CLITHEROE boss Peter Smith has told his defenders they must buck up their ideas if they are to have futures at Shawbridge.
Smith is simmering after the 5-3 FA Trophy loss at Salford on Saturday and will make changes tonight in the Co-Operative Challenge Trophy.
He stormed: “There is no way you should lose when you score three away from home.
“Four of the five goals we conceded were sloppy and we didn’t deserve to win.”
Smith will give some of his fringe players a run tonight as they welcome big spending Blue Square North side Fleetwood Town to Shawbridge.
“I will have a look at a few things and a few fringe players and see how they do in a really tough game.
"Fleetwood are a team full of talent and even if they play their reserves it will be like a who’s who.
“But there is always chance of an upset.
"That’s why we play cup competitions and we will give it our best.”
