Blackburn Rovers v Chelsea: early team news

Sam Allardyce has a number of injury problems to cope with ahead of Blackburn’s game against Chelsea on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Paul Robinson (calf), captain Ryan Nelsen (knee), Gael Givet (groin), Lars Jacobsen (hernia) and Vince Grella (calf) are all missing while loan striker Franco di Santo cannot play against his parent club Chelsea.

Jason Brown will fill in for Robinson, with Mark Bunn being recalled from Sheffield United as cover.

Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns. Goalkeeper Petr Cech trained on Friday but remains a doubt and he will undergo a late fitness test on his calf injury. Hilario is also a doubt with a groin strain.

Michael Essien (knee), Ashley Cole (ankle) and Jose Bosingwa (knee) are all sidelined.

Rovers (from): Brown, Dunn, Olsson, Salgado, Pedersen, Nzonzi, Hoilett, Roberts, Diouf, Andrews, Kalinic, Dunn, Chimbonda, Basturk, Samba, Emerton, Jones.

Chelsea provisional squad: Turnbull, Taylor, Cech, Ivanovic, Kalou, Alex, Drogba, Malouda, Terry, Carvalho, Borini, Lampard, Obi, Deco, Anelka, Zhirkov, J Cole, Belletti, Ballack, Kakuta, Sturridge, Ferreira.

Nelsen, Givet, Grella, Robinson, Jacobsen all out injured.

Di Santo inelegible.

Samba and who at centre back? Andrews? Jones? Move Chimbonda into the middle and shove Ollson at Left Back, Emerton Right?

I do think we can take something from the game but i'd feel a lot more comfortable with either the admiral or Givet fit.

I hope I'm wrong in my thinking, but how much importance will be given to the Chelsea game? Will players be rested in order to be fit for the Brum and Burnley encounters where we should stand a better chance of picking up points?
.
It'd be nice to give Chelsea a game, that Terry fella has no pace and some of our young lads could really embarass him, hopefully!

Tough game Sunday. Let's save the energy for the Brum game which is much more winnable. 3 points from the next two games sees us safe and sets us up nicely for t'turd.

Vanessa Perconnel as Centre Forward - she seems to know how to get round the Chelsea defence (midfield and attack too) if all that is written is true.
.
Man United is a one man team with Rooney
Liverpool is a two man team with Stevie GBH and Torres.
Chelsea is a one woman team with Vanessa

just shows we need to sign more back up at centre half come summer, i have long felt were a bit thin on cover if as has happened we have 2 centre halves struggling for fitness, Jones could maybe come in or can we not call zurab back? We got away with Andrews at Centre back against Bolton but i wouldnt play him against chelsea, he would get torn apart
