Legend Mullin thanks Accrington Stanley fans

ACCRINGTON legend Paul Mullin thanked Stanley’s fans for his big reception as he took to the field on his first return to the Crown Ground as a Morecambe player – but was still miserable about the result.

Mullin’s old club beat his new employers 3-2 in a thrilling Lancashire derby but Accrington’s record scorer was cheered from all corners of the Crown when he went on as a substitute.

“It was great,” he said. “You never know what sort of reception you will get but that was nice.

“And people had gone to a lot of effort with banners and the like and I would like to thank them for that.

“I still have a lot of fond feelings for Accrington and I hope they get into the play-offs – but I hope we are in there with them.

“It is a major disappointment to lose the game and the difference was the finishing.”

It looks like all the idiots who wanted to see the end of Stanley are not laughing now ie Rich Rilley and as a Claret I hate to say this Razer its looking like automatic promotion if they keep this up,at last Stanley look like a real league team once more as they did in the mid to late 1950s when huge crowds got behind them at Peel park ON STANLEY ON
