NIKOLA Kalinic scored his second goal of the season to give Rovers the lead at the break in this Carling Cup quarter-final.
The Croatian netted after just nine minutes from close range after a cut-back from Pascal Chimbonda.
Kalinic, playing alongside Jason Roberts in attack with Benni McCarthy just behind, troubled Chelsea throughout.
The Blues, who made seven changes from the side that beat Arsenal, saw Kalou go closest but his header flew just wide of Paul Robinson's post.
McCarthy's freekick went wide just before the break.

De La Rosa, Blackburn says...

Pedersen, Salgado, McCarthy and Kalinic all SERIOUSLY impressing me tonight...
Man for man marking... we haven't had that since Hughes! Just goes to show it works... Emerton is again having a blinder... N'zonzi is dictating midfield...
Just got to keep it up in the second half...
"dare to dream" of a semi-final... i think so!
