DAVID Nugent scored his second goal in five days for Burnley but the Clarets remain in the Premier League relegation zone after their 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City.
The Potters took an interval lead courtesy of Tuncay Sanli's 23rd minute goal.
Rory Delap's long throw was flicked on by Mamady Sidibe to Tuncay, who headed in.
Burnley hit back and Chris Eagles delivered a cross to Martin Paterson at the back post in the 39th minute.
However, the Northern Ireland striker showed a lack of confidence and sent his effort weakly into the side-netting.
But Nugent salvaged a point for Burnley with his sixth goal for the club.
He headed home in the 52nd minute after Paterson turned Danny Collins inside out before delivering a superb cross from deep.
The Clarets came close to getting the winner in the closing moments of the game with Chris Eagles sending a shot over the bar and sub Kevin McDonald finding the wrong side of the post with his effort.

Lots better in the 2nd half, the tempo was upped and we kept the ball down. Still cant keep a clean sheet but defended better in the 2nd period. Im still concerned with the amount of chances we are missing from good scoring positions, they need to put them to bed. UTC

Interesting that you moved the advertising boards to stop Delap from taking his throws - of course it didn't work because you need to do it all the way to the half way line (lol) - but you have given everyone else a good idea! . Please do the same against us then Big Sam can't use that awful technique either! . Its got to be 3 points on Sat now Bertiebee or its thrown to the relegation Wolves me thinks? . 31st........

Can still stay up cos lower teams are c**p in form. We will need i reckon 37 points to be sure. Thats 4 wins and 1 draw. Given our run-in thats defnitely achievable but we need some wins urgently. Goals by Fletcher and Nugent simply prove my point about player quality. We need more players like them to stay in the PL longer-term and it is not cheap. If we do stay up this point has got to be rammed home to Kilby and Flood otherwise its Derby County next season. Really the issue is not Coyle, Laws, Gartside, the media, Blackburn fans or injuries. The players are not good enough to be viable in the PL : its as simple as that. Unless this is dealt with in the Summer (assuming we stay up) the playing side of the club will collapse. Early season home form in 6-7 games under Coyle created a false impression and led some people to believe the squad is good enough and when its not and never will be. In truth most of em are nowehere near PL standard. Ossy Claret

OK. Win : Wolves, Blackburn,Hull, Wigan. Draw : Sunderland. This is definitely feasible but need to show more flair and determination. Ossy Claret
