Burnley chief Kilby slams 'ludicrous' Laws story

Burnley chairman Barry Kilby has blasted a national newspaper story claiming the club are looking for a replacement for manager Brian Laws.

The Sun newspaper alleges that Kilby has already started the process of looking for a new boss following a run of defeats.

However, Kilby insisted: “This is a ludicrous, irresponsible, damaging and inaccurate piece of journalism.

“We are not in the process of looking for a replacement for Brian and everyone involved with Burnley Football Club is putting every ounce of effort into staying in the Premier League.”

Thank heavens for that,we want Laws in place when the Rovers go there, his record speaks volumes.

I wouldnt trust Kilby as far as I could throw him quite frankly.

Laws has not been in the job for long. Its not his squad. He should be given another couple of seasons regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season.

Madari the snake charmer says:

I dont buy :`its not his squad`.
The game of football is simple, keep a clean sheet and you wont get beat.

Since the arrival of Laws i cant remember a game when the Clarets havent given the opposition a Goal start.

Brian Laws has had more than enough games to sort his defence out at least.

Any group of players, no matter who brought them into the club should be capable to `shut up shop`if instructed and trained to do so.

BL has consistently proved that he is inept in every department,he shows no passion, no commitment or desire and that is now being filtered down on to the players.

At every aftermatch interview BL has a grin on his face.(why)

I say to Kilby and Flood get rid of BL and put it down to experiance.

Appoint Graham Souness till the end of the season with a promise of a lenghthy contract if the Clarets survive relegation this season.

If the Clarets do get relegated and i think that they will , then they should appoint Derek McInnes who is doing a fantastic job in the SPL with St johnstone after taking over from Owen Coyle.(on limited resources)

He is also young and hungry

Brian Laws is John Bond in desguise, I am certain.

Yeah Kilby is a really untrustworthy isn't he? I know, lets get rid of Kilby and bring some of the former Portsmouth owners in.
You really are a kn*b Ossy.

I don't normally comment on Burnla matters as a true blue, but I just think that Madari's comments are so ridiculous
+
I have no idea what you do for a job mate... lets just say you are a snake charmer... i think you would be pretty annoyed if you got sacked without a proper crack at the whip... especially to be replaced by Greame Souness... Who in their right mind believes that Greame would be intersted in the Burnley Job? how did you come to that conclusion?
+
It's obvious to me and many Burnla and Blackburn fans that BL was employed for his knowledge of the club, his decent(ish) record int' championship and his decent manner. He was also a cheap option for a club who has effectivley ensured its future for the next ten years through promotion and not overspending
+
But Madari... You know best. Sack a manager who has only just started his contract, Hire a cutthroat jock from the old guard for millions...
+
Sounds like the logic of a nutcase to me!

Yes but don't forget that when the first side has finished, you turn the record over. I stand by my previous forecast, the time has come for a good Claret win regardless of what the doom mongers say.

Didn't agree with BL's appointment (anyone who is given the job on the back of a financial consultant's report, instead of Football results, says it all) However, he has had the temerity to take the job following teh Judas back stab and he should be given a fair crack of the whip regardless of whether in the Prem or Championship. It cannot be denied he is a Claret in respect of loyalty i.e. to the club and not self-agrandaisement a la Mr. Iscariot

Well my fellow rival from Rovers, you are so right with your comment.

Lets hope the game on the 28th is a classic. All the best to Rovers for the rest of the season but only after our mighty clash.

Take it easy fella and once again thanks for you decent comment. UTC.

Alright RG, now dont jump the gun we are still in there with a fighting chance.

If we can get that away win and follow that up with turning Rovers over then there is everything to fight for.

However if those results go against us then your comment could ring true but i really do hope not.

Take it easy chap. UTC

Its high time Kilby andFlood went. They are totally inept.

Dont need to bring anyone in : simply transfer the club to a supporter owned trust and elect our own board. Its Kilby and Flood who will lead us into a Pompey situation if we go down.

In answer to your response to my previous comments:

* I am a snake charmer (self employed)and i suggest that you google `madari the snake charmer`and enanhce your knowledge of the world,I can see the tax payer has wasted his money when you didnt learn at school that the proper term is `Burnley` and not `Burnla`as you repeatedly state, perhaps you are dislexic? .

* I would never apply or take on a job that i was not capable of doing and BL in his time at Burnley has already proved that he is out of his depth at this level, therefore ,I would never put my self in a position to be dismissed without being given as you put if`a proper crack at the whip`in the first place.

* We dont know if Souness would be interested in the Clarets job but it is still worth approaching him as he has ample premiership experiance, which is more than BL has to offer.

*As i have stated previously on these posts Hull City with 9 games left for them to play have taken the gamble to relieve Phil Brown of his duties as Hull City value their Premiership status.

Barry Kilby and Flood obviously dont value Premiership status and that is why they went for a cheap option.(an expensive mistake)

The club should have and still should show more ambition and desire by doing eveything in their power to keep the Clarets in the Premiership especially in a season when one team has already been ,as good as relegated(Portsmouth
)

*What knowledge(BL) of the club are you talking about ?BL has more knowledge of Notts Forrest than Burnley and Forrest didnt try to appoint him during their darkest days , did they? and if the state BL has left Sheffield Wednesday is in your opinion `decent(ish)and therefore acceptable then you stick to following the Deadwoods.

*The Madari doesn`t always `know best`as you put it, The Madari just doesn`t want to wait another 33 years watching the likes of ,Grimsby , Lincoln and Scunthorpe on cold dark winter nights thats all.

* We The Clarets have had to reach the Premiership the hard way and it would be a shame to capitulate a hard earned status so easily.

* it takes a brave man to call the Madari a `nutcase` i again suggest you google `Madari the snake charmer` and learn about the Madari .

* Finally I still believe that BL will be shown the door before long.

Adios......

But getting rid of BL would cost a load of comp money. Kilby and Flood would never do that.
Even if went who would we recruit ? It would have to be someone out of work : Souness, Coppell, Dalglish, Hughes, Megson etc. They would still have to work with the same players, who are, lets be honest and face up to this, simply not good enough for the PL.

Madari the snake charmer says:

Regardless of who the players are at Burnley, they are all still capable of stiffling the opposition and grinding out results of 0-0 , They the players are simply badly organisd and badly managed under present management.

If BL since his appointment ,at a time when we were still struggling had taken the approach of gaining a point a game by stiffling out the opposition and not letting them score then we would have had enough points on the board by now for premiership safety.

It is too late to take this approach now as we are running out of games.

I am getting tired of repeating myself ,BL is Clueless and out of his depth at this level.

Look at the Hull appointment for the calibre of manager you could at best attract.

I think your lot are going down this year simply because Laws/Coyle were not given a realistic amount of money to keep you up. To have had any chance, you really needed to bring in a few quality players and the only signing that even mildly stands out is Fletcher.

That said, Laws has been your Paul Ince - completely out of his depth. For us Rovers, it was honestly the best appointment you could have made though he will probably get sacked at the end of the season and I think Phil Brown might be a realistic target should you have the bottle to dispense of Laws.
