanoscum that are leading us into oblivion.
In theory we could all turn up next season in large numbers and get behind the team or we could all stay at home and show the world an empty Ewood which may just shame the devils into selling up.
In reality the diehards will attend a pathetically empty stadium which will enable the football world to say that we do not deserve anything but a further relegation.
An empty stadium would serve notice that something very unusual is happening in football - something very sinister indeed.
As I know that nothing will make the majority that is now going to boycott our home games attend short of at the very, very least, the removal of kean then it is my conclusion that the only logical choice for those that want the best for Rovers is to try and ensure an empty stadium to enforce change.
I much regret the suffering that this will cause to those that will be prevented from attending against their will but in every war the innocent suffer the most and in the situation we find ourselves the only two options are war and surrender.
Only one of those options can I counternance.

Everybody has freedom of choice to do whatever they think is right.
Considering that this is without doubt the worst thing that has happened to BRFC ever; I personally think that drastic fan based action can make a huge difference.
It's not the financial consequences of a home boycott that will drive them out; it's the focus and attention that this action will bring to the plight of our club.
Their position is unsustainable.
The authorities could take some time to complete their investigations and take the necessary action.
In the meantime I believe we should not attend Ewood.
I will personally be going to 90% of the away games to support BRFC.
I will support the team.
I refuse to support the people who have criminally mismanaged our club for their own gain.

Are you suggesting that the gameplan of those that are staying away is violence? because that last paragraph suggests that you are suggesting the use of force to stop fans from attending matches. Who are these people? is this what is discussed in these meetings that have gone on and is that why there are so many suggestive secret whispers on here about being careful about giving too much away?
Maybe the authorities need to take note of such actions if that be the case.

Excellent signing ??
.
So a huge rebuilding job to be done.
.
(and please don't give me this pathetic "I'm going down to support the boys, not SK or Venkys" arguament cos it just won't wash).
.
Anyone and everyone who buys a ST/Merchandise/corpo
rate sponsership is a VENKY appeaser and is helping to DESTROY something they claim to love.
.
I can guarantee that SK/Venkys will announce that the 6,000 APPEASERS that buy ST this season are therefore agreeing with Venkys policy to "wipe the slate clean" and "agree with keeping SK as manager" - these people are masters of PR.
.
Don't be so SELFISH - Venkys think you are less than NOTHING, we are all excrement on their shoes to them - these people DO NOT deserve to have anything to do with our great club - I'm sure we all can agree with statement so why do some of you out there still appease them with your support ??
last week crying into your keyboard begging fellow fans to get somebody removed from the forum (which incidentally was so childish and immature it was straight from the primary school playground) and now you are
describing your own as SCUM !
You need to have a very long look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself the question "am I really classed as a true supporter of this proud club"?

Any fans that GIVE MONEY to these criminals are a DISGRACE - you should be ASHAMED of yourself for funding these people - you are NOT a fan of BRFC you are simply proping up a corupt regime that hides behind the name of BRFC - SHAME ON YOU !!!

For me, if Venkys had sacked Kean this summer, I would have reconsidered because it would have been one gesture to the fans that they recognise they made a big mistake and want to rectify. Until such a move is made - not recruiting a failed PR bloke to General Manager and a Malaysian no-mark to Global Advisor and 35 year old Danny Murphy to our useless midfield. Not what most of us wanted.
Anybody who has not bought a season ticket and believes that it will bring venkys to their knees are deluded, attendances went down last year but venkys sat back while Rome burned.I have not renewed beacause I no longer get anything out of watching my club stumble from one disaster to another I just think its time to get on with it.
So lets stop slagging fellow fans off the fact that it seems easy to set fan against fan is one reason that demos have been a failure because the fans were never prepared to stand together.
i put it to you, though, why is it so difficult for you to understand that some fans want to go and watch rovers however bad things are? can there not be a world where both options exisit, along with a million other options inbetween? you are not an idiot for deciding not to renew, and neither are those that do.
i also don't think you can speak for everyone when you say the decision not to purchase STs has nothing to do with believing the financial hit will force venky's out. i think that's exactly what a lot of people think.
i truly don't know whether it will make a difference for them. i would imagine, over time it would at least cause them to rethink.
but none the less, if you feel it is purely about making a point to them to show that we won't turn up regardless, then fair enough. but some people will turn up regardless, because we are fans of blackburn rovers, and much of that is what being a fan is about. it doesn't need to make sense, it just is what it is.

No doubt he is a talented player BUT he is 35 years old, injury prone, not very mobile and I doubt he and Dunn can play in the same team (they are too similar types of player).

Also Best will be a VERY GOOD signing but don't get carried away.

