Rovers will start life back in the Championship with a trip to Ipswich Town - a round trip of over 500 miles. 

Tony Mowbray will take his side to Portman Road to face one of his former clubs when the 2018/19 Championship season gets underway on Saturday, August 4.

Ewood Park will host second tier football again next season, with Rovers' first home game coming against Millwall on Saturday, August 11.

The opening months of the season also includes Hull City away on Saturday, August 18, and home matches with Reading and Brentford on Tuesday, August 22 and Saturday, August 25 respectively. 

The traditional Boxing Day fixture sees Rovers face an away trip to Leeds United, while they will be away at Shefffield United on Saturday, December 29. 

Rovers will start 2019 with a home match against West Bromwich Albion on January 1.

The season finishes with a home fixture against Swansea City on Sunday, May 5. 

Midweek away matches include visits to Derby County (Tuesday, September 18), Swansea City (Tuesday, October 23), Wigan Athletic (Wednesday, November 28), Reading (Wednesday, February 13),
