Sam Allardyce praised his sides second half performance, as well giving rave reviews about centre back Phil Jones.
"He's like a young John Terry, he had a terrific debut" said the Rovers boss.
"His performance inparticular summed it up today, it was great performance considering he is only 17.
"He is a young lad from Chorley so it's a great credit to the staff."
However he didn't ignore the rest of squad, and praised his sides second half efforts after being over shadowed in the first.
"I think we deserved it in the end, our second half inparticular was impressive.
"We have been disapointed at Liverpool and Tottenham but today we managed to get the result."
Despite a big derby day looming, Allardyce insists he is only focussing on the next game.
"We have to perform like we did in the second half, and we'll get a result.
"We have to keep our record up. We are very proud of it and we have to get a result and they we can think about Burnley."