The lunes from pune know that we will have a FULL team to replace -
Hoilett

Yak
Dann
Robinson

Formica
will ALL definately leave

Rochina

So a huge rebuilding job to be done.

As for Scott Dann - Rovers have been tryig to off-load him since last Dec (they were talking to AV in Jan) trying to get them to have him as they can't really afford the repayments on him and have realised that actually, he's crap anyway !

Also whilst hes at it he can also explain if the LET, the players who continue to draw wages are all scum for not deserting the ship.
Seems like everyone who will attend the games this season are SCuM except the good people who brought you "rather go into administration than have Venky's as owners".

It doesnt matter what anybody on here says, you can not make any arguement to support the suggestion I/we must not really be proper fans. Iv seen it all at Ewood believe me - until last season - and I got to the stage where my feelings of anger and frustration at not being able to influence what was going on, completely overtook the actual football. I stuck it out to the bitter last game and what a farce of a circus it was. Last season, I witnessed, Kean on almost a daily basis stuttering delusional predictions to the press, releasing damaging accusations about fans, fans being body searched at the gates, fans arguing and fighting in the Blackburn End, chickens on the pitch, drunks on the pitch, pundits calling us muppets, thugs, disgrace, accusing us of racism and making death threats, arguments amongst my family after games. I could go on but Im sure most of you know what Im talking about. It was the most cr#p season I can remember and it was all down to a small group of deceitful, incompetent, irresponsible, clueless, dishonest people who have no connection with Blackburn Rovers and dont give a fly's **** about those of us who do. Now excuse me if Im wrong, but nothing has changed, it's got worse. The major player in that fiasco Kean, is still in his job and we have now got the pleasure of another imposter to help him. Against that backdrop, Danny Murphy coming to get his last pay off is completely insignificant to me. I want to make this point on behalf of everybody who has made the heartbreaking decision not to renew tickets. We have not done it because we think we can starve Venkys of enough money to make them throw in the towel. Of course it wont make any difference to them. We are however doing the only thing we can do to let them know we are not prepared to be fed any more of that chicken s''t like last season, we are not lemmings that will trundle along whatever they serve up or whatever lies they give.

I think that we will not hear anything from Kean, as finally it has been realised that he just winds the fans up by his inane, senseless comments, which just underlines that he his the wrong man for the job, wrong man for Blackburn Rovers. Why has no one asked him, if he takes an responsibility for what happened last year; after all he did say at the beginning of last season: 'Judge me on my performance, this is my team', well we have done......taxi for Kean, as you are unable to drive away yourself due to your drink driving ban!

With much fewer away fans as well the site of a 32,000 stadium so empty will bring major embarrassment to Venky's as well as taking perhaps £5m to £10m off them in the coming year if many corporate businesses also withhold cash.

It might not bring them down but Indians have a class ridden society and Venky's are very arrogant people who think they are top of the hierarchy and so it really will bring major personal embarrassment for them if Ewood is empty. £5 to £10m is also a blow to them if not a fatal one it might emcourage them to clear off or realise they have to sack Kean before any clean slate can be considered by the 15,000 fans?

so it waits to be seen what transpires, but should we have one rovers fan pitted against another purely over the desire to go and watch our team play at ewood, then things have truly become dark indeed. i think i would be genuinely upset to see that happen.

I wish all Rovers Supporters would try and get positive about next season lets put last season behind us, yes Keane is still manager, yes Venky's still own our club but this is not going to change in the near future however many fans stay away. We who have got our season tickets will be there cheering on whatever team is put out and hoping that Blackburn Rovers Football Club do us proud in the Championship. Roll on 18th August I just can't wait
Why not support another local club like chorley who has ex rovers gary flitcroft as manager and are playing well under him.

For goodness sake have the sense to realise that the only way to win back our self respect as supporters (and our team) is NOT to go there, and in doing so make a silent protest that will make more impact, and more noise, than any amount of marching, chanting, planes flying overhead etc etc.
Will be glad next season when I can go to Ewood and watch a rovers team without all the rabid chants of Kean out Venky's out, because all those idiots won't be there.
Before all the rabid idiots denounce me for being a traitor, I also believe these are the worst manager and owners rovers have ever had, but I still want to watch rovers play no matter what division.

Sdaccy....you cannot seriously be saying that ALL the fans that go to Watch the Rovers at Ewood next season will be Venky supporters?
Many of the fans will still be trying to get rid of them, so they will still be chanting and flag waving.(if they can sneak them on). It is just that the majority will be either outside protesting(peacefull
y) or staying away all together until the Venky's and Kean etc are gone.
